completely. alone.

take a deep breath. it's ok. it's fine. you'd rather be alone here, right?

of course.

but how could you possibly be so alone in this vast, vast land?
well...the simple answer is...

you aren't.

where am i?

ACT Organization

the ACT organization - Anti-Crime & Termination - was founded by the Master. Her name shan't be spoken. the ACT is commonly known to...er, radicals, as "The Bureaucracy." Although i highly discourage calling the organization by that name, some of the most significant executives are notorious for adhering to the pseudonym. it's usually disgraceful to call us anything but The Organization or The ACT. okay?

alright. moving on.

nothing is known about the Master besides the fact that She is the unwritten "leader" of the Sequence. She has authority and us dream-dwellers feed off of her power. she has founded the Bureaucracy, which is a political organization within the ACT focused on controlling...er...regulating the organization and its occupations. we are by no means a totalitarian organization, according to Master. incidentally, Master mostly associates with the "Terminators" league of ACT. She's actually a schizophrenic human who travelled to the Sequence as a young child. might i add--the Sequence allows no aging. since no spirits or souls are manifested in the Sequence, any creature that decides to reside there, remain the same age/appearance (unless they decide to change their appearance, which many do). Master personally decided to morph herself into a rabbit-anthropomorphic being.
note that many animals travel to the Sequence in hopes of becoming "human", or taking on a humanoid form. sometimes they keep their animalistic characteristics. there are many of these in the Sequence, as animals, for some reason, can normally find the Sequence and dwell in it easier than humans.

Terminators? what's this?
oh, here, let me explain. there are different "segments" of the organization. i personally don't fall under a specific category. the segments each have their own duties, usually dealt by the Master. Some segments are simply just social devices and not used for ACT, but simply for identification. here are the major segments & their workers :

Terminators: They are the "military" portion of ACT. they travel to earth as humans and put good humans to death, so they do not have to suffer on the horrid planet Earth, and can (hopefully!) find their way to dreamland. Terminators must be cunning & careful, because the Earth "government" (of course ruled by the evil woman) considers them high on the bounty list. did i mention Master is a *huge* feminist? well, she is, and she considers women to be most cunning and strong. most of the Terminators are women.
characters: Skylar, Lacey, Karis, Kitty

Navigators: Navigators normally explore the Sequence in search of the evil woman's territories. they usually are humans who take on anthro forms (everyone likes to be an anthro because you get the perks of a human and the senses of a creature!). they usually have animal counterparts, which help them explore.
characters: North & Drakka, Lukas (Owl) & Baltimore, Aria (Raven), Mako (Mermaid).

Technicians: They are the "brains of the bunch". technicians do research & occasionally science experiments of their own; they are a top-secret business and unfortunately that's all i can divulge.
characters: Nuke, Roger, Felicia

Mimes: they, quite literally, play god. or angel/devil, at least. they pretend to be angels or demons (whichever technique suits the person, to each his own). they travel to Outerlands (between Earth and the Sequence) to search for wandering souls. they appear as either an angel or demon, and try to coax the soul into entering the Sequence (depending on whether the soul is a good soul or not!). they will occasionally appear to dying humans on Earth.
characters: White (angel), Gabe (angel), Damien (demon)

Guardians: Guardians such as i guard the entrances/exits to Earth and the Sequence. there are only 3 of us, but i'm sure there are other "lesser employed" Guardians around the Sequence, guarding important figures and protecting Master.
characters: Star

Norms: just average humans who have found their way into the Sequence. some don't harness enough metaphysical power to alter their forms, so they remain in a human state for most of their time in the Sequence. nearly all humans who visit from their dreams, are in the Norm state.
characters: usually randoms.

Neo's: Neo's are animals who have converted to anthros. (NOT humans who have converted to anthros). they may return to Earth as they please, as their animal counterparts. (animals are easier at this than humans...no one knows why...). the term NEO stands for 'newly engendered organisms'. (Neo's can fall under any other specialization as well, but most are just ~there~)
characters: Brooke, Suki, Tzumo, Star

hybrid creatures

some creatures exist only in the Sequence. these creatures are called hybrids, and their species include "drakkons, griffins, and reinwolves". drakkons are wildcat/dragon hybrids, griffins are wildcat/bird-of-prey hyrbrids, and reinwolves are deer/canine hybrids. this usually happens due to a genetic misprint when dna is transferred from Earth to be copied into the sequence. pretty nifty, though, eh?

political actions

Bureaucrats: Headed by the Master, Bureaucrats most significantly help to regulate the political climate and to make sure all citizens are doing their part. we could not have infinite tranquility if it weren't for the Bureaucracy, the masterful creation engendered and espoused by the Master. sometimes it's hard to differentiate between them and the "norms", which is good, i think. albeit the rumors of rebellion, which doesn't exist, of course, the Bureaucracy is the almighty and equivocal power.
characters: classified

Tea Parties: just like any classic tea party, these are unique in that they only consist of ladies. they stand highly for gender equality and womens' privileges (which are most often met due to Master's stand regarding these principles), and usually support the Bureaucracy. however, they eschew the Bureaucracy and claim themselves as totally separate from the Bureaucracy.

characters: Marzapan, Jhaydenn, Bela, Fuzzelle

Figureheads: okay, well, that's what we call them. they're the kings and queens and princes and princesses, the royal blood, of the Sequence. of course, since we promote equality, theyre really no better than anyone else. they just like to pretend they're important, but no one treats them differently much at all. they act like they rule the lands, but they don't; the Bureaucracy controls all actions. some Figureheads regulate the local economies, and sometimes the Bureaucracy points one or two as a local ruler, but they do not have much power at all. they usually ascend from royal blood on Earth. either that, or very poor people who just want to spend their eternity in lavish and luxury.
characters: Jhaydenn, Vezryn, Fuzzelle, Willmington

Rebels: i'm not supposed to acknowledge the existence of these radicals, but i want to warn you of them. they want to destroy the Bureaucracy for no rational reason, and they want to promote their own version of liberty, which is foolish. there are different waves of rebels: the "royal rebels" (as in, some of our own Figureheads! we do not know which, however), the "bandies" (norms who spread propaganda via music. they are known to be peaceful), and the "natives", who want to return to a much more primitive time, or even return to Earth. silly people. their ideas of paradise are recreating Earth evermore. that is a paradox!

story

book 1

i was the first creature to meet Master.

she walked up to me with her warm, unassuming hands; she touched my head.
where am i.. it wasn't a question. it was a command.
that's when i knew.

we had been without a form of leadership for quite some time. it was time for someone to give us courage, to feed us power. energy emanated from her small fingers. her jet black hair, cut in a stylish bob, shone radiantly; a sign of healthiness.

this is the Outerlands, i explained. i told her everything i told you about the Outerlands and the Sequence.
i see. take me to the Sequence, then. i smiled in spite of myself. here, this new comer, this Norm, was acting as if she'd been living for ages. i couldn't help but ask.
how old are you, really? you're much older than you look, i can see.. it was her turn to smile at me. her eyes shone with experience and timelessness. i guess she was slightly offended at my question because she was dead silent the whole travel to the Sequence.

when we arrived, the first thing she did was take a piece of paper out of her pocket. i knew better than to question her, but i was deadly curious. she peered at the paper for a good 5 minutes before crumpling it back and taking cautious steps atop the fresh lands of the Sequence.
beautiful, isn't it.
yes, yes it's quite pretty. i guess. but where are the denizens?
i held back a sigh. they've gone to war.

war!? whatever would anyone have war about, in such a paradise?
i would've sworn i caught sarcasm and a hint of bitterness in her tone. perhaps it's just the way she speaks.
the war......there is an evil soul. she somehow entered the Sequence. she's hiding out here. she collected millions of souls and cast them unto Earth. she's made Earth an awful place, inhabited by imperfect humans and their animals. she needs to be stopped.
so....you...or someone...just sent every person from the Sequence to go find her?
well.....kind of,yes....
are you IDIOTS?!, she screamed. that's no way to deal with evil! have any of you even so much as encountered evil!?
and i supposed you do?
she smirked. you told me i seemed old. an elder shan't live til He's seen evil face to face.

book 2

it's been 3 years since that girl has become our leader. she has rescued us, divided us. she has power. we needed that.
because i was the first creature she met, she decided i deserved honorable mention. apparently, her idea of royalty was practically banishing me to the Outerlands. of course, it's a duty i cannot complain about nor be released from. it's of the utmost importance to not only me, but to the Sequence. i am the Guardian. i protect them.

i do have some frightening encounters i can reminisce about.
once i came face to face with the devil himself.
well, it wasn't really the devil. those silly things don't exist. it was simply a rather frightening minion of the evil woman's. it had somehow been borne unto Earth (the evil woman has scary ways of sending souls and spirits down to Earth without using the Outerlands....don't ask me how it works, i myself have no idea. i'm sure the Technicians have some idea. some kind of spooky black magic deal.) anyways, this horrible creature approaches me and tells me to "scoot".
now, if there's one thing you'll learn about me. i don't take bullies. i'm not a confrontational character in the least, but something about this guy really ~rustled my jimmies.~ i just brushed him off and denied him access, however.
that's when he struck me. no one has ever pulled a move so blunt on me. i should've had it coming. he knocked me over and, in my moment of weakness, the gates to the Outerlands shuddered and he made his way through. now, in a land of vast nothingness, there weren't any obstacles i could make use of to seize the brute.
i sent mental vibes to the Master in hopes that she'd somehow, miraculously, come and stop the devil. but of course there's no such thing as psychic powers and my hopes dimmed. i could've let an evil being into the Sequence, and God only knows what he could be capable of.
that's when i blacked out.

the Master and i have fared well. She has founded the Bureaucracy, which is an extension of the ACT Organization that pretty much controls how the Sequence works. i helped her, in part, to create the pathways and to reassemble this vast area of space into a faux-Earth. everything is identical down to the last detail, we are just the opposite of Earth, i guess.
our objective, after all, is to recreate a better Earth, free of human err. a sanctuary of eternity and peace and equality, but of course, we could not achieve this without the work of the Master and the Bureaucracy.
so as Master created the Bureaucracy, i continued to filter the Sequence. i became very skilled at reading peoples' lives. it says all on their starpaths, on their destinies, and it's quite easy to tell when someone has been bad. sometimes, a demon or devil or two will try to sneak past; but that has yet to happen.
the Sequence and the Organization and the Bureaucracy will thrive and thrum in harmony so long as these demons, whether internal or external, are kept in check.
