We would like to thank you for stopping in to Knotwork Adoptions and Trades! Our fostering criteria is typically based on the name of the pet. Because it is easier to re-home well named pets, we are able to place them and zap another quickly in its place. Although our pets usually have lovely names, we occasionally have pets which may have a less desirable name and have a very rare look or very high stats. Many of our pets are not adopted until they are zapped limited edition or a limited color or both, but that's ok - we want our adopters to be completely happy. HOW TO ADOPT
We believe in the honor system, most adoptions from us merely require a sincere neomail except in the case of Specialty Adoptions where a detailed mailing may be asked. If one of our foster homes requires anything more, please do not hesitate to neomail Michi and let her know. We are firmly committed to the S.T.I.R. (Stop The Insane Rules) philosophy of adoption. This doesn't always mean you will get what you want but we do try to be fair. We are open to any neopet player.
Here are some of the things we would like to read in your neomail...
1. Which pet you would like?
2. What is the account name where this pet will live?
3. Have you ever completed a pet transfer through the pound before?
4. What are your plans for this pet? (are you going to lab it, paint it, place in in the BC, loan it (avatar pets), will you be making a petpage for it, or is it going to be a Battledome pet...)
5. Is this pet going to a main or a side account? (Listing all accounts is not required but sincerely appreciated. It can tell us great things about you as a potential new home!)
6. Any other info you think we might like to know? (anything you think might help us know you are the right home)Please place the pet's name in the title of your mail and be sure that you neomail the correct foster home for the pet that you may be interested in. Once you have neomailed the foster home regarding the pet you are interested in, please give them a couple days to respond (sometimes we are overwhelmed with requests and sometimes schedules do not allow us to be online daily). If you have applied for a pet or have questions and the foster home does not respond within a day or two, please neomail Theatician.
topRULES AND REQUIREMENTS
We have only TWO rules here, that you understand and accept our decision and that you really want the pet. Once we chose a home, it is not open to negotiations. Begging, bribing or threats will get you blocked. If you saw a pet here and did not get it, chances are we will have another and you are welcome to reapply! Due to a few less than honorable adopters, we have added the second rule. Adopters who take our pets then repound after stripping off a petpet, will not be allowed to adopt again. WE KEEP TRACK OF OUR ADOPTIONS! Let me say again, WE KEEP TRACK OF OUR ADOPTIONS! The following are adoption rules which NEOPETS has established and are not within our control.
1. Pets that are above level 2 can not be adopted by accounts younger than 4 months.
2. The following species can not be adopted by accounts younger than 4 months; Chomby, Cybunny, Draik, Hissi, Jetsam, Kiko, Koi, Krawk, Poogle, Tonu.
3. Lastly, the following colors ARE AVAILABLE to accounts younger than 4 months provided they are not over level 2 and are not one of the above listed species; Checkered, Blue, Brown, Glowing, Green, Invisible, Orange, Pink, Purple, Red, Shadow, Silver, Skunk, Speckled, Split, White and Yellow. All other colors are not available to accounts younger than 4 months.
(Note: Lutari's are also NOT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION, if one of the pets listed is zapped Lutari, it will be rezapped or kept with the foster home due to its intense dislike for the pound. Lutaris can not be transferred or pounded - they will run away.)

What colors and species might you find here at Knotwork?
At this time, you may find any and all types of pets here except Lutari. We mostly have labbed pets, but the occasional plushie, baby, UC or royal has been known to come through.
topOTHER INFO ABOUT THE AVAILABLE PETS
Below you will see all of the current pets looking for homes. The photo listings below show the most recent up to date info I have been given - however, to be sure, click on the pet's picture. Many of the pets come with an attached inexpensive petpet which has undergone labbing as well. If you see it with a petpet, chances are they are being placed together. You are welcome to keep it or leave it with us.
top TRANSFER OPTION
The new TRANSFER option makes the rare pet safer to move from one account to another. Any items on the pet listed as available are NOT transferred unless specifically negotiated with the foster home. Transfer option is only available ONCE PER MONTH to each party. Pets in the ADOPTION area are typically a "pound catch" which means unless you arrange with the fosterhome first, none of the clothes or items will come with the pet. Pets on the TRADE page get the first transfer option. Our foster home will let you know if they have open transfer option available if your pet is not from the trade list. If transfer is available, please be sure you have not transferred a pet within the past 30 days or you will not be able to receive your pet until your next 30 day cycle..
top LOST IN MOVE
Occasionally, a pet is lost during a move (unless the new transfer option is used), a very sad thing for everyone involved. However, the pound is a big place and there are lots of people in there, so your pet might accidentally go home with someone he or she thought was you. When that happens, we will try to negotiate a return but often times it is impossible. Should that happen and we have another similar pet or one you would like instead, you will be considered first. If there isn't a similar pet or one you would like in its place, we will place you on the top of our list for the next available.
top FOSTERING AND PRIVATE LISTINGS
Our wonderful network of foster homes is currently NOT accepting additional foster families at this time. Senior foster homes are those which place multiple pets and have been with us for more than a year, Junior foster homes have recently joined us and all of our foster homes are within the Knotworks Guild. Our group has several members who maintain their main and side accounts with labs so bookmark this page, it changes weekly!
If you are in a hurry to move your pet, send a neomail to Michi and often times, we can arrange for it to be fostered for you. We do have several spaces for fosters with Senior Foster homes at this time.
top FINAL NOTE
One more thing... we zap and place pets because we want to give others a chance to get a limited pet. We do not do it for neopoints or items. Our accounts are not rich, nor will they ever be, and not all of our foster homes have the lab ray either. Having said that, please keep in mind that we are fostering for the pleasure of re-homing pets to owners who will want them. We will not accept any gifts, bribes, promises of items or donations. Doing so would violate the rules and we could lose our accounts and that would be too bad for all those waiting for a special pet. If one of our foster homes requests such a thing (other than the new trade pet for pet option) to place a pet, please neomail Michi so that steps can be taken to ensure our foster home network continues to honor this code. If you offer a foster home anything in your request, it will be considered a bribe and you will be blocked. If you send us something after the adoption, please do not be offended if we send it back. It is not personal, we just do not wish to sacrifice an account - taking one of our pets to keep as a forever friend is thanks enough for us.

Due to the limited available transfers, pets listed with us may already be on hold, waiting until their foster has a safe transfer available. I have decided to keep them listed incase the new owner decides not to wait. If you see a pet listed here that is on hold, neomail THEATICIAN ONLY and let me know of your interest. If you are willing to wait and are a suitable home, I will add you to the wishlist and you will be the alternate home. Some of our foster homes are no longer handling the pet adoptions, as a result, many of our pets have their contact information sent to Sceneographer.
