It's great to see you again, baby

As a child this determined little doe could not have been more loving nor innocent. Spending hours in the library, Spikhle soon hungered for more of the written word to which she was so hopelessly addicted. One day she stumbled upon a book listing a legend, or perhaps a faerie tale, if you will, that spoke of great adventures to pursue, a great power to behold. As the legend went on it said that the One must be good of heart and sweet of soul, and little did Spik know that it was her childish eyes that were destined to behold such glory, such...lifeTake heed, for with life also comes death', it said, and she pondered the meaning as she hid the parchment away from everyone else. Fond of childrens' stories and teenage sweethearts Spikhle matured with a good outlook on the world; she relished the idea of such kinds of stories of Princes and Princesses, and even if she knew that they were not real, she found them amusing. While wandering loftily about the forest one day she approached her favorite little pond, planning on a swim. Humming softly to herself she suspended her hand above the water and dropped a small, rare flower she had picked, yet never seen before now, into the water. It was a rose... roses did not grow where she lived. In her own imaginative world the doe did not realize that there was someone sitting on the other side of the lake, a buck only a smidge older then she, at the time. His warm smile led her to believe he was trustworthy, and after no time at all the two had become best friends. It was one afternoon while they both sat around the edge of her favorite little lake that everything changed... Talking idly of what was proper to wear while swimming (Spikhle found cloths very piculiar and restricting, while the buck would blush furiously at even the mention of her swimming clothless) a soft glow on the buck's face caught Spihkle's eye. Can I kiss you...? came the buck's question, but it was not that alone that got Spik's heart racing. She never got to reply- There was a creature behind her dear friend, and it had a weapon. Run! Spikhle cried and threw herself infront of this hostile person, between the buck, but it was no use; they were everywhere, and as an arrow struck her chest the last thing she saw was the sad look on her friend's face before he, too- died. * * * To move was agony, to breathe and even to think made the doe want to scream-! only she could not. Am... am I- alive? thought Spikhle as light flickered in the darkness. Memories of the happening hit her like a brick- as if in a dream of sorts, as if seeing from someone elses eyes. Are you ready? came a voice, and then all pain stopped. Her head cleared, and she was able to move freely, comfortabley. For... for what? Spik breathed, bewildered. To really live- came the reply, and after only a breathe the doe felt bliss in her veins, longing and happiness no mortal could have understood. But she was mortal no longer...she was immortal. Yet even in this state the doe could not forget the loss of her friend, and the ache it set in her heart. That was the day she promised never to love again, for she knew he had died for her. Her and her stupid ideas of power; Spikhle now saw her error in ignoring the statement 'Take heed, for with life also comes death'. Immortal flew threw her mind. But in the darkness she heard water, and crept to it as the voice no longer spoke to her, and only the drip.. drip.. drip.. hit her ears. Immortal. There was a glow, she saw, and smiled weakly at the blue mushrooms in the corner of what appeared to be a type of cave. So perhaps she would not live in total darkness afterall.
Neopets deleted the other half of her story for some reason... so it will be some time before I can re-write it o.o |
