The first question you asked was where or what is the "Alert" button"? And the first question I ask you is "Do you have the Neopets Toolbar? The Alert Button is on the Neopets toolbar. If you want the toolbar its easy to download. Do I have to be a Neopets Premium Member to have the Neopets Toolbar? Nope. The toolbar does have a lot of other nice buttons. Email, neomail, popup blocker, favourites, games, and lots more. The "Alert" Button is the most important button on the toolbar (at least to me), and located on the right, it looks like a light blue star or a snowflake. Will I still have my other toolbars? I have IE and the neopets toolbar is a just another row of buttons (like what you see above) that I can use. On my pc, I go to View Go to Toolbars Here I can see that the Neopets toolbar is a choice I can turn on or off and my regular toolbar functions are still available. happy_jens has a few different toolbars on IE including neopets and it works fine. All you need to do is right click on the toolbar part and select the toolbars you want to show or hide. But having other toolbars installed has no affect on the neopets toolbar at all. What is so special about the Neopets toolbar? Ohmygosh. Someone pointed out that I called this a toolbar guide and yet only talked about the Alert button and Tarla. Shame on me for not saying a thing about the other special features! Who gets a toolbar for a single button?! Some Neopets toolbar features: Neopets Quick Links Direct button to neopet games alerts for email and neomail your favorites and shopping Pop-Up Blocker Magnifying Glass - great for MPic! comes in 11 languages the "Alert" button is the best feature to me! Read all about it and more on their info page. How does the Alert button work? When it changes color from light blue and starts flashing gold...click it as fast as possible. A window will open and will read:  Can I click on it at any time? Yes. Right after you download the toolbar go ahead and click on it, and make sure it works. Who is Tarla? Tarla is a red ixi who gives out FREE prizes from her warehouse. If you click it fast enough you get the prize. If not....Tarla has left the building. She looks just like...  Does she always give the same item to everybody for a giveaway? No. At first she gives the same items, for about 30 seconds to a minute. After that, people clicking will get random items Does anyone know the stock times for Tarla? No. Random, many times in one day, or none one day. Does Tarla give away something every day? No. Random again. Do I need the Toolbar to get the treasures? or What if I cannot use the toolbar? No and no problem. I'm just as surprised as you! Some people are not able to download the Neopets Toolbar into their system (MAC), and some are not able to use the version of FireFox that the Neopets Toolbar comes with. Some Neopians do not have a pc. For a long time (years), my family was one of them. We would get online at school or use the local library computers. I would only see my pets once a week!! Kind of hard to download the Toolbar when you are not allowed, isn't it? Last but not least, some people have dial-up and the Neopets Toolbar makes their pc even slower or unusable. They want to keep it, but not if it stops their pc from working at all. TNT said it's fine to post the link for those who cannot download or use the toolbar. I think that was mighty sweet of them! 
Now you won't have to wait for the kind souls who post the address for Tarla. Thank you to all the wonderful Neopians do post it! Next time you see posts on the board saying Tarla is back....Click on the Tarla's Treasures Banner above or any one of these addresses below: Save my page, that way if you don't have the toolbar...you still have a way to Tarla the next time she runs by! Do I have to be signed into Neopets to see the alert button flashing? Or get the prize? No, and no. Click on the Alert button and Tarla tells you to log in. Is every Alert a giveaway? No. The button was flashing and she just shooed me away, no gift. False alarms happen. I click anyway, but it feels like musical chairs...your just waiting for the music to stop or for the Alert button to flash. Nooooo. *sob* I have to get off the pc computer soon, and won't have another chance. Heres a tissue, its okay. I have missed it too. Things like going to the ladies room (why are you laughing? I really had to go!), answer the phone, etc. Quick, go to your nearest neopets help board and check if anyone else has a topic called: "Tarla has left the building... If not, create a board yourself and ask what did everyone else get when the "Alert" button flashed. If you really want the item, go buy one from the wizard. Don't be surprised when others join you waiting for the answer. And if that board happens to be up already, it might even be me. :D  Click on the popup blocker while you are signed into Neopets, it should change to 'Site Popups Allowed'. Quickly click on the alert button again. I already got a prize today, but when it flashed a different/2nd time...she did not give me anything!! You can only collect one prize from Tarla a day, per account. Laugh, but it has happened! Already got a prize today, but when it flashed a different/2nd time...If I don't click on it, the button will not stop flashing. Happens to me all the time, how about you? I don't care if its called a gift, prize, or treasure, I never get to say 'Thanx!' Does not matter how I spell it, only matters that I mean it and that you understand. So many people had questions about Who is Tarla, where is the Alert button, & did not know it was related to the toolbar. This page is to help them and say thanx to Tarla and TNT. The Neopets Toolbar is a program, something you can download for free. At the bottom of my guide, it says "click here". This will take you to a page where Neopets gives all their information about the Neopets Toolbar.
