CAUTION! Petpage under major construction! Proceed at your own risk!
Your eyes open slowly, adjusting to the bright light. You are in a comfortable area, though you can't think for the life of you what it is you are in--it appears of yellow-brown, a padded bowl which is quite large. Quite large. The wind blows in your face, and it is obvious that you are rather high up. But it is comfortable. Where could this be.. what could this be? Somehow, a sense of dread comes upon you. It isn't good to not know where you are.
Once you summon the strength (and courage), you crawl over to the closest edge of the.. basin, and peek over it.. greeted by a vision of a dizzying cliff, you realize that you are far above normal altitude, over the Plateau. Not good, because this can only be one thing.. turning to your right, a great fear is confirmed. Your heart stops dead... a titanic Pteri-like monster looms. "Uh-oh..?
You scramble away frantically, but are sure of your own doom. Needless to see, you're a bit busy at the moment; nonetheless, you hear the scraping of claw against dirt in the background, then the rustling of the straw you're under.. then you fall, the clear blue sky fading away with the immense body of the pterodactyl blocking it seconds later.

Once again, you open your eyes, this time to a dimly-lit area. A blur pops in front of your eyes. Once they focus, you can see the head of a furry Neopet... some sort of muzzle-like form. But he couldn't be a Lupe. He has two tiny fangs which point upward, a triangular nose, and now that he's backed up, you can see a full view. He has large claws--rather nice weapons, you think grimly--and a tail with three spikes on each side and a large bludgeon on the end. He has a large tuft of unkempt hair on top, and a smiling face with wide eyes. Then you see the armor on the back, with tiny spikes in scattered formation. He doesn't exactly look like one, but this must be a Bori because of the armor.

Mornin', there! You slept all day! Welcome back to consciousnes! He smiles and addresses you. Not quite the greeting you were expecting after nearly being eaten alive.
Uuuh..." You manage to utter.
What's yer name? I didn't exactly have time to think about it when I pulled you in away from the Pteri, y'know.
So that's what had happened. This strange creature had saved you! "I'm.. I'm guest. Excuse me, but what.. who are you?"
He gives you a good-natured smile and a wink. I'm Takakota--but please, just call me Tam.

Well, I suppose you must be rather rattled from that, eh? You laugh nervously and nod. Well, guest, I welcome you to my home. And to break the ice and get you a little more comfortable, I shall tell you about myself.
I suppose I shall start with where I came from. By now you've probably figured out that I'm a Bori, and you've probably wondered as to what kind. I know, I look very strange. And anyway, how does a Bori, native to Terror Mountain, come to be in Tyrannia? Well, it goes something like so.

I was born in Terror Mountain, after Hannah and Armin freed the Bori from our slumber in the mountains cores. I was born as a normal brown Bori, with some speckles here and there, just as they still are on my legs, belly, and face, but I was born with strange armor. More specifically, I was grown with armor covering my whole back and my neck, whereas most Boris just have threee large plates. As time went on, my fur became shaggy, and I had much more than any of my family had ever seen on a Neopet. It was strange, I say, to be different; but I didn't mind it so much. Not too long after I became thick-furred, I grew small spikes on my armor, and tail. I was born with the bludgeon, too, though it was much smaller then and had gotten larger with my fur. The spikes on my tail became bigger soon, too. I didn't look natural, y'know!
Anyway, during the hotter days I would go out and tunnel. I'd tunnel and tunnel and tunnel, making passages all around the Mountain (even though the soil and rock could be hard to pierce through). I'd tunneled down to the Ice Caves one day, and making a pointed effort to avoid the Snowager that everyone talked of, began to explore.
I found no great Ice Worm, fortunately, but I did find something else. O, it was getting late, and the sun was beginning to set and spray brilliant colors through the ice, but I paid it no mind. For I'd stummbled upon something I hadn't heard of before. A trench, a tunnel of sorts.

Now, being very eager and curious, though (I admit now) a bit afraid, I went through...
It was dark now. I ran into something which I saw only partially, which growled savagely at me, and I ran past is. I saw trees, which were strange to me, having grown up on the mountain. They seemed to grab out at me, and I became scared. I became very, very scared! So scared, and so tired, that I eventually stopped and burrowed myself a small home in the ground to sleep, and though it took me as much time to go to sleep as I actually rested, I finally dreamed.
When I woke up, I burrowed my way back out and was rather scared and dreadful. But once I came out, I discovered it wasn't scary at all! They were nice trees, acturally, tall and exotic. I didn't know it then, but I'd gone all the way to Tyrannia! Now, if you're an older Neopian you know well about that passage, but if you aren't I'll leave you to discover it. (It used to be on the Ice Caves map, but they left it out when they re-did it. It's history know--but Takakota still knows where it is!)

Well, nothing exciting, I admit, but it was quite exciting at the time! Now, I've got quite a system of tunnels in Tyrannia, where the soil is actually much better for tunnels. But I'm getting off track again. I suppose you would like to hear about those I left behind in Terror Mountain and those I've met, mm? Well, here we go. Who to start with..

Ahh, yes. This is my dear, dear Pfish, Psyion. You see, funny story. Psyion is my first plushie creation, my first ever. I remember the day very well. I was so tiny, I was clumsy with the needle, and I was using a sock for my base. But it came out all right! Then, I woould carry him around everywhere, proud of my work.. I look back now, and it wasn't good work at all. But the fact that I had made Psyion all by myself was enough for me, and still it. I'm not, however, sure how it became alive. One night, I slept with it, and he was just a sock plushie--when I woke, he was alive, a petpet! A real one, not just a stitched version. Maybe Donny did something, because it was Chrsitmas. Yes, I fell asleep in the shop that night.. but what I do know is that Psyion is a cure for any loneliness that might creep up on me in the tunnels. Also, when I need materials but I can't go out, he runs about and get things for me, even without being told! I just can't show enough love towards him...

This is my mom. She's nothing extraordinary on the outside--just a plain brown Bori--but on the inside, she shines like a Glowing Bori. If I have any traits which have to do with kindness and hope giving when it is needed most, and when it is not called for but is always appreciated, I'd like to thank her for it. She taught us all so many things! She encouraged us to go see the world and not let anyone take the better of us or influence our decisions for the worse... though, I have to say, if I hadn't disobeyed her being home before sunset rule, I wouldn't have found Tyrannia.

This would be Dad. He was a funny guy--even the funniest of us kids couldn't outbeat his jokes. He had a way of making a depressing moment a humorous, heart-warming and uplifting one. I inherited his stripe down the back; that's why there's a rather random light brown stripe down my armor. I'd like to think I got some of his sense of humor.. but if I did, I'm not as genius as he is, and I only crack a good one every now and then.

Yes'm, you got it! This is Donny, the wonderful Bori who created the Toy Repair Shop. Ah, yes, many a memory I had in that small little safe haven, and it very well may have created much of who I am. You could call him a neighbour: we moved our home, and then lived next to him in another cave we found near his hut, and you mayn't think it, but he's a wonderful lad. But don't tell him it was me who said that. He likes to put on a grumpy kind of appearance, y'know? Ah, but that's all a long story, 'tis...

Still not feelin' too well, eh? Well, that's unfortunate. But I don't mind entertaining you for a little while longer.
So, now you know where I come from, and how I was and am, but you don't really know who I am, you know what I mean? Well, this might clear things up a bit. I'm a mechanically inclined Bori. Strang? Why, yes, I believe it is too! However, I just am. You remember the grumpy Toy Repair Shop master, right? Well, I used to visit the chap all the time once we moved next to him. Now, at first, he would grumble and mumble at me whenever I canme knocking, but eventually I got to know him. I would come by his shop all the time, and just watch him work on repairing toys with wide, bright eyes... I told him my name, but he has a funny accent, so instead of calling me Tak he called me Tam. It's stuck ever since, even though "Tam" is nowhere in my name. Well, eventually I got brave. I can remeber it like it was yesterday--it was five days after the 25, on the Advent Calendar, and Donny was particularly slammed with work from all the all-too-well-loved toys. In fact, he was working so intent and hard that he didn't even notice me come in the shop, or watch him for about a half an hour. I walked up very slowly to him, and I tapped him on the shoulder, and I said "Mr. Donny, sir?
What?" he responded, not even stopping to look up from his work.
Well, you're particulary busy today, and I was thinking you could use a little help...
What, do you think me incompotent?
No! No, not at all. Please don't take me wrongly, sir! I was thinking that I could repair some of the toys for you. I've been watching you work for a long while now, Mr. Toyman, sir, and I think I could help you out a great deal.
He kept on working without pause for a little while, then smiled and beckoned me over. "Alright then, little lad, c'mon over and get started. Don't just sit there, now!
And I crawled up and sat on his bench next to him, and I began to repair toys. Now, he didn't let me do the difficult things first; he gave me the simplest things he could find. Eventually, I moved up to plushies. Now, I didn't do too well with them, you see. I never was one to enjoy or have patience with stictching cloth. But then I caught on one day--it just kind of clicked--and I enjoyed it greatly, and was making and fixing all sorts of plushies. Then I went to another toy. And so on, and so forth... Eventually, I was repairing closkwork toys and mechanical things. Now, those? I could do those as if they were just a matter of taping it together, which it most certainly was not. They were easy-and I enjoyed fixing them very much. Donny must've seen that, because he gave me all the machanical jobs he could find. Every now and then, I'd get stumped, but I'd always work it out without help.
That's why,. though we're not near it, I have a burrow with a kind of workshop in it. Yes, it's a bit strange that I've got it in the middle of Tryannia, but seeing as everything's connected with tunnels, it doesn't matter all too much!
During the summer, I like to go back and visit my family and Donny. It's nice, because I have free time, and the Tyrannian winters may be cold, benefitting my fur, but the summers are piping hot. It's comfortable on Terror Mountain in th esummer, though, because it's always cool there.
Likes and Dislikes
If you ever do say something, though you aren't feeling so well, I'd like to warn you of my sorespots..

Things I enjoy:
All things Tyrannian, excluding those nasty Pterodactyl...
Cool weather.
Underground spaces--I can't get ewnough of burrowing!
Mechanical things...What can I say? I'm a bit of a gearhead.
Ice cream. Don't ask, it's a Mountain thing...
Things I hate with every fiber of my being:
Scorching hot temperatures. That's why I visit the Mountain in the summer.
Open spaces. I love Tyrannia, even the Plateau, but it is unsafe when you're out in the open and exposed to all sorts of nasty thing--plus, I'm used to the underground, so I feel a bit out of place.

Well, how are you feeling now?
You smile and nod. "I'm fine now, thanks. That was a close call back there! But if it's alright, I'd like to get back to the surface. I'm kind of used to seeing the sun most of the time!
He smiles and nods, the tuft of hair on his head--striped light brown--and the bludgeon on his tail bob up and down. Just tell me where you're aff to, and I'll tunnel you a short cut. With a wink, he turns around and begins to dig. .:~:.
Random: About the Art

Eh heh.. My scanner finally is fixed, and yet it messes things up when they're scanned. -sigh-
All right, I'll start with the background. I don't really like the head and face so much, but it's the one thing I worked the most on wtih colored pencils, so I could have a good background. I was doing all the art while my scanner was broken, so I had only colored pencils to color with, rather than Photo Impression...

Other background image, though, (the black and white one) isn't as bad. Okay, I still don't like it so much: I don't like any of my art so much, that's why I'm always trying to get better. However, I like the pose I got on this one. It actually came out how I wanted it: majestic. What I don't like is that I drew none of these with his stripes showing, because of the angle.=.x I'll be doing better next time..

Roleplay Sample

{I haven't Role-played Tam yet, really, however when I do, it should start out something like this, so you can see my style, and all. I have decided to role-play Takakota as both Anthropomorphic and Quadrapedic, if that's alright. x.e Actually, I already have a role play connection with a friend, and I can't wait to start. :D}
Quad:
The Tyrannian sun shone broightly in the sky, directly up ahead, for it was high noon. It basked the warm earth in its glow, giving life to all under its extendeing arms... Maybe "burned" everything is a better word. High noon during the middle of the summer, on the Plateau was scorching to everything exposed. However, underneath the usually-rocky soil there were two humble creatures who were not at all affected; in fact, they were at quite a wonderful temperature. Underneath the soil the sun did not reach, and it was rather cool--but not too cool to be uncomfortable for the chan of tunnel and main burrow's inhabitants. A scruffy creature and its scaly friend called these personally-dug caverns home: a Tyrannian Bori and Psyion.

Anthro:
Nestled in the corner of the Tyrannian plateau lay a simple cave without anything special to it. It was a home with a sense of coziness to its owner, a sense of foreign-ness to any who visited it, for it had many branches which went off into other caverns, which went off into others, on and on, even going underground in places, with a trickling spring of freshwater if you looked hard and long enough. But the first thing one would see if they entered this home? A workbench. A work bench filled with tools, materials, and scrap paper. The owner of this home, quite obviously, was a bit of a gearhead, and spent much of his spare time taking things apart.. and putting them back togehter, just for the sake of discovering how they worked.

{Of course, it all depends on the setting and such, but it's a kind of base to work off of.}
