Yes, clubs will have both hierarchy and ranks. Each club will have unique names for hierarchy and ranks based on their theme, but the following are the generic names and functions.
1. Club Leader
The leader controls all the major functions of their club; keeping track of points, motivating club members, managing the club, keeping organized, coming up with new ideas, and so on. The four club leaders will also converse amongst themselves to make major decisions concerning clubs in general. The club leader has more or less total power, and chooses how the rest of the council will be chosen. They can appoint club council members themselves, or hold an election where club members decide who will be on which council position.
2. Vice President
This is the club member that is second-in-command. If the club leader is ever absent on a major event, the vice president takes over. If the club leader ever leaves the guild or decides to step down from his/her post, the vice president becomes the new club leader. This is also the main person the club leader will go to when seeking advice relating to club management.
3. Lead Designer
This is the spot that will generally be taken by the person in the club that is the best at making graphics. Though they may delegate some work, the lead designer manages club themed guild layouts, userlookups, banners, logos, fonts, and other club related graphics. This person is in charge of all club related graphics, and any graphics made by the club members should be sent to the lead designer or club leader. The lead designer may also have a graphics page containing all of their club's graphics.
4. Spokesman
Generally, this should be an extremely active person that loves to advertise. They should be active on the boards on a regular basis, and advertise as much as possible. If you refer a member, your club gets priority for that member when new members are inducted into clubs at the start of every month. Although clubs have to be even, so everyone will have an equal number of members after that day, you can get your favorite new members in your club by advertising and referring them to your club. In addition, referring new members will most likely earn points for your club.
5. Club motivator
This person's job entails keeping everyone included, happy, and fun. They get everyone hyped up during big guild events, stay on the guild boards as much as possible to make it more active, and motivate club members to contribute to the team. This person will also neomail all the club members on a regular basis, notifying them of anything they may need to know. The club motivator also needs to be very creative, as the will be expected to come up with new ideas to improve the guild.
Though having a council position can be hard work, it's rewarding as well. Without you, the club will be unable to function; and you get a lot of respect for doing what you do.
Club members are ranked by how many club points they've earned. This carries over from month to month, and some privileges will likely come with being a higher rank. There will probably be 5 club themed ranks for each club, although there could be more. It is unknown how many club points will be earned each month, so there is no way to know exactly how much you will need for each rank. More information on this will be coming soon.
Once our clubs are set up and each has its own leader, a draft will be held on the guild boards. This will be held at a time that all four leaders will be able to be online at the guild board.
Positions alternate each round.
Club 1 gets pick 1, 8, 9, 16, etc.
Club 2 gets pick 2, 7, 10, 15, etc.
Club 3 gets pick 3, 6, 11, 14, etc.
Club 4 gets pick 4, 5, 12, 13, etc.
The four club leaders will go through every current member of the guild. At the end of draft day, the clubs will all have an even number of members. If the clubs are not fair (one team is stacked while another has no one active), members may be traded to make things more even.
Note: Club leaders have to use strategy. If you're picked last or lower than others, that doesn't mean you aren't popular or don't have any friends. It just means that, if you're active, you'll likely be on a better team since it will already have good members.
The draft will take place September 13th, 2009, on Sunday. The club you are drafted into is permanent (unless guild leaders to a very poor job and trades have to be made).
You can earn points for your club with …
-Guild Activities
-Participation in club vs. club events
-Winning a game of avatar simon, a battledome tournament, or other type of game
-Special guild events
-Many other ideas for earning points, such as referring guild members or making club related graphics, but they aren't fleshed out, even the ones we have listed are a work in progress. Again, if you have any suggestions feel free to neomail SM.
We also need to set up a point system to decide how much everything should be worth. You'll have a better idea of what you need to do once clubs are more set up, and competition begins in October.
The first event:
To kickoff the premier clubs, and so that you have something to do while you wait for club competition to start in October, we will be holding a club crest/logo designing contest. You must make four logos for each of the clubs (all with the same basic design, so you should be able to tell that they were made by the same person). You may begin sending in your entries after the draft on the 13th, but the deadline is not until the 27th. Club leaders will vote on their favorite entry, and 50 points will to go to the person who makes the best club crests, and their club. These logos should be 100x100, and look as classy/fancy as you can make them. Good luck.
The Neo.Anxious Cup
By winning, you earn honor, glory, the respect of your peers, and some unique privileges only available to the winning club. The total extent of which has not been worked out yet.
In addition, the winning team may be able to use points personally earned for their team on prizes or rewards of some sort. Again, details on this are still being worked out.
While club competition is going on, new members are not allowed to join premier clubs. At the start of each month, after the trophy is awarded, new members will be sorted into clubs sorting hat style. A large ceremony will at held on the same day and time each month, inducting new members into the clubs. There may be one of these to start off the first month of club competition, as the draft will take place a few weeks before competition officially begins.
During the month of September, premier clubs will be prepared for the first month of action in October, three years since NA was founded. After the first induction ceremony, the games will begin so to speak. If you have any suggestions or ideas on any of the above (or below for that matter), neomail SM
Unlike the premier clubs, anyone can join these clubs, anyone can make them, and there is no limit to how many you can join.
Interest Clubs, true to their name, are based around finding people with similar interests.
There are endless possibilities for interest clubs. Make one for anything that you like. Like football? Make a football. Like avatars? Make an avatar club. Like apples? It goes on and on. You could even make a pre-premier club for new members, or a welcome committee club. If you have an interest or passion for anything, make a club for it. If you find a club that shares an interest you have, join it.
Before you can officially have a club, you must make it. Set up the page, and give it content. Once it is complete, you can begin advertising it and getting members. Aside from finding members with similar interests, your club can have its own activities related to its topic. Once you have content, a layout, and a 800X100 banner, contact SM to have your club put in the directory.
Interest clubs are designed to help people find others in the guild with similar interests, new members feel more welcomed, and we are all brought closer together. At times divisions form between guild members (between old and new members for example) and ideally interest clubs should remove these barriers.
All members are welcome to start their own interest clubs; they will be linked here on the club homepage.
