I have a lot to say about this project. Why? Because I have been GUPped. I was once an elegant Darigan Lupe until one of those supporters snagged me in the pound and I was transformed into a Green Uni.

My new owner had been zapping me for months until she decided that the best way to go was to just morph and paint me, so I am now back to my former glory. But I'm glad she was pound surfing that day and saw me come up as a Green Uni. She remembered my name and what I once was and soon after learned about this malicious project. And the fact that TNT won't do anything about it hurts even more!

I know that this Anti-GUP page will probably do nothing to stop the matter, but I felt that since I was a victim of this pathetic scheme, I needed my voice to be heard. GUPping, no matter what anyone else says, is WRONG! Some how and some way, this HAS to end!

Reason Why:

Let's say you have been raising Neopoints by entering contests, playing games, and restocking for months on end. You finally have enough and purchase a sparkling new Royal Paint Brush. However, you have a Kougra waiting for it's new color on your side, so you send the brush over and paint the pet Royal.

A while later, you decide to transfer your Royal Kougra to your main so you can provide her with all your attention. As you click the Adopt button, you suddenly get this message:

Error: This pet already has an owner and is very happy!

You then rush to the account to request your pet be given back, and your heart stops when you see that your lovely Royal Kougra you spent millions to paint has just been morphed into a Green Uni! Who gave this person the right to ruin what you worked so hard for?

But don't get me wrong. The Green Uni is a nice Neopet. It's the people who are doing this that are sick and despisable. And what's worse! The pet that they "worship and adore" so much is now one of the most hated pets! Way to lift up your mascot, GUPpers. Way to go.

Some of you GUPpers might say, "We're just saving the pets from becoming trophies and rotting on an abandoned account." While you seem to care so much for a pixel that you would go to ridiculous lengths to make the pet "happy" by morphing it into a pet no one wants and then pounding it, not everyone is as shallow as you think they are.

My owner possesses two adopted pets on her main account, and two that she worked extremely hard for to paint herself. Does that mean she loves her Tyrannian Lupe and Christmas Kougra more than her Desert and Ghost Lupe? Of course not! She loves us all the same, even her unpainted pets such as Lellic and Exhalted. The color does not make the pet. But that doesn't mean GUPpers can make the pet into something they want.

You also seem to be defeating your own purpose. You are afraid that the painted pet will end up as a trophy, (or is this just how you get your sick kicks?) so you swipe up the Pirate Eyrie, morph him Uni, and throw him back in the pound.

Who wants him now? Will he just rot in the pound, doomed to never being adopted by an owner? I believe the answer is yes. Once again, way to go. You've really impressed me.

Many owners enjoy having their pets unpainted, and then again, many don't. However, maybe you GUPpers need to stop interferring with every other Neopian's life and focus on your own. Why don't you put that 14k to use and buy something better, like a toy for your Uni or even better, paint it a nice color. No one needs you to mess up their fun on a game. No one.

I'm not just spouting insults off the top of my head at you, GUP. I've read several pages on your project, and what I've seen is enough to make me sick. You seem to get a thrill out of wrecking peoples' dreams or you just don't even care, blaming the pounder for what happened to their pet. Here are two excerpts from GUP petpages:

Green Uni Morphing Potions are cheap to buy. Painted and LE pets are always dwelling around the pound. The only logical thing to do next to mix the two together and let this twisted fairy-tale to persist on. It's just pure common sense, no?

GUP just made the obvious blindingly obvious. People have ALWAYS been losing pets in the pound. Now there is the added risk that if you lose the pet, it might be turned into a green uni.

Twisted fairy-tale? Added risk? Since when did TNT give you the okay to add a risk factor to someone's enjoyment on Neopets? It's as if they live to hurt us! And perhaps TNT hasn't checked into this fully, but if they would, they'd see that GUP isn't for the pets. It's for themselves.

Solution:

This GUP uprising, Heaven-forbid, could go on for a very long time. Quite possibly, the only way this whole thing can be put to an abrubt halt is a Pet Transferring Agency. Yes, yes... I know that TNT has turned this idea down many times, but just think! If we had one, we wouldn't have to risk our pets being GUPped into Green Unis!

Also, lurkers, pound-sitters, and Auto-Adopters would be a thing of the past! No more fighting and hurt-feelings would plague Neopia just because of others' selfishness and greed. All that you would do after choosing an owner is to go to the P.T.A., type in the pet's name and new owner's name in their respective fields, and BAM! The pet is instantly on their account without having to fear the lurkers and GUPpers in the pound!

This way, everyone's pets are safe, and GUPpers are more than welcome to morph their own painted pets as they please! See? Everyone is happy. ^_^

So to wrap this up, it is not you that has inspired me, GUP. It is all the lost pets like myself that have been hideously morphed because of your foolish ways.

My only hope for this is that you, GUP, will be shut down. Shut down hard.
