I don't have a story to tell.

Well..that may not be entirely true. But even if I did have a story.. a past.. something to go back to when my last winter has come..I couldn't tell it.

I don't remember much of anything from before Tuly dug me out of the snow atop this cold mountain. All I can recall is waking to the smell of salt and the sweep of waters upon sand, with no memory of how I had gotten to be where I was.

When I awoke that day, it was to find myself perched atop a high cliff that seemed almost to be at the edge of the world. All I could see before me was water, and all that lay behind was endless forest.

I do remember picking myself up, not knowing who I was or who I had been, and venturing into the forest. For days, I pressed on, from the forest to open plains and from open plains to frigid lands of snow. Some unkown force must have been pushing me on, though I did not know where to or for what reason.

Eventually, I must have collapsed.

That is where Tuly found me, or so he recalls, while he was wandering in the mountains with Nagi the human. I remember that day, too, in the dim hazy collection of sparse memories that I have in my possession.

It was a cold day.

Hey, what's this? Nagi, Nagi, come look!
There's a Lupe in the snow, buried in this snowdrift here.

What.. a Lupe? Is it... alive?

Well, I dunno..But he sure doesn't look dead.
..He's warm! He's warm to the touch!

Well, that sure is strange..buried in the snow like that, it looks like he's been lying there for days.
It's a good thing you saw him, Tuly. We've got to dig him out..C'mon!

I had already begun to stir at the sound of voices where before there had only been emptiness and the echo of my own thoughts. Suddenly, I was overcome by a stunning brightness as the snow covering me was thrust aside, and into the bright arc that the sun cut in the sky appeared a small yellow figure.

He's breathing, Nagi! And he's looking right at me!
the little one exclaimed.

As they dug me from the snow, I who had just swam to consciousness began to drift back into slumber. I was lulled to rest by the fading of their voices and the chill air that whistled across my fur as the snow was swept from my body.

It was cold that day. And yet, I felt warm.

Oh! He's blue and white, Nagi, almost like the snow! And he's so fluffy and warm and soft, too..Nagi, Nagi, we'll take him back with us, won't we? Let's call him....Yun!

What's that, Tuly? Yun?..Like..like cloud, eh?
Yea, Tuly, we'll take him with us. He's going to be okay....
