Oars dip gently into the still water as the cave comes into sight.
A bead of sweat makes its way down to your chin as you blow wind out of your
mouth steadily, pulling hard on the oars to propel yourself closer. And all for what?
Mentally berating yourself, you bite your lip and watch as the cave mouth
gets closer and closer. Stupid. Why was it that you always got pushed into
doing things you didn't want to do? Stupid legends. Stupid villagers. Stupid superstitions.
Scowling, you recap...
Crash! Wincing and twitching with fear, you back up from the urn you just knocked over. "I'm sorry! I'll pay for it!" For some reason, some of the villagers start to cry. Mumbling apologies, you back up straight into the chest of the village chief. The chief, with a grave look, explains that you have just destroyed the Sacred Urn that had protecting them for many years. Dark Faeries, furious with this protection that kept the village out of their reach, would be flocking there soon to 'taste the forbidden fruit' and ravage the village as they had not been able to before. The only way to regain their protection was by obtaining sacred water from the cave nearby. However, that cave had been haunted for a few months by an unknown spirit...

Sighing, you pause and stare at the cave. It's dark, yawning mouth beckons you in. Sighing once more, you resume paddling. Your only consolation, it seems, is that the weather is still nice and the water is beautiful. The sun reflects off the surface, blinding you every now and then. Nearing the beach, you jump out of the small boat and push it into the sand, tying it securely to the palms nearby. Steadying yourself, you face the cave opening, and with a brave snort, you march in.
The cave is like any other cave: dark, moist, and creepy. No sign of the 'spirit' yet. Taking a vial from your pocket, you lean over and uncork it, holding it near the water to fill it. A small noise behind you makes you start. Turning around, you gaze wildly about you, but finding nothing there, you turn back and resume your task. You finish, hurriedly cork your bottle, stand, and turn to find yourself face-to-face with two large, curious, brown eyes.

YAH! Falling backwards, you land in the shallow pool of water, eyes wide and heart pounding. Strangely, there's no one in front of you. Heart racing even faster, you scramble to your feet and turn to find the eyes in front of you once more. Letting out another scream, you back up quickly, not taking your eyes off of the pale vision in front of you. Whimpering, you point at it with a trembling finger. "What are you?" It smiles, comes closer and whispers in your ear:
I Am Your Best Kept Secret

Sorry about the theatrics. If you knew my family, you'd understand. However, you have been caught trespassing on my land.
Oh...the villagers again? I've told them time and again that it's only me in this cave, but they have this silly notion that either I'm a monster or
I live with a monster. Either way works, I guess. They rarely bother me, and when they do, they send others who don't know anything about the myth they started.
You see, I started living in this cave about 5 months ago. The village chief came to visit me and, well, I accidentally
let slip a few things that scared him. So, he went back to the village and soon a rumor about this frightening creature started to circulate within the village. They avoid the cave now,
but I prefer it like that. I need time to myself and silence for my, for lack of a better word, powers to work. It's rather lonely here, but I've got no choice. Oh, I suppose I should introduce myself, then...

-Under Construction!-

[KIM] - It's really difficult to describe Kim,
so I'll just stick with the basics. She's fickle, loud, a deep thinker, and an obsessive fangirl. And she likes to jumpattack people.
She's also a procrastinator (to the extreme). This petpage has been in the works for maybe 1 and a half years now,
and when she finally makes headway on it, she stops to procrastinate some more.
[TARCO] - Tarco has changed so much over the years.
He used to be a Jhudora follower, until Jhudora 'accidentally-on-purpose' dropped him into the Cooking Pot
to see what would happen. He developed a split personality and would change from sadistic and evil to calm and silent.
He's tamed himself, though, and now all he does is sleep. When he is awake, he's out thieving in Neopia with his gang, Three Strikes.
It's rare to find him up and about. You'll be extremely lucky to catch him awake.
[SORROW] - Brought up in the orphanage, Sorrow
was close to giving up hope of having a family when Tarco found him and brought him home one day. He hasn't left since then, but he claims that he is still 'ownerless'.
The adoption papers say differently. A Light Faerie once marked Sorrow with a warning, so he's been scorned and looked down on for most of his life.
He's very independent and closed off, but sugar brings out his fun, lovable side. The leader of the Three Strikes, he can be rather
scary when he's in 'gang leader' mode.
[WHISPER] - Under construction

[NIGHT] - I first caught Night stealing jewels from the castle. He
lied to me, pretending that he had caught the theif and that he was merely returning what had been stolen. Later, however, he admitted to his wrongs and we became fast friends.
He and the castle guards aren't on the best of terms, seeing as he managed to get by them. He's a wily character, and fun to be around. I haven't seen him in a while, though.

Silhette sits up with a start and turns to gaze outside. The sun has been slowly disappearing over the
horizon. With a startled gasp, she picks you up and begins to usher you towards the cave entrace.
It's gotten so late! If you don't start back now, it'll be dark by the time you're halfway to the island.
Accompanying you to your boat, she helps you untie the boat and push it off. Feeling her sense of urgency, you begin to row, when suddenly you remember: the water! Turning back, you let out a cry as something is tossed towards you. Fumbling with the object Silhette has just thrown, you let go of your oars and stare down at it. A vial of water sits in your hands. Grinning, you turn to thank her, but she has disappeared.
Staring back, you smile slowly and turn to row. The brave, young Cybunny, living in solitude, will travel through your words. She deserves
some credit for her strength. Your boat makes a crunching noise as it pulls up on the beach. Anchoring the boat, you clambor out,
clutching the vial in your hands. As you turn, back facing the cave, the sun slowly disappears, allowing the night to take its place.
