Welcome to the Information Center
for The Kingdom
! Here, you can find our basic information
including our rules (which are more like guidelines), our relaxed & easy-to-follow
literacy policy, and info about how to join. We're a simple, laid-back
guild and our rules reflect that!
In addition to this, we're also open-minded; if you have a suggestion
or query about any of these rules, feel free to mail a Staff member
, or bring it up in the guild message board! We are always open to reviewing
our policies and making sure that they work for everybody! We would love to hear your thoughts, comments, and suggestions - don't be shy!
If you're looking for a super relaxing, close-knit, and incredibly welcoming
guild where you'll find some forever friends, The Kingdom may very well be the guild for you! If you'd like to join, find us on the Guild Chat
and introduce yourself there to get an invitation, or mail one of the below staff members, let us know who you are why you're interested in the guild:Anti (antipopulace) | Brittany (_swingswing) | Kali (luckalie) | Gabby (w0d)
Don't forget to read the entirety of this page
very carefully before requesting your invite - there are 2
randomly-placed keywords that are hidden within the text and we may ask you what these are, to ensure you've read everything!
We don't have many rules and regulations, but we do want to ensure that everyone within the guild understands what our expectations are before
they join! ^^
Here at The Kingdom, we don't rely on smothering you all with tons of rules, restrictions
on what you can and can't do, and nonsensical requirements that don't mix well with real life, so instead we try to have guidelines
rather than strict rules!
We truly believe that we don't have to be difficult
in order to be amazing. We try to trust
one another, and know that everyone is doing their best for each another, and we want to empower every member to be the best they can be
in everything they do!
Of course, we have to have some basic rules and requirements. If you're looking to join the guild, keep an eye out for some out-of-place
words or phrases and be sure to note those in your application, so that we know you pay attention to the really important stuff!
Treat others how you want to be treated. We all know the golden rule - so follow it! When in doubt, pause and think, "How would I feel in the other person's shoes?" If you follow this rule, you won't ever be steered wrong.
Please don't spam, scam, or slam. Like the above rule, please treat others fairly. Don't beg, harass people, or be rude. Spamming means posting pointless or unwanted messages incessantly; scamming is taking advantage of each other; and slamming is causing drama, or being cruel or rude to others!
Introduce yourself! Whether you've just joined, or you just haven't visited the hamburgers! message board, please (re-)introduce yourself on the message board; we'll be so glad to see you!
Put your nickname in your font, or on your lookup. Please do this, so that everyone knows what to call you! Your font should also be legible: not too bright, and not too small.
We don't have any posting or activity requirements, however... Please don't sign on just to bid on our 1 NP Trades. If you are too busy to post, or participate in guild activities, that's fine! We completely understand, and wouldn't just delete you without asking what's going on, or anything like that. However, if we see that you are too busy to say hello to your fellow members, however you still log on to try and win prizes in the 1 NP Trades, you will be unable to bid on trades until you become active again. Please be considerate of other citizens!
We at The Kingdom value amazing discussions
and don't want to do anything to stop those from happening. We want our guild to have the best message board on Neopets
- yeah, really! That's our dream.
To achieve this, the only literacy requirements
we have can be found below. We hope you find them reasonable, and we hope they make our guild the best
that it can be! Every post should be valuable. Rather than having a strict "5 sentences per post!" requirement or anything like that, instead we just require that every post be valuable - posting a smiley face is not likely to be valuable, but greeting people and asking how they are is. If someone asked you a question, answer it, and add to the discussion with another question spaceship!
Don't ignore each other. No one likes to feel ignored. So don't do it to other people! If you are feeling ignored or lonely, post a *slorg* at the top of your post and we will take extra care to respond to you.
Double-posting is okay... to a point. Please don't post pointlessly, multiple times in a row, just to bring your post count up. Believe me, it won't be appreciated! If it's a genuine mistake or if you have lots of important or interesting stuff to say, then posting as many times as you like is absolutely fine!
Be coherent. Typos occur, we understand, no one is a robot. But please do your best to make sure that everyone can understand you! If you make lots of serious errors that make your posts unreadable, that doesn't create a fun chatting experience.
Here at The Kingdom we have a hierarchy
which denotes each citizen's rank, standing, and level of responsibility
within the guild! Below, you can find a list of all the ranks, what they mean, and how to achieve them
. Each rank comes with its own perks and responsibilities, including admin powers. If you would rather not have admin
, or don't know how to use it, mail Anti and she will be able to help you out, including explaining how to use the admin or removing it
. (If you're due for a rank up, let one of the staff members know and we'll get right on that
for you!) Peasant - you've just joined The Kingdom. Congratulations on your excellent decision, and welcome to the guild! As you are just a lowly peasant, your responsibility is just to enjoy yourself, sit back, and relax!
Villager - you're a little bit higher on the social ladder than a mere peasant... but not much higher. You gain this rank at 50 posts - congrats and keep it up! At the rank of Villager, you are now eligible to apply for Council and Sub-Council positions (when we are accepting applications).
Guard - you are now a respected member of The Kingdom! At 150 posts and at least 2 weeks in the guild, you are also awarded poll and calendar admin. It is your responsibility to help us keep the peasantry in order!
Knight - you are a pillar of the community and know everything there is to know about the guild! You've posted over 500 times and have been in the guild for more than one month! You are now able to invite new members to the guild, as you are deemed to have sound judgement and an excellent knowledge of how The Kingdom is run.
Lord or Lady - you're the top dog! Over 1000 posts and two months in the guild will let you attain this rank. You also receive board admin upon promotion! Congratulations, milord, milady! At this rank, you also become eligible for lifetime membership - should you ever leave the guild, you'll be automatically entitled to an invitation if you want to re-join, no questions asked. We will also never delete you from the guild due to inactivity, as a reward for your great loyalty!
This lovely, informative testimonial has come from one of our members, Lizzie! Thank you so much for your kind words Lizzie.
