Like many of his kind, his story began in the rolling hills of the west. He was born into a small tribe filled with many like him. His father was a very highly respected warrior for their tribe and was very close to the chief in ranks. He was soon named lead warrior and led their tribe to many victories over the land. One cool morning in April, his father led the warriors home early. His first born son had arrived. His mother was nothing out of the ordinary. A beautiful mare that taught him well. But only a few months after his birth, his tribe was under a massive attack that left them defenseless. His mother knew how helpless they were and knew she had to hide her child from the invaders.
A basket would be the saving grace for the child. She wrapped him in a soft deer skin pelt and hid him carefully in the basket. Before she could turn around, an enemy stood at the entrance to their tepee. She was not spared, and their entire tribe was wiped out. All was quiet in the village, except a small, soft crying in the distance.
A day or two passed before a neighboring tribe curiously inspected the ruins of his home. Bodies limply covered the battle grounds and all their food stolen. The allied people scavenged the collapsed tepees and stained buffalo pelts. Nothing was to be found. But N'akaii, a young native of the southern tribe had made an interesting find. She herself was newly wed and had just left the comfort of her home tribe. She was a peace offering gift and was still trying to figure out things in this world. Her ears heard the soft cry and quickly found the infant swaddled in cloth next to what must have been his mother. She carefully picked up the infant and quickly noticed his icy blue eyes. The same icy blue eyes of the great warrior Wapasha of this tribe. She knew this could bring potential trouble, but she couldn't bring herself to leave the infant for the wolves to claim. "Ill call you... Tiakel."
He lived with N'akaii until he was seven years of age. The ripe age when they would start to be trained in the skilled art of combat. As the mentor indian walked down the line of young colts eager to fight in battle, he noticed a pair of bright blue eyes staring back at him. This told him not only he was attentive, but of his ancestry. His nostrils flared, knowing they had a son of the great warrior Wapasha among them. His secret was out. No matter how much N'akaii pleaded and begged, young Tiakel was soon banned and sent off to fend for himself in the wilderness. It seemed like no matter how hard he tried, Tiakel could not find his second tribe ever again. He searched for years trying to track his step-mother and her tribe, but was always unsuccessful.
From then on, he had lived on his own. Not knowing why he had been banished in the first place, and not knowing anything of his true mother or father. He will never know of the blood that flows through his veins that he was destined to be the next great warrior. The stallion is now at the ripe old age of twenty-two and still has had little to no contact with anyone. He has spent his days wandering and fending for himself in the wild and has become one with nature. Whether or not he really is the last of his kind, he'll never know. But what he does know is that something was wrong with him. Something that spurred his banishment instantly, and something he could never be forgiven of.
