Thunder

Intro

As you venture through the woods you come across a clearing. You stop when you notice small white fluffs floating above the ground. Confused you step closer you see that the fluffs are small clouds. Walking closer you see that they ascend slightly as if they were steps leading up into the clouds. By now you think you are dreaming because the only place you know thats in the clouds is Faerie Land.

So with curiosity over whelming you head up the cloud steps. To your surprise the first cloud you step on moves the other clouds like as escalator, leaving no trail of clouds behind. Slightly scared you wonder how you'll get back. In less than two minutes the cloud stops at the base of a huge cloud. Stepping of the little cloud you look around. As far as you can see there is nothing but clouds and a few pools of water. The strange place seems but an island made up of clouds.

Waste of time huh?" A voice says. Turning around you see a yellow Lupe with blue thunder bolt shaped stripes, a short bang and blue eyes. "You should leave there's no point in staying…" He replied firmly. "Then why are you here?" You asked. There was a long pause before he answered. "Because I live here…" Your about to say something when the Lupe suddenly holds his paw up to stop you from talking. "Don't say anything…I already know what your going to ask…You want to know why I live here If I just told you it was a waste of time coming here." Sitting down he breathes deeply before looking back at you. "I might as well tell you my story.

Story

My birth was not like any other, I had no mother or father I was alone. Before I was born I was kept inside a lightning orb, hidden inside a small cloud. And on the day I was born the orb exploded causing a thunderstorm. Instead of dark grey clouds they were dark yellow clouds. They sky lid up in a flash of yellow and blue.

Now the weird thing is was the rain fell in the shape of small thunder bolts. During the time I sat on my cloud watching it all fascinated. Slowly the strange storm started to fade away. Disappointed I lay down and whimpered. Suddenly I hear a soft voice motherly voice, turning around I see a pretty Lupess sitting on a larger cloud. Her fur was as white as the clouds with sky blue spots. Folded neatly by her side were big feathery wings.

Come." She said softly. Hesitating I then jump on to the cloud she was sitting on. As soon as I did the cloud started to move towards a giant cloud like island. "Where are we going?" I asked. "Home." She replied. "Home?" The lupess said nothing but nodded. "Who are you?" I asked her. "My name is Sky. Have you been given a name little one?" I thought for a moment before answering. "No.

Before answering the cloud had reached the island. Sky then walked forward, I followed. We walked for what seemed to me like hours. But was only a few minutes. Then a huge temple came into view. The temple was huge with ruins written on the silver blue walls. In front of the temple were four big silver orbs placed on a stone pedestal, dug inward so that the orbs stayed in place. Around each pedestal were ruins, each in a different color. One was red, another, yellow, then green, and blue.

Come little one and you'll receive your name." She said pointing to the orbs. "But which one?" I asked. "The one that lights up to your presence.

Slowly I walked towards the orbs; I wasn't sure what I was supposed to do, so I walked past each one. First the red one, and nothing happened. Then I went to the blue one, still nothing. Finally I walked to yellow one and as soon as I did the orb started to glow bright yellow. Instinct told me to place my paw on top of it and when I did inside the orb I saw a vision of war from the future. There was a voice that said: "Grow strong…learn from your element and nature. Train hard and prepare for the worst…" After that the vision vanished and was replaced by a word. It read Thunder, as soon as I whispered it under my breath it vanished and the yellow glow disappeared as well. Turning around I looked at Sky.

What do I do now?" I asked. "Did you receive your name?" She asked ignoring my question. "I think so…I think it is Thunder." I said with a sigh. Sky nodded and told me to follow her. She took me to a pool of crystal clear water. "Sit." She simply stated. "Thunder…it's a good name…There is a prophecy about you. We have waited long for you to come." Her green eyes stared at me showing no sign of emotion. "What do you mean?" I shuddered. You could tell that I was frightened by the sound of my voice shaking. I mean, I was just released from my orb, at the age of five and now it seems that I have to take on responsibility already. "Don't be frightened young one…as I was saying I have received a prophecy about you. Our kind's rain will soon fall and you'll be the last of our kind to protect a tresure that lies within the temple. The non-gifted are growing in numbers and will attack the temple all because they believe they'll gain our powers from the Celesital orb." "What is the Celestial orb?" I ask. " I special ord that gives who ever comands it will have power unimagined. And if it were to fall in the wrong paws, all will be lost." She said. Sky then tells me that I am to be trained so that I am able to help defend the temple. But she then says that it will be a decade before the war happens. "Sleep young one, tomorrow we shall train…" She said softly as she lay down by the water's edge. Nodding sleepily I lie down and slowly drift off to sleep…

~10 year later~

As I step out of the cloud temple the sense of death is in the air. Instinct tells me that today's the day that we'll all die. A cool chilling breeze sends a shiver down my back. The sound of the Cloud temple door opening distracts me from my thoughts, looking behind me I saw Sky.

What do you sense?" She asked. "That there are rising…

Sky only nodded and walked back into the temple. Walking away from the temple to the edge of the clouds, I sat down to look at the Earth below. I wasn't hard to imagine the clouds filled with dead bodies and stained with blood. A shiver was sent down my spine. The thought made my blood feel cold.

The non-gifted are a clan of Lupes who were born without gifts. No one knows why they were born without them. They live on the far side of the clouds to the east in a temple where the sun never touches. A dark spiraling cloud hovers above the black temple. Rumors say that any one who goes there losses their power and becomes a non-gifted. They also say the non-gifted have obtained dark and dangerous powers from the lack of sun and a strange orb called the Eternal orb. The Eternal ord is the opposite of the Celestial orb filled with evil ready to be relased and if the two were to be near each other then all chaos will break loose. Sky says once the war is over then it'll be by job to make sure that the two ord never collide.

In the distance a soft and low sound of a drum could be heard, growing louder and louder each second. By the time drum stopped, all the gifted lupes had gathered outside the temple to see what the noise was. And to our dismay it was Talo, the leader of the non-gifted. His fur was a sleek brown with grey paws, scars covered his pelt from ear to tail. His eyes were a cold dark amber hiding all emotions.

So Sky are you and your pathic gifteds ready to surrender?" He asked blankly. "Sorry brother but we will never surrender and its best for to leave or you'll be punished." She growled padding up to him. "So be it you have made your choice and now you all shall die. The war will begin at dawn, you have until then to change your mind and give us your powers." He said padding away with his army. "That was your brother?" I asked.

Sky simply nodded as she paded towards her army. Looking up at the sky the sun began to slowly sink behind the clouds. Only a few hours left before the war... Maybe if we're lucky we'll defeat Talo and his army but what are the chances of that? Sky knows that he's too strong but she wont listen to reason and has chosen to fight. I can only hope that at dawn brings us hope and a chance of winning...

As we marched there was not a single sound, the sky was still a navy blue with shades of a lighter blue. The birds werent chirrping not a even a cloud owl whooted. The only sound that could be heard was the trickle of water and wind which seemed to whispering doom over and over again. Stopping he had reached the battle area with Talo and his army waiting. Without a word lupes from both side howled their battler cries and the war began. Instantly Talo and Sky charged for each other each surrounded by their natural element, ice V.S earth. A dark shadow ball struck me right in the shoulder. Turning around I was faced to faced with a shadow covered wolf, not even giving me a chance to think he charged at me. Barely missing him I bit his tail as hard as I could sending bolts of lightning through his body. At first he was stunned then shoke himself as if it was nothing.

Before I knew it the large lupe had tackled me to the ground the sound of his snarling was all I could hear. Dogding his bites for my neck a send a bolt of lightning right for his heart. His loud sharp yelp rung in my ears. Shoving the lupe off me I looked for my next enemy. Lupe after a lupe fell some from both sides the sun had risen fully and we were still fighting. The once white fluffy clouds were stained red and smelt of death. Talo and Sky were covered in fresh wound but kept attacking each other, and by the looks of it to the death.

Dusk was approaching and finally the war was over and only a score of lupes surrvive some from each side. Sky had been one to survive but not for long, limping over to her I could see that she was still breathing but who knows for how long.

Thunder...we did it....now you must take what left of us and they'll help you protect the orbs....It's all up to you..." She whispered as the last of her life faded away. Lowing my head I whimpered she was right the orbs protection was all up to me. Gazing around the battle field the bodies of my friends and foes began to sink deep into the clouds, returning the clouds back to their white fluffy selves. In the distance I see the last ten of Talo's minions fleeing back to the black temple. Leading what was left of my group we too returned back to our temple. A bad feeling lurked within my belly as havey as a stome. Some distant instinct told me that something like this will happen again but worse...
