welcome

Welcome to the Predominance website! If you are reading this, either you were referred by one of our awesome members, or you were very bored. Let's get started. :)

Predominance comes from the adjective "Predominant", which has several meanings. It can mean to have superior strength, influence, or authority, or the quality of being more noticeable than anything else. We are a fairly new, 100% literate, totally private, supah A C T I V E themeLESS guild. To live up to our name, we pride ourselves on having lovely graphics &&coding, non-n00bish members, and a safe, stress-free, relaxed &&chatty enviornment. Filled with tons of activities and countless ways to help out, there's something hand-crafted for everyone, from the graphics maker to the advertising nut. Since we do a member cap of 50 members (max.), we are proud to say that we have a homey feel to our guild. We love the closeness that we share and happily welcome new members to our family.

Predominance was created on June 6th, 2009 (Jubjub day, woo!) by Ray. As the guild began and members poured in, Ray decided she couldn't run the guild alone. In came Genie. Together, the two owners created, planned, advertised, and built what is now Predominance. However, the work isn't done yet. Oh no. Deep in the regions of our owners' brains, ideas are formulating. Plans for new ways to improve &&upgrade. A stable but ever-changing guild, we can promise that we're not going to die anytime soon. We care more about quality than quantity. We would rather have 10 active, interesting members than 49 unactive, boring ones. We hope to be around for years &&grow. Thank you for checking us out, and remember -- we're the bombinance!

our rules

Like most guilds, Predominance has its own set of rules you must follow. Breaking a rule will result in a warning from an owner. If still ignored, you will be deleted. Harsh? Maybe. It's your own fault for breaking them in the first place.

1. All posts must be fully literate -- Is it really that hard to use proper spelling, grammer, and punctuation? You have a full keyboard- use it! We can stand the occasional omg!, brb, g2g, lol! etc. Please d0n+ +a1K 1iK3 +hi5. It's very hard to read, let alone understand.

2. Don't spam -- We don't like spam. It clogs up the guild board and is a complete and total waste. Minimum- 3 words per post, and no more than 2 posts in a row.
SPAM = stupid pointless annoying message.

3. NO DRAMA! -- We've had problems with drama in the past. It got so bad that it made our guild board tense, awkward and not fun. If you have a problem with another member, take care of it through neomail. Because honestly, it doesn't matter to us, and we are not going to put the guild through that tense state again. To keep the guild peaceful, simply be kind and respectful to everyone.

4. Stay active -- Predominance cannot function without its members! Try and post at least once or twice a week, and participate in all that we have to offer! If you know that you are going to be gone for an extended amount of time, please neomail an owner and put it on the guild calender (just in case). That way we know you aren't just ignoring us. Random member sweeps will also be held to keep our activeness in tact.

5. Follow all of TNT's rules -- It's sad that we actually have to put this up here.

ranks

In a way, our rank system is much like any other. The only difference is that you don't actually have to complete all the requirements to be ranked up. This is more like a guideline to help the owners decide who should rank up.

SWAY -- Congratulations, you have been accepted into our guild! This is your default rank. Make sure you introduce yourself on the message board, read through our Web, join a team, and explore Predominance. :)

CONTROL -- We figure you can be somewhat trusted now. You have posted 300 (non-spam) messages, participated in 3 activities or events, earned 30 points for your team, and have been caught advertising 3 times.

EDGE -- Well. . . you're getting there. Good job on making it this far. You have posted 500 (non-spam) messages, participated in 5 activities or events, earned 50 points for your team, and have been caught advertising 5 times.

SUPREMACY -- Obviously, you like a challenge. You have posted 700 (non-spam) messages, participated in 7 activities or events, earned 70 points for your team, and have been caught advertising 7 times.

LEADERSHIP -- The rank name speaks for itself. You can be fully trusted by not only the other members, but the owners as well. You might just be on your way to council. . . You have posted 900 (non-spam) messages, participated in 9 activities or events, earned 90 points for your team, and have been caught advertising 9 times.

YOUR NAME HERE -- It's pretty cool, once you're in council, your rank becomes your name. However, it's not easy getting on council. The owners must all know you and completely trust you, and you will be given a lot of responsibilities. Not to say it isn't fun, but you better prepare yourself for plenty of work!

room for potential

We have just recently held our major mass meeting and have come up with new ideas for ways for members to get involved!

Council Elections: Once a month, members will be eligible to apply for council. The Council will then narrow it down to four candidates. The chosen candidates must then make a campaign to prove themselves worthy and try and get as many votes from their fellow Predomians as they can. If there is a tie or disagreement in the votes/campaign, The Council will have veto power. Predominance democracy FTW! ~

NPPD (National Predominance Public Day): Predominance will go public for one day every month. WOAH.

the point system

In Predominance, you can earn points for your team. When you apply, please tell us which team you would like to be on (Complexity or Simplicity). For more information, please check out our teams page.

Although we know that points aren't as cool as prizes, you still get bragging and recognition rights. :) Not only does this help your team, but it also contributes to your status at the guild. Obtaining a job and participating in activities is an easy way to earn points, but there are other ways. This includes:

Being caught advertising, Hosting a page for us, making awesome graphics and being an overall amazing member!

the application

Now we come to the best (and most fun) part of our Web -- the application. As previously stated, Predominance is private, and we only accept the best. Please fill out the application below as best you can. We have re-written our application to make it more fun and less of a stress. Be creative with your answers! So many guilds have a tough, stressful application to join. Nuh-uh. Not us. Please copy &&paste the application below and send it here, to us. Make sure that the topic is Predominance application, please. :)

1. Name:
2. Can you make graphics and/or code?
3. A little about yourself:
4. A talking peach tells you that he has lost his best friend mango. What do you do?
