Save the Earth, guest!
This petpage's goal is to help you understand the crisis the Earth really is in.
At the end, you can decide if you're a preservationalist (you want all things that disrupt nature to stop), a conservationalist (you think nature and humans can coexist), or a developer (you want to make the most out of nature and use it).
Neomail me with which group you believe you belong in after reading this petpage. Also, it might be cool if you told me what you were before you read this petpage.
Pollution Information

Glaciers melt because of the temperature increase since the
Industrial Revolution. Over the last 100 years, the temperature has increased approximately 0.6 Fahrenheit. Over the last 4 decades, the arctic ice pack has lost about 40 percent of its thickness.

A few species of penguins will die out if the arctic ice pack melts.
Because of global warming, polar bears will be extinct from the wild in a matter of years because the ice floes they live on are melting.
Global warming is sending North Sea fish away from their natural habitat and further up north for cooler waters. Overfishing also threatens the entire ecosystem. (and this is quite recent, I found an article that was written on May 13th!)

This is a satellite image of the Australian Great Barrier Reef. It is 1,240 miles long and it's home to about 400 species of coral and 1,500 kinds of fish. The ocean has to be a certain temperature here, and this would die out if global warming continues.
Ski resorts would have to have shorter seasons, and in southern Ontario____, the length of the ski season would be cut in half by 2080.
If global warming continues, places around the seaside would be
underneath the sea because of glaciers and ice caps dumping unnecessary water into the ocean. In the future, the sea level would rise 55 meters.

Because of global warming, tsunamis such as these are more likely.
Oh yes, how could anyone forget about this article. "The Race to Alaska Before It Melts." Very sad, moving, and very true article. The glaciers in Alaska are melting, very, very fast, the summers are much more hotter, and they've been getting less and less snow.....threatening lives of many species. You should take a look at it in the New York Times archive, June 26th, 2005.
Voice from a conservationalist (dragonmoondew): "Where I live, Washington state, at the ocean there are some Snowy Owls living and hunting at the beach there. Their natural habitat is supposed to be in the Tundra-up north in Alaska, northern Canada, or southern greenland. Some snowy owls from the Alaskan tundra have ventured down from Alaska and started to live on the Washington coast. Not their natural habitat. Scientists say they might be down here because of global warming up in the north. Snowy owls have extreme cold lives up in the tundra-that's why they have such warm feathers. Down here it's wet and sometimes very warm, and the owls might be in danger of overheating, which causes death. I love snowy owls, and I don't want them to be down here. I want them to be in the tundra where they're supposed to be.
In short, pollution causes devastating results. Please help fight it. For a link to this page, you may copy the codes below the ideas and paste it wherever you would like. Thank you for viewing my page.
Things you can do.....
♥ And will you tell all your friends? ♥ Collect signatures, petition, be creative=) ♥ Reuse the water bottles that you can. That eliminates plastic waste. ♥ When everyone in your house goes outside for something, turn off the lights and the air conditioning, to save energy. ♥ Conserve, conserve, conserve. Use less of things such as plastic. ♥ When you're using paper, use both sides unless it's something really really special. ♥ Use the old notebook paper left over at the end of the year for next year. ♥ It's often a better idea to use a cool lunchbox instead of a paper bag. It eliminates paper waste. Or maybe you can use reusable containers as well (eliminates aluminum foil waste). ♥ Don't forget to recycle! ♥ If you're getting a car, perhaps buy an energy-efficient car or a hybrid. ♥ Don't leave the TV on when you're not using it. The same goes for the computer. All it really does is waste a lot of energy. ♥ Visit www.therainforestsite.com and click the button. When you click it, advertisements come up. Sponsors pay for the rainforest you're saving (11.4 square feet every day!) when you view the advertisements.=)
Be creative!=)

Compliments
That's really cool.
Nice graphics.
Cool pictures.
It's great that you're supporting this cause.
Well, I love how you're promoting environmentally-friendly solutions. People are so reckless when they pollute the Earth ;____; We need more people like you to spread the word!
Credits
