My Life
Chapter One
I am a loner. I was one ever since my mother and father died when I was just a young cub. I can't remember who they were...All I do remember is a thunder storm and a large pack of Wolf Lupes...one with a large scar across his cheek.
Others in my pack tried to take care of me, but I wouldn't let them. I ran away to live on my own. I didn't need any help.
When I was a cub, I had eyes. I could see everything, which was useful for hunting. I grew older and more experienced. By the time I turned 15, I was the most feared hunter among the Kougra packs. One night, I crossed
paths with a Dark Faerie, who was disguised as a Zafara. I was hungry and on the hunt, so I attacked it. I had a hold on her leg when she transformed.
You wretched creature how dare you bite me. You shall be punished!
I'm sorry," I apologized, "I saw you as a Zafara!
Then if that is the case, you shall see no more." She took away my sight. Not only that, but she took away my eyes. It was worse than being blind.
I wandered around the plains, depending on my sense of smell to hunt. I grew thin and bony, for I was having trouble relying just on my sense of smell.
I remember wandering into Meridell, in search of food still. I went into what I smelled was a forest. I then heard a voice.
Young Kougra, tell me what is it you came to me for.
Who's there?
Why, young pet, do you not know Illusen when you see her?
I..I cannot see.
Illusen put her hand under my chin and lifted my head. "Oh...poor creature, what has happened?
Well, one night I was hunting and attacked what I thought was a Zafara, but it was a Dark Faerie. She took away my eyes as punishment.
Oh dear...those evil witches...Young Kougra, what is your name?
Skurr.
Well, Skurr, I cannot give you back your eyes, and for this I am deeply sorry, but what I can do is give you this necklace. It has a magic tooth from one of Neopia's legendary Kougras. It has magical powers that will let you see, even without eyes." The instant she put that beaded necklace around my neck, I could see everything. It was like I had my eyes back.
You're...beautiful...This forest is beautiful...

Yes." I left the forest, and headed back home. Now that I could see, I wanted to search for the Wolf Lupe pack and confront their leader.
Many nights passed, and still was I searching. Finally, I found them.
Who is the leader of this pack?!
I am."
It's him...the one with the scar... I said to myself.
What is it that you want, Kougra?
You killed my parents, 15 years ago.
Ah, you mean the Flame Lions, don't you. Yes, I killed them. What are you going to do about it, eyeless Kougra.
Call me 'eyeless' again and see what happens.

Alright, 'eyeless'." another Lupe said.
I roared and lunged at the leader and started clawing. He growled and bit into my leg, and I his snout. The other Lupes jumped on to me scratching me and biting into by body. It was a long and bloody fight. Rain started pouring down. I had alredy killed half the pack, and I wasn't going to quit now. Night turned into dawn, and the remaining Lupes were growing tired.
Kougra,...stop..." said the leader.
No, I will not stop. I came to avenge my parents, and my task will not be fulfilled until I put you to the grave." I pinned him down. The other Lupes didn't even try to stop me. I looked into the leader's eyes and saw his fear. I lifted my paw and extended the claws. The other Lupes started howling. I swung my paw and with one last screech, the leader was dead.
The other Lupes whined and gathered around their former leader. I took one lick of my paw and tasted the mixed blood of mine, the leader's, and the rest of the Lupes'. I got off the leader and walked away from the pack.
Chapter Two
Three months had passed, and my injuries were healed. There was a drought in our lands, and many wild Neopets had died from famine. Soon, creatures of the same species were hunting each other down. I went to one of the few watering holes, and saw a dragon-like girl on the ground. I sniffed her, and found she was still alive. I licked her face, to try and wake her up.
Uuuhhhnnn...Ew! Spit is all over my face!!
Then wash your face in the water, you ungrateful human. I saved your life.
Oh! Well, thank you." The girl rinsed her face off. "Who are you? Shouldn't you be with your pack?
She hasn't seen my face yet. I was sitting in the direction opposite of her. "I have no pack. Been a loner all my life. Be glad I did not eat you. There's a great drought which has brought great famine to our plains," I explained.
Why won't you look at me? Are you scared? Can I pet you?
My ear twitched. I gritted my teeth. "Can you handle it?" I turned my head.
...Oh my gosh...wh-where are your eyes?
I have none. Got them taken away by a Dark Faerie a few months back.
Then how do you see?
Always with the questions, eh, human? This necklace, given to me by Illusen, allows me to see with invisible eyes.
Ah, I see. What is your name? My name is Kai.
Skurr.
Skurr? Hmm...strange.
So is Kai, but there are stranger names to be found." I got up and turned completelty around facing Kai.
You said there was a famine....Why don't you come back with me? I already have four Neopets, but I can manage one more. I can feed you and everything. I know you said you were a loner, but you don't have to be a loner anymore.
I cocked my head, in thought. "That'd be...nice...I've lived in these plains for so long though...
It's alright, we can come back here to visit.
I heard howls. The Wolf Lupes...That isn't neccessary. Let us go.
Alright! I'll take you back home to meet your new sisters.
...Sisters?" Oiy...
Yeah! Kyoralaaktah, or Kyora, is the oldest. She's 16. I found her like I did you. She's Neopia's first Shadow Elemental. She's the Darkness Shadow. She's sort of anti-social, but she can be a true friend when you need her. Saffra is the second oldest, 13. She's an Irken Scorchio. She found me. Don't get off on the wrong paw with her. She holds grudges. I also found Star. She's seven. She is a SkyStar Zafara. She's really sweet, but she can get quite annoying. And Jes, came to me. She is a Gem Uni. She's 6. She's sort of like Star, but not as annoying. I'm 14. How old are you?
I'm 15.
Wow. You and Kyora should probably get along pretty well. All of the girls should get along with you.
Sure whatever." I turned around and looked up at a cliff. The Wolf Lupes were gathering up there. I nudged Kai. "Can we speed it up please?
Well, I could try flying us there. But you look too heavy.
I snarled. "How could I be too heavy? Right now I'm skin and bones!
Well......I'm having back problems okay?
Soon we got to Kai's neohome.
