It's Back!!!
The Altador Cup is once again at out doorstep and the cup fever is ripe throughout Neopia! Closer to home, at our SoS board, many old regs, (myself included) are finally crawling out of the woodwork and returning to the madness that we all love and miss so much. Watch this space for all your updates and breaking news in the coming weeks so you can keep on top of all the ACVI action.

We have a lot of talented Shenkuu fans in our midst and out in Neopia there are bound to be tonnes of pet pages dedicated to graphics, scoring, articles and all things Shenkuu and Cup related. Want to get them out to all the other Shenkuu fans? Then

Should we get many of the same pages, we will create specialised categories so Shenkuu fans can find everything they need in one place. What is Shenkuu?
Shenkuu is an exotic Neopian land located far north of Altador. It was discovered in Y8 when the crew of The Cyodrake's Gaze, one of Shenkuu's merchant vessels, lost their navigator at sea. After weeks of searching, Hoban the navigator was found and Captain Tuan revealed the secret location of Shenkuu and welcomed visitors to its peaks.
What Does It Mean?
The kanji for
Shen ?(in Japanese Shin or Mori) is one used to compose the word
forest.Kuu ?: a Japanese word for
empty air; sky; nothing
So what does all that have to do with Shenkuu?
We're not entirely sure but it sounds good.
What's SoS?
SoS is short for Shenkuu Official Supporters. In Y9 (2007) Shenkuu joined the Altador Cup and gave birth to what we now know as the SoS boards. SoS is a chat group, made up of Neopians who may or may not have ever actually supported Shenkuu, but found themselves uncontrollably drawn the the organised anarchy that lies within. SoSers are known for their craziness and resulting lack of sensibility. It's not unusual to find Lucy the meepit nurse administering first aid to someone who has fallen from the plexiglass tree
house and almost drowned in the chocolate lake, while others look on from the rafters. Yes, you heard right. SoS has no official leader and everyone is considered to be equally important.
Feel free to pay us a visit, but don't feel bad if you don't understand what's going on. That's to be expected. In SoS, making no sense makes perfect sense.
Pwn Info
So what happens when you're been
so fortunate to pwn page 23 and you've received the honour of making the next board? Chances are that everyone else on the board
will run a mile and refuse to take it for you, unless you're lucky.
You have two options:
1. You can pass the pwn and hope someone will take pity on you and make the next board, this is particularly
handy if your pwning post was something to the effect of "Well I have to poof, see ya." Clearly you can't make the
board if you're leaving.
2. Alternatively, you can take the pwn. Then, you'll need the following information.
First Post Information
This absolutely
must be the very first post of the new board. It identifies us to other neopets players and gives everyone the
information about us that they might need or want. If someone comes in and ignorantly posts "Eh so what is SoS anyway!?" It's just as easy,
and far less infuriating, to direct them to read the first page where they can find all the necessary links.
You're also going to need an acceptible title that follows the usual format, has a shenkuu reference of sorts, is not rude to others or
likely to be reported. It's really not as hard as it sounds, we've somehow managed over 1500 of them already.
Title must start with SoS:// then a witty title, random comment, quote or anything suitable that comes to mind. It must finish with #board number.
Example: SoS://Shenkuu - Coming only to Theaters #9999
Here is a list of the actual board titles so far.
Bottom line is, if in doubt - ASK! If you've never made a board before and you're not sure what you're doing, don't fly blind and hope you get
it right. All SoSers will be more than willing to help you get it right but a lot can't stand poorly made boards and if you didn't seek help
and messed it up they'll tell you
all about it.
