Living the Life of a True Rock Enthusiast
Hey! Welcome to my page, I am Tickelles, rock superstar! Well, at least
that is what is going to be my name. My family is just an average,
rockified family.. We do everything that other Neopians do, you know, go to
work, play games, train, and hang around. Oh, did I mention that we tour Neopia, playing concerts in Tyrannia, Meridell, Mystery Island, and tons of
other worlds?
Let me tell you a little
bit about me, my aspirations, and my family. I am in a family of four, so I'll go along with my brothers first.

The oldest (besides my mom)
is IcharisBrief, my brother Koi. He is very fun, and is super talented.
He is the gifted singer/song writer in our group. Initially, we were in a
bit of a rut with his role in our band. See, since he IS a Koi, the
instruments that he can play was very limited. As you can probably
imagine, fins can be difficult to utilize in a rock group. After some failed
experiments with instruments, we nearly gave up with any possible ways of
incorporating him. A few days later we heard him singing in the pool, and
discovered his hidden talent: his voice! Ever since that day he has been the
main vocals in all our music.

Xarkaou

When it came to placing
my Tyrannian brother, Xarkaou, on an instrument, our family automatically
knew the perfect instrument for him: Drums. Ever since the day he was
created, he was always banging things together, putting together lines on
pots and pans, and altogether making a musical racket! So, once we put him
on the drums, we knew that it was a great choice! The Tyrannian in him
really kicks in when he plays, so he can produce some extreme drum lines!

As you most likely know, my name is Tickelles, named after my
owner. I play guitar like her! My guitar of choice is the Blue Moehawk.
The Moehawks are my favorite group by far! I listen to their concerts
whenever I go to the Tyrannian Concert Hall!

The Beginning
Ever since before
I was born, our family has had musical dreams. Our mom had been rock stars
dreams, and had hoped that when we were created, we'd have the same aspirations!
That way, she wouldn't have to give up her music because we'd dislike it.
Fortunately, we took to music instantly! At all of our
creations, we exuded musical talents at once!
All of us, but me. When I came home the first night, I
watched my family practice truly moving music with a soul of its own.
Craving that beautiful sound, I decided to give it my all and learn to play an
instrument. So, I picked up the nearest instrument, and tried to play.
After several hours, I got very discouraged, and decided to
go on a music hiatus. Hey, since I can't magically start playing awesome like my
brothers, then this 'music' business was not worth my time. Right?
Despite the fact that I seemed to have lost all
interest in music, I secretly wanted to rock like my family. I felt rather
low due to the fact that everyone in my family had amazing talents at the moment
they were made. My brothers, being the musical geniuses they were, didn't
make me feel any better about it either. So, after a few days, I decided to
consult her with my seemingly unattainable goals of rock-stardom!
After a few hours of talking, I found out that my mom
wasn't BORN with the shredding skills she has.. She had to practice hours upon
hours to get to her current level.
Feeling inspired, I decided that I wanted to play the
guitar also! I practiced for hours on end, every day of the week. Eventually I
got pretty decent, nowhere nearly as good as I had hoped, but pretty good.
A few months into my
learning, my brothers finally deemed that I was worthy to play with them. *Rolls
Eyes* Brothers nowadays.. So, my mom, brothers, and I started jamming together.
Initially, we just played in our neohome, sometimes having a few friends come
over, but nothing big.
One day, my
mom decided to take all of us to this 'concert' thing by the 'Moehawk' people,
saying that it could interest us. Intrigued, I went to this concert thing.
The second I saw the
'Moehawks' I fell in love. They played their hearts out on stage,
and at the moment, I could not think of anywhere else I'd want to be. That
is, I couldn't think of anywhere else I'd want to be, until I got into the car
for the ride home. I knew that I didn't want to merely be watching the
musicians on the stage, I wanted to be ON the stage!
I asked my mom what
she thought of the idea of our little group going full out and becoming a band.
Thrilled, she said that there was nothing she would like more! Thereafter, we
created our new, name-less group.

Here is a picture of me jamming on the Blue
Moehawk Guitar: my
favorite! This is a pre-concert snap-shot. Mom usually doesn't let me
get all made up on regular
days. She said it should be about the music, not the appearance.
(whatever THAT means..) ^_^ |
The History of the SugarZ
Since the day that
we went to the Moehawks concert, my family decided to take our little group to
the next level, and make a true band!
First, we had to
spread the word to get gigs. Since we had friends over on a bi-daily basis to
hear us play, we asked everyone to tell just two people about us. Slowly
but surely, more and more people started coming, desiring to hear our music!
We started to make a 'name' for ourselves. Which left one problem..
What would our name
be? We had been just referred to o0sugarkiss0o's band, but we had to make a true
name! To stay semi-true to our roots, we decided to have a similar name.
After some trial and error, we finally came to the name, the SugarZ!
Several months
forward, we hit it big time! Now we play gigs all around Neopia!

Steps to Be a Successful Neo-Rocker
|
1. Find an instrument that fascinates you. Make sure it
is something that you can know that you won't be tired of playing in a week.
2. Don't be discouraged if you don't get it immediately. Remember, practice
makes perfect!
|
3. Try to log in at least thirty minutes of
practice each day. It is better to do small lots of time, several times a week,
versus a large lot of time one time a week.
4. Look around for people who know the instrument you're
interested in. They can provide help and instruction so you can be the best
rocker possible! (I wouldn't be nearly as good as I am today if I hadn't has my
mom's guidance!)
5.
Have fun with it! What is the point of doing something you don't love?
