Hello Sill it's Melissa :3 This is my tip for the Np guide: 20k Limit: I always keep 20k out with me in case I see something in a shop I want to buy, or in case I get hit by an RE such as the tax beast. If I have any amount over 20k, I put that straight into the bank. For example if I earn some nps from my dailies or Key Quest and I end up with 29k, the extra 9k goes into my bank. This way I am saving money but still have money to spend. If I end up having less than 20k, I don't put any money away until I have 20k. E.g. Something in my shop sells for 3k, but I only have 13k on hand. I take the 3k out of the shop till but keep it out with me so I have 16k. I only start putting money away until I have over 20k again. This method allows me to buy items, but also helps me to save nps at the same time :)

Habitarium

This is Lemoere's final customization. I wanted it to be in a forest, but to also have a certain darkness to it. She also spends a lot of her time at King's castle/fortress, so I though the background was perfect to tie in the two things. The thorns add harshness to it, and the sword shows she is a fighter/warrior. The cape acts as an amulet as well, an important element of her character/past. The cape also adds a bit of personality, but not overpowering.

This is the final customization for Vesru. He is an important military figure, which is why I gave him the jacket and trousers. I did not want them brightly coloured, but not plain either. I also wanted them to look slightly gothic, but not all skulls and doom. The weapons garland helps create this feel as well. The background and smoke help to add a more mysterious feel, which is what Vesru is. Although he is tough and a great fighter, there is a huge mystery surrounding his past.

Malycius was originally my lab-rat until he got zapped into a faerie lenny. I have decided though that I want to morph him into a Darigan Lupe, due to his name and because I know have a character in mind for him.

This is the final customization for Malycius. Due to his name, I think it is quite a good fit him being darigan and to have the warrior look. It was hard deciding on the best sword, but I think the Dark Valentine sword suited him the best, especially colour-wise. I also think it is one of the more decorative swords. The armour is actually part of a set, so that automatically goes together well. I did not want an armoury background, but instead the moon & stars background because it is different and adds a darker feel to it.

I have grown to like green slorg plushies since I think they are adorable! Which is why I have decided to mass collect them. You can see my current total under the image to the left, but no matter how high it gets, I want more!

This is my little key quest tracker, which I am going to use to log all the prizes that I get. I'm mainly doing it out of curiousity I guess, to see how often I get useful items, and how lucky I actually am with it!
I get asked by quite a lot of my friends what to put in a portfolio, how to keep it organized, how to make one. So I've decided to make a mini guide here. It will also actually help me when making decisions. At some stage I will create an actual petpage, but first I need to get all the information together! So lets start this thing off!
The most common question is : How should I set out my portfolio? The actual answer is, there is no specific way! You need to design it so that it fits your needs, and will make you want to actually use it. These are a few questions I usually ask myself before making it:
Would I be more likely to look at my portfolio if it was the full page, or all in one area?
I always ask this first. Your portfolio is meant to be something that is useful to you, therefore it needs to be organized in a way which will make you want to actually read it. Personally, I prefer box layouts because to me it looks much neater, and looks like less scrolling and reading. I also find it easier to make it more decorative. Of course, you could be the opposite and prefer a full length page.
The easiest way to find out which way you prefer, is to look at different portfolios. Ones which are full page and boxes. If you tend to read more of a full page portfolio, then make a layout like that, or vice versa.
REMEMBER: Your portfolio needs to be appealing to you so you actually use it!

Do I want it to be clean, simple and functional, or be more image based?
This will be quite a big decider on how your portfolio layout turns out. Some people prefer more CSS based portfolios which consist of a colour scheme. Others, like me, like to make it more image based and visually appealing. CSS ones are also visually appealing, but I like it to be more vibrant and have images.
You need to decide on this because if you go for an image based lookup, this means you are going to need to edit images in order to fit with the layout and fit in boxes, background etc. If you choose CSS, you need to choose a good colour scheme and work out a lot of coding factors.
Do I need a sidebar or any seperate boxes?
This may seem a silly question, but it's actually quite important. I see some portfolios with a sidebar...which aren't actually used or not very well. I also see portfolios which I personally feel could do with a sidebar or multiple boxes.
A sidebar is used for information that should be visible at all times or important information which can fit into a small space. For example, I use my sidebar for my to do list and links which I visit regularly. I have seen others use it for their top goals or guild links. It's up to you how you use it, but it is also up to you whether you need it or not.
The key part of any portfolio is that it needs to be functional, easy to update and appealing to you. If your layout achieves those three things, you have a 'good' layout.
I feel my tutorials section on has gotten neglected, so I have made it a project to make more! I'm hoping to make a variety of tutorials since there is always people asking about how to make a variety of graphics

This is the main page for my blog, where there is a link to every single blog for easy access.

So it has been a stupid amount of time since I last made a blog, over a month ago... BUT it means a lot has happened!! To start with Eclipse has a brand new layout which I am very proud of, and think it is the best layout I have ever made. I am also now taking button and layout requests because so many people have been asking me to make them buttons! I am having lots of fun at the moment with it, but unfortunately school work keeps delaying me!
I have also created an Art section on my portfolio which is very small at the moment, but it will expand when I get time. I'm also in the process of creating a blocs page, seeming as I keep getting behind in participating in those, so I feel very guilty about that :x I also really need to make some more graphics for the guild, as that section is looking quite bland!
Oh and the biggest thing that has happened is that it was my 16th birthday yesterday..although I'm still a 5 year old at heart, so don't worry Kitty I'm not becoming more mature!
I would write a lot more but I kind of have writers bloc at the moment, and my hands are dying, so I'm signing out for now, but still adding to my portfolio!

So I have FINALLY had time to actually blog...so much happening with exams, other school work and of course Portfolio Upgrade. Had absolutely fantastic participation from the guild for it and was very successful! Big shoutout to all the lovely TNP members!
Ok so updates..yes I have done a fair few updates..just haven't actually written about them XD For starters I have managed to price up all of my item goals amazingly..well some I couldn't price..but all the ones I could are now priced up. Mainly all customization items, but that's because I love all of my lovely pets.
Also been making guild graphics which have been quite fun to do actually. Slowly building that up especially with buttons and banners. Good practice for my graphics skills as well! Oh and nearly forgot (don't know how) but I also added a Key Quest Tracker. I decided to do this because I've always considered myself lucky with winning prizes, so wanted to see how much of each prize I was actually winning. It also is encouraging me to actually play KQ, seeming as it is listed under my neopoint goals section!
Well this blog has mainly been about my portfolio, but I am in love with the layout currently, although I already want to make a new one XD Melissa likes pretty layouts.

Urg I have not been able to blog recently due to a lot happening! Firstly, I have got the Portfolio Upgrade event running for the guild, which is already turn out to be a HUGE success! With 20 participants and already getting likes,reviews and comments..it couldn't of gone any better! It's taking quite a lot of work and organization, but I'm definitely up for it!
Next item of the list, SLORGS! So, my mass collection has basically sky rocketed in the last few days due to some very generous donations! I now have 152 plushie slorgs..and it still continues to rise. I also made two more custom appreciation slorgs, which i think turned out pretty well and look very cute!
Lastly, ITEMS! I finally sorted out my item goals properly by organizing the priorities and finding prices. Couldn't find some prices as some weren't even on the trading post = going to be veeery expensive, but oh well my pets are always worth it! I am really look forward to properly customizing them for once, especially Vesru. I love him to pieces and am so happy now that he is halloween, a definite dream come true for me.
That's really a quick summary of my neo life, hopefully I will be able to blog a bit more and more regularly now that I have most of the major tasks done and dusted!

I haven't done much today, but I have actually got a few more bits done! To start with I finished the text part for the layout section of Portfolio 101 which I think is actually going quite well. I also have written a lot more than I thought I had for it! I feel now that I should definitely make a petpage for it at some point and it should be quite handy for people to use besides myself!
I also started to organize the tutorial section of my portfolio, which I really do need to actually finish. I feel I have been neglecting Shadowed a bit, so I have big plans for it next year! I really want to add some great graphics to it, and maybe even get it ranked at a directory!
Lastly I started the guild portfolio event which I have decided to host to actually get more involved in the guild since they are very good to me. I have named it Portfolio Upgrade and am hosting it here. I absolutely love how the layout has turned out, so hopefully when I add substance to it that will also go well, and of course I hope the event will be successful! And I do promise to be a good host since it is for my guild!
As you can see from the title, I wish everyone a happy new year, let's hope it will be a good one!

Today I managed to finish the Green plushie slorg page! It has it's lovely green headers and a lovely big picture with the plushie count underneath. So in a word, it's slorg-ified. I also added little appreciation slorgs for people who help me collect them! I also made Milk a custom one as a special thanks.
Besides all the slorgs..I haven't added much to my portfolio or done a lot on neo. Although I did start the Porfolio 101 page and I think it is going pretty well. I decided to make it since sooo many if my friends ask me how I made my portfolio, what is it, what you put in it bla bla bla so I made a mini page. I'm hoping when I link people to it though they will actually read it. Not linking it for nothing!
Melissa has also been a little bad today...she didn't check on her habi. *GASP!* Yes it was bad of me, but I got too carried away with the slorgs..but they are sooo cute! But tomorrow I will definitely sort my habi out and maybe fit in key quest.

FINALLY the revamp for my portfolio is coming together! I have finished most of the goals section, just need to do some tweaking, especially to the neopoint goals. I'm really proud of how it has all turned out, I have been wanting to use the nighsteed image again for AGES but did not want to make it look bad! My portfolio is also actually organized which is a miracle in itself! I am going to try my best to actually maintain this portfolio as it's the best coding I have ever done in my opinion!
Today I have also made a monumental decision. From this day forth, I will be mass collecting green slorg plushies. Why? Because I can. End of discussion. I got inspired by my friend Milk who has also given me my first one! Thank you very much! I want to stick with this because I have suddenly grown an attachment to green slorg plushies..so if you have any, pwetty please can I has them?
I have made a lot of progress in the past week, so thank you all you guys for supporting me!
