WelcomeVoting has begun!
Since we've only got two applicants, council voting has been switched over to a poll. You've got five days to vote, from 11/28 through 12/2.
Rotating CouncilSo, what is a rotating council and why do we have it? Our council will rotate in council terms of three months each. For each of these terms, we will vote on two new council members, who will get council spots IV and V. The original occupants of council spots IV and V will be moved up to spots II and III for the next term. And what happens to the occupants of spots II and III? They are retired to emeritus status. Please note that this means if you are elected to council, you will actually spend a total of six months before you are retired (three as a lower council member and three as a higher one), even though each term is technically three months.
Why do we run on this system? Well, after some voting, we decided that this is better because it gives more Xohlians a chance for their shot at fame and power ;3. And besides -- the guild's been running a long time, and it certainly doesn't hurt to have a few changes every now and then.
All members will be able to apply for council, although (of course) the ones who make it to Guardian status will be chosen by your fellow Xohlians. However, any emeritus members must wait for one term after they are retired before they may apply again.
To summarize: Each council term is three months.
We will have voting every term.
However, once you are elected, you will be on council for a total of six months.
Emeritus members will be unable to reapply for one term.

Why Apply?Why should you bother to apply for council? Well, first of all, you'll get to have your name up on the council list =D. Lists aside, you get the chance to roleplay all of the characters available in Xohlia, including Guardians. You'll also get poll, board, invite and layout admin, and you will have a larger say in any decisions about the guild.
Being on council isn't just about the perks, though. You'll need to be active and responsible; you're expected to help out with new members and take care of the guild while Mist isn't on, as well as advertise and recruit more members. Inactive council members will be demoted after one week of inactivity without an excuse. Think you've got what it takes? Go ahead and apply, following the rules listed below. =3
Nominations?You can get also decide to nominate someone else for council - this will, hopefully, widen our pool of candidates. Nominees have to accept, if they wish to run, and make up their own application, like everyone else.
To nominate someone: Neomail Mist their name, and why you think they would make a good council member. This may matter when Mist makes her final decision, so make sure you say lots of good things =P.
Mist will neomail the nominee, and ask them if they'd like to accept the nomination. They won't be told who nominated them, though. If they accept, then they are expected to apply for council ^^.
Nominees must fit all requirements for a council spot. No nominating yourself, mmkay? ;3.

First of all: Anyone may apply to become a council member. We'll be choosing two council members each round.
1. Applications-- If you want to be considered for council, you must neomail Mist saying so. Your application can be in any form, and include whatever you want; petpage applications will be accepted as well. Mist will post your application here, on this page, for all to see... so make sure you think about what you say xD. If you have a petpage application, Mist will link to it. If you'd like to change your application, you may do so by NMing Mist the new one, but you may have to wait up for it to be put up. A few hints to consider: Check your spelling and grammar, please. You want to impress us, after all =D. Also, it wouldn't hurt to talk about your HTML, CSS and graphics skills. ^^. Play up your strengths, but be honest about your weaknesses; nobody is perfect.
This stage will last five (5) days, from 11/14/10 to 11/18/10, at midnight NST.
2. Voting-- This stage is for everyone, including those who have applied for council. You may vote as soon as the application stage has ended, and all applications have been posted, as indicated by Mist. You may vote for any two members who have applied, and are listed on this page. To vote: neomail Mist your choices. Don't vote for yourself, or you will be disqualified. Votes will be posted on this page. Please remember, this is your big chance to have a say in what happens to the guild; think about your votes carefully. Unfortunately, votes can't be changed.
This stage will last five (5) days, from 11/19/10 to 11/23/10, at midnight.
3. Final decision-- This is for Mist and the current council, only. Together, they'll look at all of your applications, and the votes you received, then weigh the results with their own opinions. The council members will be primarily chosen by you, but they do have a comparatively large say in this; there is a small chance that the person with the most votes might not necessarily win. We promise not to abuse that power if we can help it xD.
This stage will last two (2) days maximum.
The council members chosen will be announced on the guild board that day.
