Plot Information

Tawnyleaf suspects that the clan will be destroyed by Dovestar because she is too 'soft' to protect it from the other clans. She fears that Riverclan will be weakened under the she-cat's rule and the other clans will try to steal territory. Tawnyleaf then strives to prove her strength and wit to the new leader- hoping that if she is chosen deputy she can at least provide some hope for Riverclan. However, Dovestar chooses Tawnyleaf's brother, Minnowpool as deputy instead. Enraged for being overlooked, Tawnyleaf plots to overthrow her brother and Dovestar and replace them with cats that aren't afraid to fight for their territory.

Tawnyleaf manages to convince other Riverclan cats that Dovestar and Minnowpool aren't the best choices by bribing them with the chance to become the new deputy of Riverclan* if they manage to overthrow the leader and deputy (or kill them) and by also explaining to them that the clan will parish if they don't act soon. With her new found associates, Tawnyleaf creates her own army.

Later, while Minnowpool is patrolling the area with a bunch of cats that are allied with his sister, they wait until they are far away from the camp and begin to attack him. They will only let him live, they say, if Minnowpool stops being deputy. Minnowpool refuses, he doesn't want one of the traitors to take his place and manages to fight them off and hurry back to camp. When he arrives at the clearing, the Riverclan cats are fighting each other. Tawnyleaf kept a number of her cats within the camp and gave them the signal to attack while Minnowpool was gone. Minnowpool hurries to help Dovestar, who is being attacked by Tawnyleaf and a few other cats but is knocked over by a traitor and battles him instead.

At the end of the battle, it begins to thunderstorm. Tawnyleaf manages to take one of Dovestar's lives and while the leader is laying unconscious, she pads away to kill her brother. Right before she finishes him off, Dovestar awakens and hurries to save him. Tawnyleaf puts her paw to his throat and taunts her. She says if she comes any closer, Minnowpool will die; if she gives up her leadership and leaves, Minnowpool will be spared. Just before the leader makes her choice, Minnowpool kicks Tawnyleaf in the belly and sends her flying. He manages to stand and threatens her. Tawnyleaf, realizing that she is now outnumbered tells the cats remaining in her army to retreat.

Minnowpool runs after his sister. She stops at the river to tell him that she was always jealous of him and that he never had to work hard before. She hated him the moment he became deputy because she worked hard to get the job and he got it even though he didn't do anything special. When Minnowpool explains that he didn't know how important being deputy meant to her, she hisses at him and plunges into the river. Minnowpool tries to stop her and then save her**, but the river sweeps her away. Saddened by his loss, Minnowpool trudges home to the camp and explains that Tawnyleaf will never harm them again and her minions are nowhere to be found.

* Tawnyleaf believes that she would make a better leader than Dovestar and because it's her idea to 'protect' the clan by 'disposing' of her, she should lead. Anyone who follows her has the chance to become her deputy.
** The thunderstorm makes the river flood and the current runs too quickly for a cat to swim safely in.

Further Notes

Tawnyleaf will need at least three cats to attack Minnowpool and maybe five or seven cats in the camp. That's about ten cats that will follow her. If you are interested in following Tawnyleaf, please let the_lilest_zafara know! Anyone who doesn't neomail Libby and let her know, will be assumed to be a 'good guy' and will be attacked by Tawnyleaf and her army.

We need permission from the cat's roleplayer before we can kill any of their cats (a couple of Tawnyleaf's cats DO need to die) so also let Amara or Libby know if your character can or will be one of the ones to go in battle.
