Season;; Spring, New-leaf. Winter is just leaving and the prey is starting to return. However, the ground and air are both more moist and wet than usual as the snow is still melting. Ice chunks float in the river and piles of snow lie around the forest. The temperature is just rising off of 29° F.

Prey;; Prey is beginning to reemerge but at a very slow pace. The clan's majority of food species at this time would be small birds and toads. The fish will come back stronger than over in about three weeks, hopefully. Until the furry and wet critters come back we will be surviving off the minimal.

Recent Ceremonies;; There haven't been many ceremonies lately. Surely there will be many more once the aftershock of the last battle dies down and more clan cats are born.

Welcome

Here is a thumbnail of the guild homepage. In case you were wondering. ^^

Guild Update: StreamClan has finished it's revamp! Bear in mind some altercations are still taking place. We are now advertising again and we will go private again once we hit somewhere around 18-22 members. Council applications are open! Claire has decided that Council applications will end June 5th. That should give us enough time to decide on a plot, have everyone who wants it apply, get the members we feel we need, and have everything {jobs, activities etc.} working very well. The Mad Libs and Trivia are officially open, so go do those little activities right away. StreamClan would like to welcome it's newest members, Skyy, and Sora, to the guild. We hope you find Streamclan to be just as perfect for you as we expect it will be! We're going strong with 14 members, you guys, keep it up! Also, don't forget to suggest a plot, and remember, council applications are open! Follow the portal's links for application forms and the plot section(on the main webbie.) Follow, follow, follow, follow the yellow brick road! Er, portal road!
Clan Update: As for roleplay, nothing past basic cat interaction has been happening. Sunfur, Catsitta's character, was bothering Claire's senior warrior Autumnwhisker with his peppy behavior and flattering compliments. Shatteredpool, also a male warrior of Catsitta's, was avidly watching Bloodclaw(Catsitta's blind rogue), and found out that she doesn't like to be stared at when she attacked him mercilessly! Stainedpaw, Meli's medicine cat apprentice, arrived on the scene just a moment too late, only to be blown off by both cats. Sage, Meli's female rogue who is staying with the clan, brought Sterling, Glory's female rogue, to Ashstar. Let's figure out a plot so that, by the time we reach 18 members, we'll have something interesting to roleplay!
The new rogue, Sterling, was introduced to Ashstar, who promptly froze up because of her physical relation to Shadowwing. A hunting patrol or two also went out, stocking up the clan's food supply. It looks like it'll be a good summer for Streamclan, but some cats remain tense after the rogue battle. Injuries are still not fully healed, and many are a bit shaken, wondering if the clan is really, truly safe now. Not to mention, more and more small fights have been breaking out between the clan, such as the ones between Bloodclaw and Shatteredpool, Sunfur and Autmunwhisker, Sterling and Scout. Hopefully, things will calm down with the arrival of plentiful prey and warm, relaxing days.
Right now, all is well for StreamClan. Plots are being mulled over, so do your part by contributing your ideas to get the drama started!

How to Join StreamClan

StreamClan is inactive on a slow day(s) when it comes to roleplay, but everyone still posts and talks ooc. When a roleplay happens, though, we get VERY active. So active, we're forced to warn you about it, we have had people leave because it was too active. But that is why we have roleplay updates! Apparently they didn't read, so it is very important that you keep up.

You must also follow all of the rules. (Read the warrior code. All of it. Every single sentence. I worked hard on it)

StreamClan is a big family, we know everyone very well. We love each other. :333
So if you want to join, you must be kind, love-able, and friendly. (: Anyone rude and grumpy will not be liked by the guild. Remember the golden rule!
Also, be able to handle some of Claire's sudden outbursts. xD

We want helpful members, whether you are on the sub council, council or not. If we need someone to make a page for the guild we would love you if you volunteered. If you don't volunteer for anything, you might be considered a slacker who doesn't really care.

To join StreamClan, send this form to any one of the current council members:

An evaluation of the form:
Name- your name, of course. It's easy, just what you want to be called.
Main Account- your main account on neo so if you don't go on the account you joined on we can neomail your main account to remind you.
Activeness- how active you are on the guild board.
Literacy- chatspeak, semi-literate, literate, or advanced?
Tell us about yourself- Don't say, "I like the guild." That's nothing. Tell us SOMETHING. Your favorite things, your hobbies, your age; show us your personality.
Roleplay sample- easy. Just your average roleplay post.

This form is not meant for you to be judged. We just want to get to know you before you join. (= We will notify you with the verdict.

Warrior Code

! No chatspeak, please. 'lol', 'rofl', 'brb' and smilies are welcome, though. We like to express ourselves :3 Use correct grammar and punctuation. We know about the apostrophe glitch, just put an apostrophe at the very beginning of your message and it goes away. OOC is a must if we are talking out of character.
!! You must keep the fantasy to a limit. No cannibals, no vampires, robot cats, magic cats, purple cats. We want to stay as relevant to the books as possible without being a clone. Cats with purple, blue (without being blind), black, or red eyes are acceptable, but they are not liked. You have to keep it realistic, kits can't attack a badger. Kits can't suddenly have warrior/apprentice moves if they have never learned them (it does not count if they have seen someone fight, you can't learn like that).
!! Please, keep standard roleplay rules. No one liners. The other person you're roleplaying with has to carry on the roleplay by themselves, which is really hard. They have to keep it moving and interesting, they have to do all the work while you just write something like: "He looked at the freshkill pile. Also, keep everything under PG13. Godmoding and Powerplaying are strictly forbidden.

Plot

Well the first plot since we reopened just ended! Yay! According to the poll the guild wants to decide the next plot to be sometime at the end of February. Here are our options. Once we have enough options then we'll have a vote on what plot we want to do. Please remember that plots are no fun if your character stays immune and perfect. It's exciting to get into character and play along with the disasters and whatnot. Do not ever just leave the creator of the plot to roleplay it. Play with your characters!

Liz's Idea
Well in my old Warriors rp guild I played a character who joined the clan and became good friends with everyone. But she was a spy from the rouges, and was meant to kill the leader when she got the chance and do anything she could to mess with the clan. But she fell in love with a tom in the clan, and he made her doubt her commands. xDD It was so great. I was hoping maybe we could so something like that since we have the whole enemy rouge thing going.

Claire's idea:
StreamClan is the only clan in the land losing their connection with StarClan. So what happened? The clan is tumbling into turmoil and suffering reeks among the cats once they are disconnected from their ancestors. Misery and depression overcomes the clan cats and they can't help themselves from becoming shells of the magnificent cats they used to be. But one day, due to the arrival of a pure and holy-like cat, their world opens up. He/she invites them to a world where all that matters is the present and each other, and harmony can last years just by love and teamwork. However, all weak links must be annihilated. The clan opens this preacher with open arms and since they have basically no hope as it is, they take his/her advice in hopes of moral salvation. The clan decides to give up on StarClan like how StarClan has given up on them. There are some protests to drop StarClan and the protesters urge to accept StarClan's indifference as tough love, but the other cats say this has gone long enough. The clan decides to convert religions. Same rankings but the code changes, it is now called, "The Code," instead of, "The Warrior Code," and the cat that came to them preaching this idea is seen as the cherubic priest. All seems to be tranquil and harmonious for the longest time. They have found peace at last. The cat has taken over the clan now by manipulation, interaction, and psychology. It's when he/she takes their power too far by suggesting StreamClan breaks everything apart to new- their ranks, their rules, their entire society that blood begins to boil. Who will stand up to the truly power thirsty cat that brought them paradise and risk being considered a traitor of StreamClan?

Lunar's Idea:
Well, it had different charries but alright...// Cats from LunarClan(my Clan) were disappearing before the Clan leader's, Tawnystar(Tawnystripe), eyes. Every morning at around noon a new cat is gone and no cat knows where those cats go. But the thing is, many killers are there as well...
Where they transport to are a far Twolegplace far from LunarClan. It's Leaf~Bare with little food and many Twoleg monsters and their warm-blood eaters- dogs. There are hundreds of dogs roaming the streets and gardens of these twolegs and each desire to escape and kill.
The threats are too much for the cats as many die or suffer. The pollution in the air and water and scarce prey there is terrible. The only way the cats can survive are being captured by Twolegs and living off Kittypet food. Would the Clan ever forgive them? But will they ever get home?
StarClan is too far to be heard or seen by the Clan cats and are hopeless. But one last thing... there is a traitor among the disappearing cats. And he/she is ready to kill them all for her/his own sake of living.

Lissy's Idea:
There has been a disease outbreak in the forest. But no, this is not a disease that kills. It is described to be much worse. It is burdened upon it's victim slowly, and often is unnoticed until the major symptoms appear. Just an innocent breath of fresh forest air could infect a cat. When first infected with the disease, the smaller symptoms are unnoticeable to barely noticeable. The first symptoms of this mysterious disease vary from small muscle joint pains and confusion. These symptoms are just summed up to be lack of sleep, usually. But after a week or so, things take a drastic change for the worse. The infected cat almost instantly looses all of their memory. Yes, all of it. After their sudden loss of memory they also start seeing stuff that isn't really there. Basically, they're going insane. All seems hopeless for the Clan, their best warriors are falling under this destructive illness with no hope of returning. However, it is one night where three cats receive a dream, and an answer to this mysterious illness from StarClan. But to reach the cure of the disease, they must set off on a journey, unsure if they will come back themselves, to save the lives of their fellow Clan mates.

Meli's Idea:
StreamClan, as a few of the other plots mention, is going downhill. Ashstar is losing his mind, sending all the cats into a panic. Duskpelt and Quietheart struggle with their loyalties, not sure whether to follow their hearts or their clan. Stainedpaw is hardly receiving the proper training, and more and more outsiders are being let in the clan, leading StreamClan to rapidly diminish from the strong-blooded clan it used to be. Even the average cats of StreamClan have been fighting amongst themselves, resulting in a tense, forced air around camp.
Something must be done, and everyone knows it. Even the most tuned-out of cats can sense the chaos in the air. Some insist that everything will be fine, and some demand change.
And then, one tom comes up with an idea. Ivorystep(Meli's character) has always shown qualities of a leader, all the way down to the power-thirst. He's strong, young, and smart, the perfect combination. This warrior was determined to be a loyal clan cat, but he'd always fought with his urge to feel needed. His urge to lead. The warrior never felt like he really belonged as a clan cat. He always felt he had a greater destiny, a greater path, and it had weighed down his shoulders for long enough. Finally, he snapped. Ivorystep, seeing StreamClan at it's weakpoint, announced to the other warriors that he was leaving. Creating his own clan. Word has hardly just spread, and nothing has gotten to the higher ranks yet, but it will, which is why Ivorystep wants to move fast. This clan will be stronger, faster, will easily take over the forest. Ivorystep claims it will be different than StreamClan, he declares that he will take a m-te, and appoint a beta male and female. There will be a medicine cat, warriors, and apprentices. And it'll only take a few desperate cats, blinded by worry, for Ivorystep's(star's?) plan to take off. With powerful leadership positions free for the taking, many will not be able to resist. But some will say no, sticking with the clan, for that's all they've ever known. Ivorystep, though, says eventually all the cats will come, resulting in a flourishing clan. He doesn't fill in the details that a few battles might get in the way.
The result? A Civil War between the two halves, with an outcome that only the StreamClan cats can decide.

Raiin's Idea:
Since the winter chill is thawing from the cat's humble abode, they expect plenty of prey. After a bit of eating slimy toads and small mice, the clan starts to get worried. Soon, the fresh kill pile is very, very low. Prey is scarcer than ever, and the cats of StreamClan are getting hungry. Very, very hungry. After a couple of long, prey-less days, 2 warriors/mentor and apprentice/etc go hunting/herb finding/etc, and they stop to get a quick drink at a nearby stream. As one bends down to lick, they notice a nasty substance in the water (oil, gas, pollution, etc) that gruesome twolegs have been depositing in their waters. They snarl in disgust as they notice nearby toads rotting from the murky water. They rush back to Ashstar to report the story. StreamClan struggles with their food supply, avoiding the disgusting streams and ponds. Will StreamClan ever get their prey back? Will they eventually have to move their clan? Nobody knows, and it's up to them to somehow stop it.

Liz's Second Idea:
So, another cat is planning to form their own clan to override StreamClan. (I don't know who that is; the rouge clan leader? 0_o) They send a cat who's following them to go join StreamClan and act as a spy. The she-cat he sends is also on a mission to kill Ashstar so it will be easier to destroy StreamClan. However, the she-cat falls in love with one of StreamClan's toms. She doubts her leaders choices and decides she cannot kill Ashstar. Meanwhile, her leader see's that she has failed. But he had a back up plan. He and his cronies (including the she-cat) are immune to a disease that had wreaked havoc on their ancestors years ago. (bird flu?) Unfortunaly, the leader knows where to get the source of the disease. He finds it, and deliberately gets the prey in StreamClan's territory infected, thus infecting the cats who eat them. The disease threatens to kill off the clan, and the rouge leader plots a final attack. The she-cat spy he had sent will do all she can to stop them, but it would be classic if she died while trying. xDDD Well, there ya go. How does that sound?

Claire's Second Idea:
The nobles of StreamClan are tumbling down at a treacherous rate. Ashstar is slowly drifting into insanity, Duskpelt's heart is torn between love and duty, and Quietheart's soul belongs elsewhere. So, what are the clan cats supposed to do? Some of the most important characters of the clan are about to crash and burn; how will the clan survive without them? All that the average cats know is that Ashstar is troubled- but he will stay true to the clan, right? and Quietheart and Duskpelt will not to be here, for reasons unknown. The noblest cats of the clan are being put to the test- are they really the heroes the clan thought they were? What will happen once they have taken their leave; whoever will leave at that. A giant question mark rests on the forehead of every cat. {Ashstar won't leave but the clan believes it so.}
Ashstar knows it better than anyone that the clan must decide the new lofty cats soon. But who? If Duskpelt and Ashstar leave at the same time there will be no one, and surely Quietheart will pass before Stainedpaw even receives her name. Something must be done. So Ashstar creates The Catalyst's Tournament, a play-off between the cats of two groups, the ones fighting for deputy role and the ones vying for the status of medicine cat. All those of age and health may apply. Cats who desire the rank and feel they are best for it must pass a series of challenges to narrow down the winner all to find the best cat for the rank. But was this a good idea?
Betrayal. Hatred. Love. Cheating. Pain. Sabotage. It will all push StreamClan to the threshold of annihilation. The once petite, sweet, independent cats of StreamClan become thirsty for power and will do anything for just a taste. The cats have become corrupted, will their minds be saved?

Claire's Third Idea:
As we all know, StreamClan is losing touch with StarClan as it is. We've always believed that when cats die they go to StarClan, but after Jaguarstep {or anyone else} passes away, many cats start gossiping about seeing his appellation wandering the forest. Even Galaxypaw, Jaguarstep's son, is a little creeped out when he sees his deceased father watching him hunt. So, what is going on here?
Ashstar and Quietheart travel to the Crystal Tunnel to find out. The cats of StarClan do not wish to talk to them except for Shadowwing and several other former StreamClan cats. They do not give the reason why StarClan is not speaking with them, but they do confirm that they are not accepting any more StreamClan cats, and so StreamClan cats who die must suffer and wander the land as phantoms.
How can the StreamClan cats save their ghastly friends from across the grave, and save the clan from afterlife suffering?

FAQ

StreamClan does not have a forum. We roleplay on the guild's board, and for roleplays with other clans we play on the roleplay board. If it gets into a problem, we'll make a forum. Because not everyone can be on all day everyday, this is how we would roleplay if no one was available:
Claire and Ty are roleplaying, Claire leaves and has the last post, Ty replies then leaves. The next time Claire is on, she replies to Ty's post. If someone can't be on for a long time, they will let a more active person roleplay their character until they come back. But if a couple days have passed since Claire and Ty have last roleplayed, or someone else wants to roleplay with a character Ty was using before with Claire, we can end that encounter between our characters and move on.

We do not do one-liners, use proper capitalization and punctuation. For chatspeak we only allow 'lol'. We are not harsh on typos or misspellings, it happens to everyone, we don't mind. We talk ooc often and use smileys. If any of this is a problem for you, we can't do much about it. Because of the occasional apostrophe glitch, put an apostrophe at the beginning of your post and it goes away.

Q: When do seasons change in the roleplay?
A: When seasons change in real life. If outside your window/wall it is spring, then the roleplay is set in spring.

Q: Help! I can't join!
A: This page should help you.

Q: If I were to join as a kit, would I have to wait for a queen to give birth?
A: Good question! No, you don't. StreamClan doesn't always have queens available, so you can just join as a kit whose parents might have died or they have been abandoned.

Q: Does my character have to be related to another cat to be one that I can join with, or would it just have to be a rogue?
A: Nope, you can if you want to. But you can just join as a cat who is already in the clan.

Q: When I introduce myself, do I have to say what I can do for the guild etc?(you might have had to explain this in any kind of application)
A: Nope! It's really casual here in StreamClan. Just say your name, who you are, what you like, and maybe the name of your character.

Q: Would I join the Guild first, get known by everyone, and then join the roleplay?
A: You just need to introduce yourself first and send frankie_says your character information. You can jump in the roleplay whenever, whether you know every single person in the guild or not! However, it's always polite to say hi to a couple people at least first.

Q: Can I make a plot?
A: If a plot is open to be done, do it! Neomail a council member about it.

Q: How do you change ranks?
A: It all depends on your post count. If you are a Queen in post count you don't have to have a Queen as your roleplay character. If you are a kit in post count you can have a warrior as a character.

Q: What are plots, anyway?
A: Okay, plots are as follows:
One or more people make up a story that can involve the entire guild, usually involving a battle or something of the sort. Sometimes it involves a dangerous disease. The leader(s) of the plot are the people who control the plot, they decide the major events, they have control of the ending and beginning. The other people in the guild, who are not the leader(s) of the roleplay, just follow along and go with it.
Example:
Claire made a plot about StreamClan fighting off a disease. Katie, who did not make the plot, might have one of her cats catch the disease. But her cat WON*T have some dream that says how to cure the disease because Katie did not make the plot and has no control.
Make sense?

Q: Can I make a suggestion to the site/guild?
A: Please do!

Q: I can't be on all day, every day to roleplay. Is that okay?
A: Sure is! Just be on at least three times a week.

Q: What if I want my cat to die in a roleplay?
A: You could have it be an accident, or you could neomail another player and ask if they want both of your cats to be in a fight and your cat dies.

Q: No one is on when I am on! I might just leave the guild but I want to stay. What do I do?
A: Try planning a time (NST) for someone to get online_

Q: How do we roleplay with other guilds?
A: We set up a date and time and roleplay on the neopian public RPG board.

Q: Why have I been deleted from the guild?
A: Probably because you were inactive and NEVER posted, you were rude, or you didn't follow the rules. If you have been deleted, please don't tell people bad things about us or come back uninvited. It's rude.

Q: I was deleted, but can I rejoin?
A: Because many people have been leaving, rejoining many times we are being very strict on this. Neomail Claire at least one paragraph with reasons why you feel you should come back, if you learned your lesson, and why you choose StreamClan. Don't expect to be taken back in easily.

Q: I'll be gone for several days/weeks, will I be deleted?
A: If you tell us you will be gone and put the dates on the guild calendar, you will not be deleted.

Q: Can I use, "brb", "lol" and smileys?
A: Yes, but proper grammar, capitalization and whatnot is necessary in roleplay. In OOC you may talk sloppily, but only like, "i have a cupacke :3." Saying "u" instead of "you" is not allowed.

Q: How much can we talk ooc (out of character)?
A: As much as you want.

Q: Can I be on council?
A: The entire council has to trust you and like you. You must be active, you must be literate, you must be friendly. You should also have been in the guild for at least a month. Don't just apply saying, "I think I'm good enough for council." That is not good enough. For more info, go to the Council/Sub Council page.

Jobs

The senior members of StreamClan have been assigned to 3 jobs to hold up for the guild. If you would like to help out and do a job too while gaining respect in the guild, neomail Claire. (: The jobs can be seen, described, and listed here.

See you!

A ton of thanks to Shu for making us this page and being such an awesome member and friend. ^^ We love you, Shu!
