Long ago, the people prayed for their own god. A god of their own who would protect them. They wanted a god who would give them freedom from fear and a sense of security. They wanted someone mighty and strong who could scale the oceans and rule the sky. They wanted someone who would be kind and roam the land with them. And, the people were about to have their wish granted. The great gods were going to send me to be their individual god. I was born, a gift of the sky, but as I was being created, a storm had begun to brew and the great gods accidentally dropped me from their heavenly home when a bolt of lightning struck me. I fell to the ground, unfinished and deformed. My leg was broken, but worst of all, I had only one wing. It wasn't even a complete wing. I would never be able to be strong enough to swim in the sea or fly in the sky. I was restricted to the land as an unusual steed with a broken leg that would never be fully healed. The people hadn't yet known of my presence. However, the storm god who had interfered in my creation had seen what he had done. He couldn't heal my leg, but he bandaged it securely and allowed me to conceal my bad wing with magic. Although I could never be the powerful ruler I was meant to be, the storm god granted me a special gift, the power to control lightning, stormy weather, and electricity. So, instead of being a god, I was now given the title "Son of the Storm"

THE FIVE RUNES

When I was born, there were five runes etched on my back. They can only be visible from birds-eye view. It's a brand, burned into my skin forever. The gods had put meaning into each rune. I will explain them to you, from left to right.

Ehwaz: This is the first rune on the far left, meaning "horse" in Norse. It represents a journey and movement. My life will be an endless journey of discovering and adventure.
Othila: The rune of ancestral land. I rule the lands of where I am from. It also stands for family and unity.
Laguz: Laguz is the rune of water and birth, but in my case, birth. It's the center symbol which marks my birth from the sky.
Thurisaz: This is Thor's rune for protection. I was destined to be a protector, but since I haven't got the elements to be a full god, maybe I'll find something else to devote my protection to.
Nauthiz: The rune of need and constraint. This was the last rune etched into me after I fell to the ground. I will always have limitations, as I can probably do less than the average uni, but I will always have the constant desire for something I will never get. Even with this rune, I'll try to be the best I can be.
