WELCOME to Festival's humble web page. Here you will get to know about everything and anything that you could ever know about us.
Festival is defined as an event, usually and ordinarily staged by a local community, which centers on and celebrates some unique aspect of that community. We're the guild that celebrates being You.
This means that we're a member-based guild that places a strong emphasis on fostering close, long-lasting bonds between our members. We believe that you, the member makes up the guild, so everything is focused on YOU. We welcome everyone of all shape, size, color, and age. It doesn't matter whether you're blue, square, or triangle, there is always a place for you in Festival.
So what is Festival about?
Fun : We're all about having fun, whether you like chatting or solving puzzles. We'll eventually offer it all once we settle and work away our "new guild smell".
Tight knitness: To offer a more family feel, the guild will be going private once we hit cap, which is around 50 people.
Respect: You ever been in a guild where you posted several times in an attempt to get someone's attention, only to be ignored over and over again? Most of us have been through that. In Festival, ignoring someone is discouraged while interaction is encouraged.
Understanding & Friendship : I know I know, you're probably thinking "EWW don't get all mushy gushy on me now," but 'tis true! Festival values close-knit friendships above all else! We understand what it's like to have a bad day because in the end it all comes down to this: we're all human (unless you're a robot of course-and if you are, you shouldn't be here!). After a long day at work or school, we all go on to find an escape from reality, not face more drama. Knowing this, Festival tries our best to provide an understanding ear as well as group of friend that you can be yourself with.
Quality: Every single action we take serves a purpose to fit and tailor the environment to that of something everyone can enjoy. Everything from guild layouts to content has been thought out, read and reread several times to make sure that it is that of top-notched quality. We will leave you with nothing less than that of amazement!
Activeness: We're not some guild that wants people just for numbers and show. We WANT to get to know everyone and anyone. For this purpose Festival often encourage it's people to come out of hiding and join the crowd.
First and foremost, Festival would like to extend a warm welcome to our family. To further fit into the guild, we have created a to do list for you to complete.
1. To get started, please go introduce yourself at our message board . Everyone would really love to meet you.
2. Read our rules and regulations to make sure you don't break any rules. You don't want to get into trouble do you?
3. Explore the portal. The portal contains many vital links that are important to see. It contains everything that Festival has to offer to you.
4. Read the bulletin board to see if there's anything new.
5. Enable guild mailing. It's how we contact you and update you on things that are going on throughout the guild that month.
6.Participate because you're not going to have fun if you don't!
Frequently asked questions
Can I be on the council?
Yes and no. We will place you upon council when we feel the time is right and you're ready. If you ask us if you can be on council after 3 weeks of joining and posting 1 time, the answer will obviously be NO.
Why was I deleted from the guild?
You were probably deemed extremely inactive or broke one of our rules. Remember the guild is not a place to join, appear once and never be seen again. We WANT to get to know you as much as possible.
What can I do to help?
There are a spectrum of things to help; ranging from making advertisements/graphics/banners/pages for the guild, to recruiting and coming up with new ideas. Whatever you think of, you can do. The possibilities are endless!
While we want our guild to be pretty freestyle in what the members can do and be a part of, there are a few rules and regulations that we ask you to follow so that our guild can flow as efficiently and productively as possible.
1.) Be literate. In order to communicate, we need to make sure we can all understand each other, and chat speak takes away from that. That being said, we aren't extremely strict to the point of freaking out when you make one spelling mistake or when you use smileys.
2.) Be active. We pride ourselves on having no life and posting 24/7-*Ahem* I mean while we understand that you have a life outside of Neopets, post every once in a while! Take a part in some of the events in our guild!
3.) Respect each other. We are all part of a family here, and there is absolutely no need for any disrespect or harassment. Any of this will NOT be tolerated in the guild, and will result in being removed or suspended depending on the severity of the incidence.
4.) Resolve thru neomail. If there is any conflict with someone please resolve it over neomail, and keep it off the guild boards. If it comes to the point where it doesn't seem you can solve the issue on your own, please consult any of the councils.
Note: Although we don't see it being an issue in our guild, suspensions and expulsions from the guild will be used as the council sees fit. We will neomail you with reasons why if this applies to you.
Ranks in Festival are based off things that are found in...well festivals! These ranks are based off two different factors: activities and chatting. You can move up a rank by either chatting away at the boards or if you earn enough activity points, you can move upwards. The higher rank you are, the more privileges you unlock. For example, to be able to access certain avatar items, you must be above a particular rank.
1. Popcorn- The rank for the most wild people in the guild. They know how to liven up the place and chatter away like crazy! Reserved for those with 1000+ posts OR purchased with 500 points.
2. Cotton Candy - The not so new people who sort of know their way around the guild. Reserved for those with 500-999 post or purchase with 300 points.
3. Pie- Still new, but not as new. You're still unclear about things, but getting the hang of it. At this stage you have 200-499 posts or purchase with 100 points
4. Balloon - The rank that you are once you enter the guild. You're just randomly floating around, getting to know everyone and everything.
To encourage you to do activities, the guild has adopted a unique point system. The more points you have, the more privileges you may encounter.
Things that you may see in the future in regards with points system:
Use of points to purchase a ticket to weekly 1np auctions.
Use of points to purchase badges. VERY prestigious.
Use of points to request graphics
To get a feel of what the guild will be like since we're new, these are the features that we will feature!
Activities- Our activities will be mainly of something like booths that you visit at a festival. You'll be doing stuff such as hitting baloons, picking a lucky worm, ect. (; We don't want to reveal too much so stick around to find out.
Newspaper- Will have recent happenings about the guild.
Member profiles page- So you can get to know some of our amazing members!
Scrap book - This is where we'll be keeping screenshots of memories that we make within the guild.
GraphicsShow your pride by putting our graphics and fonts! (: It helps advertise the guild and show everyone how much you love us.
Is your font too boring? We've provided a few guild fonts for you to use. You are free to change them to your desire.
Advertise usSince we're new, it would be wonderful if you could help advertise the guild. Here are a few advice to follow, as well as some adverts you may use.
A word of advice:be selective. We want real people to talk to in the guild, not someone who is likely to appear once and never talk again. Most of the time, if they're still at their own board chatting then they're more likely to get on the guild and chat. We also don't want some one who t4lks 1yk d1z so please be sure to check their literacy level.
When to use premade advertisements and when to not: Most people don't mind if you use a pre-made, but some will be very annoyed if you do. Be sure to read their post, as it's the polite thing to do. Usually their post will indicate whether they want you to use a pre-made or write your own message.
Stay and chat, unless told specifically not to. No one wants to feel like a number, and the person will feel more welcome if you chat with them.
