Real Life Pet Profiles
Hiya! I (Binca) have plenty of RL pets/buddies who deserve a bit of attention, so I have made them their own profile page here. You can also view their JOURNAL, which will be updated whenever they do something amazing, stupid or interesting in some way. Which can be surprisingly often!
P.S. I am sorry for some of the giant photos guys, will try and resize them later when I have time.
Pip (short for Pipsqueak) is my rescue cockatiel. He is very friendly to talk to, and can say Hello. He also loves to whistle, and outscreech the vacuum cleaner - go figure. He gets a bit territorial over his cage, so doesn't always want to come out for a stretch, and since I own two cats and a dog, I do have to be careful when I let him out. Once he is out his cage he is generally great for cuddles and loves to sit on my shoulder and chew on my earrings.
I don't have any recent photos of Pip at this stage, but will try and take one soon.
Bella is my adopted Miniature Fox Terrier. She is approximately 9 years old, but thinks she is a puppy still. She thinks she is a tough guard dog, and barks at all the school kids who DARE to walk past our house. Provided they never find out she is a toothless midget she will be okay! She loves to go for walks, but has panic attacks in cars so we can't take her very far. I brought her up to meet one of my horses once, never again! She thought she could take him on - who cares
if his head is bigger than her! She also loves cuddles, and gets very jealous of the cats if they come up for a cuddle when she is getting one.
As mentioned above, she has no teeth. A common problem with her breed is that their teeth rot, and unfortunately all of Bella's had to be removed. She now often falls asleep with her tongue hanging out the corner of her mouth! It doesn't bother her though, and she is still able to lead a perfectly normal (or as close as any of my pets can get!) life.
Scamper is the first of my two rescue cats. She is a dark tortie, so can be very temperamental. She and the other cat don't get along and generally when Scamper spots her, she starts hissing and growling and carrying on like the world will end. Scamper loves nothing more than to spend all day out in the sun sleeping (or inside on a couch in winter) and all night sleeping on my mum's bed. She breaks this up by eating and playing with her favourite catnip toy, which she catches in the middle of the night and wakes us up so we can approve it! When she is in the mood she loves a good cuddle from either mum or I, but hates strangers. If mum or I pat her one too many times however, we are liable to loose our hands! Scamper is a very intelligent cat and in her younger days got up to all sorts of mischief. For example, she was the only cat ever to escape the cattery whenever we went on holiday, and it was redesigned 3 times to keep her in! She never went far, she just thought the cupboards nearby were WAY more fun to play in!
Kiwi is my other rescue cat, and is a couple of years younger than Scamper. She absolutely loves to annoy Scamper, and ruin her routine by sitting and staring
at her! She is a VERY cuddly cat, although doesn't trust strangers thanks to the way she has been treated in the past. She loves nothing more than cuddles with me, and has the loudest, most high pitched purr I have ever heard in a cat. She is part Siamese, and so when she wants something, she asks in her ever so subtle yowl. She also loves to play with her toys (and roll all over Scamper's catnip) but unlike Scamper she doesn't get overly aggressive with them. She thinks eating and tearing up paper is great fun, and I was once able to go to school and legitimately pull out some shredded paper and say the cat ate my homework.
Both she and Scamper LOVE to tear up egg cartons, and then sit on them.
Josh is my 19 year old Australian Stock Horse (although because of the breed standards, he is also technically an anglo arab..). I have owned him for a couple of years now, and I absolutely love him. We focus mainly on dressage, although at this stage I don't compete much as I don't own a float. We occasionally do some small jumps to break things up, or in the good weather a trail ride. Josh LOVES fruit, and any people food really, including lime and chilli flavoured biscuits. He loves to roll and when the mood hits him, hoon around like a "Stupid Arab" as my instructor puts it.
Ciarra is my Cleveland Bay Sporthorse filly. She was born on the 17th of October, 2011. At the moment she is a little spoiled princess - her feed has to be made a certain way at an exact temperature, or she isn't interested! She also loved the beauty treatment, and will stand all day for a good scratch, brush and cuddle. Although she does pull some hilarious faces when she gets them - typical Clevie!
Unfortunately we don't do "pretty" for the camera.. :P
