My eyes burst open and they are flooded with red and orange flames. I search with no purpose blindly through the inferno. I slip on molten rock and fall, laying there I feel overcome by rage because I am lost, or because I cannot be found. The fire stretched on forever yet it did not hurt me. I roared but the flames buried my cries, and then through flames I could see a shining white sparkle, and in that direction, the flames seemed to cool. I followed it, eager to either find freedom, or the person who send me here so I may rip their face off. As I get closer a cool breeze flies over the flames and I can see snow gently passing by. Then, how it was possible I do not know, I heard a soft voice calling out to me. It hummed a tune I would never soon forget. It gave me the strength to dash toward the light. Whether friend or foe, it mattered not, I had to get there. As I approached I found myself hesitating... only a wall of flame held me from reaching the voice. Yet the song continued to call me. I wanted so much to move forward. Slowly I took my steps through the flames. As my vision corrected itself I gazed up an angel, or so she appeared to me. Her eyes were closed as she sang, and ever so subtly she stopped and looked down at me with a smile that seemed to dull the flames. The snow came from the silently flapping wings of a glorious uni, who stood beside the girl. She then approached me and a growl escaped my throat. "Oh no! I'll scare her away." I thought to myself. But she did not flinched, nor did she run. In fact she came closer and knelt before me. Her arms wrapped around my neck and her face nestled gently above mine as she placed a kiss upon my head. For the first time, hatred did not fill my soul and as I stared into those deep purple eyes of hers she said, "You're safe now. I gave you life and from this moment forth, I shall protect it." I didn't enjoy the fact I would be hers, and at the same time, I would rather be nothing else.
Today I spend much of my time by Master's side, although it's not as comfortable as I'd like it to be. She adorns my neck with a heavy chain and keeps my tied down for the most part. It's not because she cares for me any less, but that she cares for all of us equally and that in the past I haven't been good about keeping my rage in check. For instance when I first met Iri, I lunged at him without a second thought. He got away unharmed, but left me a gift across my eye. One day soon I shall return the favor, but with Master around, that day may be a distant dream. I do get into the occasional fight with him but I do not get far because Master is quick to pull my chains. Still I do not complain, for I know she treasures me. I have no quarrels with Intrepid, my older sister, but she still holds no place in my heart. All these others Master cares for are nothing to me, Master is all I see. Severed is quite a peculiar one and I often bite at his heels for he bothers me so. What his issue is I'm not quite sure, but overall I guess you could say my life is "happy". I continue living in this world for as long as my Master is with me.
