Introducing Shoyru11152000
Hello dailyhop, I'm
Shoyru11152000 the Shoyru (of course).
Heather helped me make this simple little web page and when it's all done I'll be able to print it out and tape it on my picture wall, which is the one behind the register at Heather's new shop for surfers called the
SurfShack, which is along
Mystery Island's Omara Bay. Heather just moved to Neopia from some goofy blue planet called Earth, so she hasn't got enough money to stay at the
Neopian Hotel or to buy a
NeoHome. Yeah, we don't have a whole lot of NP; but we have each other! Heather loves me, and I love her.
I haven't had a completely horrible, face down in the mud and eating old boots while starving life, but I have had four different parents before Heather. This is my story, a tale recounting all of my adventure through Neopia, as Heather has been able to piece together from my memory and her encounters with my previous caretakers. It is a long one, so I recommend you buy some candy for your Neopet to munch on while you read. And now, finally, this is my story...
Biography
Chapter 1: Greetings & Good-byes
For a time, how long I
am not sure, but it was not as long as I have lived, I had been diagnosed
with the
Itch-y Scratchies.
It's a nast-y disease where your pet is covered in amazingly itch-y red
lumps. Anyway, I was slowly getting better, for I was brought to the
Water Faerie in the
Healing Springs
every day. However, for reasons unknown to myself at the time, my caretaker
decided to place me under the super-vision of the
Neopian Pound with only one
possession: a little white card that had little scribbly words across it
stating my condition and that I should be taken to the Healing Springs
everyday.
It took a lot of yelling and many tears from myself, but finally she pushed
me
away and I was guided away by the falsely gentle hand of the
receptionist's assistant toward the cages at the center of the compound.
I'll never forget how cold and dark they were kept...how I was kept, in
that frigid and stormy night on the 24th day of Relaxing, in Year 4.
But
I am not honestly one to complain or tell tales of the horrible place,
which is quite similar to a rotting building lined by hundreds of jail
cells, because I had many human visitors to see me in a very short amount
of time. And in a matter of less than an hour, Heather caught a look at me.
Heather
took a long look at the pet next to me and whispered to it some words of
compassion for it had been named something very cruel and, at the same
time, was left all alone in such a lonely and unsanitary place. Then she
stood up from her kneeling position, looked at me with her
shining deep brown eyes and gasped. At once I felt at home with this stranger.
I cannot properly describe the feeling when she called the receptionist to
unlock my cage, but it is wonderful and warm in that my experience in this
feeling was added by a parade of hugs.
Heather
brought me over to the front desk and paid for my adoption in full. Then,
after we stepped outside of the building, she read my instruction card. She
looked down at me again and thought for a minute. Then she knew exactly how
and what she was going to do to help me. We went over to the
Pharmacy
and Heather used the money that her friend loaned to her to buy the antidote
for my illness. She helped me rub the cream on the lumps on my face and
wings and instantly I was cured! I leapt up into her arms and wrapped my
little arms around her neck in thanks. I am so lucky to have a parent who
cares so much about me.
Chapter 2: Old Friends & New Enemies
The
next day, Heather and I went over to my previous owner's shop to visit her,
if she was there. The shop smelled very sweet, like cherry blossoms, and
had a large variety of ice lollies to look at. I found myself smiling
without realizing I was. Then we saw a Faerie Kyrii, whom I recognized at
once as my older sister
Twisted_Frost
I gave her a hug and told her to tell
Frosty
Jay that I had been cured of my disease and was very happy with my new
parent, Heather.
I
left the shop with a sense of happiness and at the same time, a sense of
loss. I missed the sweet shop. Heather noted my feelings and motioned for me
to fly up into her arms. She hugged me tight and said that it was ok to feel sad, but that I
shouldn't need to be because we can come to visit again, and
again, because she wanted me to be happy. I smiled and hugged Heather feeling
a new sense of happiness with the added want of adventure.
It
was on the following day that I challenged the
Clown
Chia. I failed, and tried again in the same day. Another defeat.
However, I felt an instinctive sense of stubbornness that told me I could
beat this clown if I kept trying. So I did. I faced two draws between the
chia and myself. Soon, I hoped, I would beat him.
My
level went up over the following days. First I grew to level 7 with the
help of
Coltzan's
Shrine. Then on the 7th day of Swimming, Y4, I won two levels by
playing
Dice-A-Roo
till the Silver Dice. I then grew to level 10 by successfully completing my
training at the Mystery Island
Training School
with
Master
Ryshu. I continued to grow and grow, and I recorded my progress on this
page, here (That until it became too much of a hassle and I decided not to list every power-up I made).
Chapter 3: Pains of the Past
2nd
day of Swimming, Y4. A person called
Richard
Osinski sent a telegram to Heather's mailbox asking about me. He said
that a thief had stolen me from him and put me up for adoption. I must have
been asleep at the time and been slipped a drop of a homemade memory loss
potion by the thief, for until Heather had received that message I had no
idea as to how I had been painted purple or grown to level six. Richard
arranged for us all to meet at the
Coffee
Shoppe to have a cup of Strawberry
Butter Tea.
We
talked about me for a long while, and then after we had a few laughs and
nodded about a hundred times, they both fell silent. I didn't dare to
speak. It was an eerie silence, sort of like the silence before a great
thunderstorm. I stared at the table silently until Richard said, "The
thing is... I'd like to have him returned to me..."
I was shocked. I looked up at
Heather for some comforting words of calm but I found a mirror. Though she
had seen this coming she was still unprepared to face such a question. She
stood up, picked me up out of my seat and made her way to the door. I'd
never seen Heather so upset.
That
evening, long after suppertime had ended and the shop shut up for the
night, I found her sitting by the register scribbling away at a very long
letter. I flew up from the front side of the desk, and landed on top of the
electronic register's monitor. "Whatcha' writin'?" I asked.
A
letter to Frosty Jay and Richard Osinski.
What's
it about?" I asked after awhile. Heather stopped writing again and said,
"You.
Me?"
I muttered, more to myself than to her. 'Is she going to give me back to Richard?'
I wondered. I knew Richard well, but he seemed like a memory from a very
distant past, more distant than Frosty Jay was to me now. I sat there
wanting to ask the question, but not wanting the answer that I was sure I
would receive.
I patiently waited for that
instinctive courage-filled stubbornness to fire up inside of me, but it
wouldn't. I felt hollow and unwanted, and suddenly my chin was wet. My
cheeks soaked in tears. Sobbing was inevitable and I couldn't stop any of
it. I loved Heather like she was my Shoyru mother, and I felt myself falling
to pieces over the thought that I might lose her so immediately.
Heather
was surprised by my reaction and quickly explained that she would never get
rid of me, no matter what the circumstances. I sniffled away my sobs and my
tears changed to those that fall in times of great joy. We hugged again, as
I thought and she said, "I love you...
Chapter 4: Links Broken
Heather
sent the letter, and a copy, to both of my known previous caretakers. She
asked them if they would like to be my guardians. However, Frosty snapped
back rather rudely, exaggerated an argument, and now Heather is no longer her
friend. During this argument Heather learned that Frosty had placed me in the
pound in hope that her friend would pick me up. Frosty and her friend
(whose name is still unknown) had made plans for my pick-up and yet they
never told me anything! Heather had just adopted me right before Frosty's
friend and so now I'm with her. I don't know what Frosty's friend was like,
but I do know that I am happy with Heather.
Richard never replied to Heather's
request. He did leave Heather a message before she even finished the letter
saying:
|
Tell Shoyru11152000 that I miss him and I'm sorry that
SOME CREEP put him up for adoption and hope he has a good owner. This is
good-bye, Shoyru11152000, I love you...
|
She waited to show
me this message until after he made his decision concerning Heather's request
in the letter. He never said anything, so Heather saw it best that I should
view his last words.
I only wish that things could have ended differently...
Chapter 5: 43508 Tiki Tack Street, Mystery Island
One dull morning while I was still asleep on my shelf under the register's counter, in Heather's shop, a dark-skinned and Tiki-masked man, native to Mystery Island and wearing a flower-covered red shirt and green shorts, entered our shop. Heather helped him buy some things and then he asked her if she had any Neopets because he thought he'd seen her before. Heather nodded and said to the man, who was the Tiki Tack Man, that she did indeed have a Neopet, and she described me to him.
He asked if I was in my NeoHome (for I was nowhere to be seen at the time since I was hidden behind the counter) and Heather laughed and said that we couldn't possibly afford a NeoHome within proximity of the SurfShack. The Tiki Tack Man drew forth a business card with the address and phone number of a business called: Mystery Island Construction Company. Then he scribbled his signature and handed it to Heather. Heather was a bit confused at this, but then he explained that she should call the place and tell them that the Tiki Tack referred her, and then they would give her a discount, so long as she picked a home on Tiki Tack Street.
Heather thanked the Tiki Tack warmly, although she was unsure if she would be able to afford the NeoHome he offered, even with the added discount.
I woke up from my prolonged night's sleep a little before noon in Heather's arms. I didn't mind sleeping like that, in her arms like a child, mostly because her arms were softer than the metal shelf under the counter. Heather noticed I was awake, and told me that we were going to check out some NeoHomes along the southern beaches of the island. I was completely awake now. And all the while along the bike ride through the Training Square and down Coconut Road I couldn't stop thinking about it. It had been a long time since I had my own bedroom or home to sleep in! I couldn't sit still in the straw basket attached to the bike's handle-bars and so I started to fly around Heather at first, and then I took my gliding higher above the surrounding buildings and palm trees.
The constuction company had given Heather a great discount on any home on Tiki Tack Street and they finally found one on the corner of it and Harbour Lane. The house was completly empty, but I was to happy with it (even in its emptiness) to leave to get our stuff, so we spent the night in the house's little courtyard and ate Chinese for dinner, like a picnic under the stars...
Chapter 6: Barred Love
21st day of Swimming, Y4. Heather and I had just added Chocolate wallpaper and tile to our Hallway and a Dwarf Tree & Rock Tree to the Coutryard garden when I felt the urge to go shopping for furniture. However, we never got to the Furniture Store, for something caught my attention and caused our plans for the day's plans bend toward another path.
I'll admit that the Blue Shoyru was very young, but she was no Baby Neopet. This Blue Shoyru was brought into the Pound by some very rude person, for she was only a week old. We were only a block away from the Furniture Store, but I commanded for Heather to stop the bike in front of the Pound, but we were still some distance from the Pound and I couldn't wait so I left her. I flew ahead through the busy sidewalks, and stopped, with my face pressed against the glass window pane of the Pound's front.
It was early in the morning, so the place didn't seem so scary as it did the last time I was here. I could see the person, her owner, place her on the counter before the same receptionist. The Pound was buzzing with people at the time, so I lost sight of the person within seconds of his departure. Then, when I looked back at the desk, she was gone. My heart was racing with fear, fear that I had lost her forever, and I had nothing to contact her again with. No name, no owner, nothing...
Heather, parked her bike abruptly against a light post and ran over to my side at the window. Heather watched my eyes dart back and forth in search of that Blue Shoyru. "I need to see her again, just once, again--"
What? Who?" Heather asked me, confused.
I hadn't realized I was speaking, and so I answered, "Huh?"
You said you needed to see
her again...?"
Yes," I explained that there was this Blue Shoyru inside that I had to see. She asked me why, and I fell silent. I never realized how swift and unexplanable this entire situation was. There was only one answer, a word whose meaning I only had felt in a parent-to-child way before. I took a breath and said.
Love...Because I
love her...
Heather was a bit surprized, almost as surprized as I was by my feelings. She asked if I had met her before, under the supervision of one of my previous owners, but I shook my head. It was love at first sight.
Then that fear came back. The fear that I had lost her forever. I sat down on the sidewalk, with my back against the brick wall like a plush doll. Heather glanced in the window for the first time since she'd arrived, and her eyes followed something to the entrance. I looked up at what she was looking at and saw a girl holdig in her arms a small Blue Shoyru. "It's her!" I yelped, barely able to contain my excitement. The girl was coming in my direction and I wasted no time in waiting, and flew to meet the Shoyru in the middle.
I was more than half the way there, and had received their attention, but shyness took hold and I was at a loss for words. The Blue Shoyru laughed at my shyness and asked me for my name. It took a moment to collect my thoughts and put my emotions in order, but I replied.
Shoyru11152000."
Mine's
YuichanMiko..."
After a period of silence, and after Heather and the girl,
Rachel Allen had met and talked for some time, I felt the need to speak up about my feelings before she was gone from me once more. I told her this,
I like you very much, and I really want to see you again, can I...
can I be your boyfriend?
And she said
yes. And that's how I met YuichanMiko...
Chapter 7: A Starry Night in the Courtyard
That night in the courtyard, in the same day that YuichanMiko and I had become boyfriend and girlfriend, Heather was planting some seeds in the ground and she heard a russling in the trees. She thought it was just the wind, but after ten minutes a twig snapped. Heather began to wonder if there was a Petpet wondering about the garden, she shrugged it off and continued sowing and planting her flower bed.
I made a big plate of chocolate chip cookis and two glasses of milk for us both to snack on in celebration of our good luck and decided that Heather was taking too much time out in the garden. I picked up one of the cookis, nibbled on it and walked over to the door leading out to the courtyard.
I nearly choked when I saw the thing! There was a bunch of stars right under the Dwarf Tree sparkling as if that was the sky. And it held a figure of some sort of winged creature. I managed to swallow the cooki; that had become lodged in my throat and screamed out Heather's name.
Heather! Heather!
Then I yelled, "There! There! No, over THERE! Under the Dwarf Tree! It's a monster!!! A Shadow Usul!!!
Heather and I watched as out of the shadows emerged a small female Star Shoyru. She blinked and turned her head toward the night sky, certainly her place of origin, if not the clouds of Faerieland. Heather, who was kneeling upon the earth, motioned for the Shoyru to come forward. Then she asked, "What's your name?
Melfina_Wind... I'm sorry for scaring you.
I was never frightened, but you did surprize me," said Heather very calmly and truthfully then she pointed at me and said,"That's Shoyru11152000, and I'm Heather.
We talked for awhile, but we never were told just how Melfina_Wind became a Starry Shoyru or where she came from. She did however tell us that she had been flying about and saw our beautiful little garden filled with Star Trees and found herself instantly in love with this new place. Heather and I then told her our story. Finally Melfina_Wind asked if she could stay with us, in this garden and our home forever. We both smiled and quickly agreed without hesitation to adopt her into our little family.
Chapter 8: Scrubbing Bubbles
2nd day of Hiding, Y4. The day before
Half Price Day, and neither I, Heather, or Melfina had begun to save our Neopoints. Heather hastly helped me, and Mel, brush our teeth and eat breakfast before heading out to the SurfShack. We both volunteered to help with the shop's stock that day and had to look our best so as to please any customers.
We were out the door pretty fast, and Heather had just started peddling down the sidewalk on her bike-- with Melfina already flying by her side-- when I tripped over a crack in the sidewalk, (I was the last to leave for I am the house's only gentleman, and gentlemen hold open the door for the ladies, and I had to lock the door... and yadda yadda..) and found a flyer about a Chia Pop & Snow Puff sale at that
Happy Icy Fun Snow Shop on the top of
Terror Mountain. I snatched the flyer and flew fast to catch up to them.
Mel saw the paper and asked me what it was. I handed it to her and then after Heather had looked it over, we agreed to take a trip to Terror Mountain to take advantage of the sale and fill our stock.
The last time I'd traveled to the mountain was a long time ago, with one of my previous owners, and the place didn't seem to be much different. We planned to take a ski lift or one of those tram cars to the top, but that morning we discovered that the power was down. A severe ice storm had pummeled the place, and now all the villagers relied upon fire and candle light until a special team of electritions would arrive the next day.
The three of us let out a sigh, and were about to return to the resting station where Heather had left her bike locked up, when Melfina cried, "Look!
Down two blocks and a bit elevated above the rest of the town of
Happy Valley was a little cabin with a candy cane sign that read, "Mountain Top Climbing Inc." We walked over to the log-lined building and stepped inside. Asleep at the counter was a White Lupe, clad in a Chia-down coat, with a mug of coffee before his snoring muzzle. Heather walked over to the counter, and revived the Lupe and began haggling the price of a Guide that could take us up the mountain for less than 500 NP. In the meantime Mel and I viewed the many plaques and pictures of previous mountain climbs that lined the walls and sat by the room's fire place.
Before we knew it, the White Lupe had let us borrow three of his spare coats and we were on our way up the Mountain along a path that was supposedly a faster shortcut than through the
Ice Caves. We were all tied together by a red cable wire and happily making our way along the route with Mr. Icehound (the Lupe Guide's name) leading us in the front.
I found the wire and harness a bit uneccessary and so I decided to ask him about it. I started to walk ahead but found (I was at the end of the caravan once again) that I would pull the others out of line so I dettached the mechanism and the wire from the leather harness and flew ahead to Mr. Icehound. He gave me a sleepy glance that held a suddle growl of annoyance. After I was sure he wasn't angry at me or anything, for he seemed like the grumpy sort, I asked,
Why do we all need to be tied together? It's not like we're "climbing" the mountain.
Mr. Icehound took a frantic look at my harness and became very angry. "There is danger everywhere! Get back there and tie yourself back on!
His sudden and anger-filled answer was not one to argue with, I walked a few steps and reached out for the cable as the others continued to mozy along-- but froze. We all did. A shrieking voice sounded wildly from atop of one of the ledges of the mountain and before we knew what was happening a Yeti had caused an avalanche and we were caught up in a wave of snow.
Many hours later, I woke up with a bandage around my head and and a campfire by my side in a little snowy cave-home. After waiting a few minutes I was greeted by my savior, a young little Blue Bruce by the name of
Scruby03. She wore a blue winter coat and held a bundle of berries for us to eat. We talked a bit about the avalanche and Scruby explained how she found me.
I was minded my own business collecting berries when I heard the avalanche and so I ran back into my cave. When I came out later on to continue I saw part of your left wing sticking out of the ground. I didn't know what it was at first, but I am a curious sort of Bruce so I dug you out, and when I discovered that you were a Shoyru I brought you back here and let you rest and warm up by the fire."
I asked her about her parents and stuff, but she answered that she was living here all alone. We made plans to seek out Heather, Icehound, and Mel, and I told her, Scruby, that I'd ask Heather about adopting her. Heather was very excited and began thanking me in a strange language. It was pretty funny.
The next day we found Heather and the others searching for me. Thanks to the cable wire they were able to stay together and were perfectly fine. Heather accepted my request to have Scruby03 adopted and now she is my little sister.
Chapter 9: Another Girl!? I'm the Only Boy!
9th day of Hiding, Y4. My little family was having a picnic one day in the courtyard and during the desert, which was Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream cones for everyone, Heather came up with the idea to create a Neopet of her own. She went on and on dreamily about how wonderful an Aisha, especially a yellow one, would be.
After lunch I decided on my own to find this pet for Heather. I flew all by myself over to Neopian Central's
Create-A-Pet Center and ordered a Neopet egg of an Aisha, that was yellow, and a girl. A machine whirred and out on a treadmill sort of thingy came a light yellow egg. They handed the egg over to me, plus a velvet pounch filled with a bunch of Neopoints, and I returned home.
I gave the egg to Heather all wrapped up in fancy paper and a big bow and she loved it even before she opened it, because she knew it was an egg. We all watched as it hatched, piece by piece. Heather was the most amazed, I was the most curious though.
Is this how I was born? I thought to myself. Finally the little one came out. Despite our wild petting of her furry little back she managed to fall asleep in Heather's arms.
She stood up with the kitten in her arms and I, along with my sisters, followed her into the house. We were extremely anxious to hear the name that Heather would give the kitten, and of course we all wanted the kitten to be named whatever name we could imagine. Heather wrapped the kitten up in a blanket and said in a soft whisper,
Goodnight my little
Wafflechan...
Chapter 10: Melfina's Missing and Meridell is under Attack
25th day of Storing, Y4. One day in the month of Gathering, two months past now, while walking past Kaloui's, a coconut-head native, music shop I became entranced to the melody of this song, "Wishing It Was". My mind has been haunted by these lyrics ever since...
Beauty and grace is what touches me most...
Good times can put me in fear...
I always feel safe when things are bad...
So I cannot let you come near...
It seems that I thrive on the dark side of things...
I always feel alive when the death-bell rings...
Now you come and bring out the tears in me...
This morning began like all others, a chatty bunch at the breakfast table, a sleepy afternoon at the shop counter, but as noon approached, plans began to change.
Heather came into the shop around eleven-thirty. Wafflechan came in by her side, with Klinorchurro holding her right hand and Cotashi peeking out of her backpack. Wafflechan's so weird. Reminds me of those little Pokemon trainer-people, like Ash and etc.
Shoyru, I need you to watch Waffle and the Pets, Scruby's already at the Training School for her lesson-- Melfina is missing..." Heather said abruptly. Her quickness and concern seemed to distract the majority of the shoppers.
What!? Mel's missing? When did you--"
Right after I dropped Scruby off for her lesson. I checked all the Start Trees and plants in the courtyard, but there's no sign of her anywhere...Shoyru...
Let me look for her; I'd be able to--
No. Shoy, you need to watch your sister and pets...Melfina is my responsibility. Promise me you'll stay here and take care of things while I'm gone...
Ok...I promise." I answered with great reluctance.
How could Heather, a plain ordinary human with no power to fly, no car, very little money, and few friends be able to find Mel? However, I knew I must always obey Heather's deicisions. If she felt it was her job, then there was no arguing. Heather ran back outside, hopped on her bike and sped off. Waffle began gnawing on some Tchea Fruit.
Hey! Stop that, Waffle! That's for the customers!" I hollared. I swooped down from the counter and began a desperate struggle with the ironically strong baby Aisha that was my little sister, Wafflechan. Waffle turned her back to me. I reached around her and found a pair of Snorlkin fangs embedded into my right arm.
OW! Let go Klinorchurro!" I tried to shake of the little Gengar-like Petpet, but it was too late. Waffle was already swallowing the remaining leaf of the now absent Tchea Fruit.
Wafflechan..." I let out a long sigh. This was going to be one long afternoon...
Hours later, around dinner time, Scruby came into the SurfShack. Her lesson had finished some time ago, and she'd tired of sitting at home waiting for Heather or us to get there.
Where's mom, Shoy? I haven't seen her since this morning, and she left a weird note on the refrigerator at home saying she was, 'looking for Melfina'?" Scruby asked picking a plushie off the rack to entertain Waffle.
I don't know...she left to look for Melfina awhile ago, before lunch..." I replied handing the last customer their receit.
Why didn't you look for her, you're a 'Shoyru' after all.
I know. I tried to tell Heather--
Mom...
Heather--that, but she wouldn't listen to me." I walked over to the door and flipped the "Open" sign to "Closed".
Why do you always call Mom 'Heather'?" Scruby asked in a strange tone. I flew over to a misplaced item, ignoring this. I often asked myself the same question. I always have seen Heather as a mother figure, but I never refer to her as such. Scruby frowned at my ignorance and asked again,
Shoy, why do you always do that?" Scruby.
These kind belong over there..." A diversion.
That's not what I meant, and you know it..." There was a long pause as I placed the item in its rightful place and Waffle began to play with Klinorchurro and Cotashi instead of Scruby.
Shoyru...you've changed." Scruby said rather sadly. I stared straight blankly at the back of the shelf's wall.
Have I changed? Of course not! I spun around.
No I haven't!" My words echoed in a sharp resonance. They'd come out more harshly than I meant them to, and I didn't know why that had happened...
Don't deny it. You
have changed. We don't talk anymore, you're so aggresive, and you're always finding reasons why Waffle is annoying you or why you should take care of the shop all by yourself--"
Heather asked me to work here!
She only offered that you help out--
Shut up! You're...you're just jealous that I get to
do something! What! I had crossed the line... "How dare you say something like that!?" I plunged further...
Because it's
true! I was yelling now. It was like something had wrapped me in a straight-jacket and had taken over all of my emotions, thoughts, and soul...
What am I saying? Or more importantly, what am I doing?
Scruby's eyes began to twinkle reflections of the street light outside. She no longer wished to cause further argument and had herself been greatly hurt to the point of unbearable tears. The thought of an apology never crossed my new dark mind...
Well, you should feel--" A wrasping at the glass windows in the front of the store. Everyone glanced to see a very scared Usul banging her fist on the glass. I flew over to the door, Waffle came running, Scruby was a bit slower...
We're closed--
The war! The war's begun!" cried the Usul, whom I know recognized was the neighboring store owner.
Wawr?" Waffle struggled to understand.
What?" I said, "What
war?" I asked. I hadn't heard anything about any war...
Meridell vs. Darigan! Who doesn't know!? Oh--I gotta go! Later!" and she ran back to her shop.
Darigan? Who's that?" Scruby muttered.
No idea..." I replied.
Where's Heather now?
Chapter 11: Forged Through Darkness
23rd day of Celebrating, Y4. I'll tell you this, someone sure forgot to let me in on this whole war thing. I didn't know what I was doing at all. I could barely remember how the others went. This was different though. We had a choice, more than once, to choose our sides. I don't know why but I chose Meridell. To be entirely honest I'm not exactly even sure which side is right, all I know is that Heather and Melfina are in this war, caught in it, somewhere along the battle field--and the only way i can save them is to help save one of the sides. And so I chose Meridell.
It's very cold tonight, as I write about the beginning, how innocent I was then. Now nothing seems right. I've considered switching over to Darigan more than once. After the rumors began to fly around our base I couldn't help but wonder about the sincerity of this story. Was it true? That Darigan had had its own innocence stolen from it long ago and only were seeking this in return? But what country kills for this innocence? This freedom from evil? And I suddenly remember the story Heather told me about this one place, she talked endlessly about it. She said that it were her real home, not that this home on Mystery Island wasn't, or wasn't as special. Heather explained to me that she isn't from Neopia, how (as everyone knows) humans come from Earth and stay on Neopia only part of the time.
It was difficult for me to understand, but she says that Neopia's time, its world, revolves around the players--the humans. That when she leaves I am aging still--but I remain the same, and when she returns it feels to me as if it were she never left.
Anyway, now I'm lost. I still have my weapons and supplies in order--but I'm all alone, but for these stars. They remind me of Melfina..and Heather...and Yuichanmiko. How will she, Yuichan, feel when I can't come to exchange gifts with her one Christmas Eve? I can only imagine. I feel so stupid. Why'd I even join this thing. I've been looking for so long...
I dozed off there for a moment. I can't believe I just did. Perhaps it is the natural result of this stress and my own refusal to sleep. Oh how I wish this would just end. This everlasting night...

My Petpet: Cotashi
|
I went Petpet searching with Heather one day (28th day of
Relaxing, Y4) during one very dry and hot day. We checked out the lists
of Petpets available. Heather said that I should have a very special pet
(since I was so special) and that only I would know which Petpet was for
me. So, we left the shelter of our not so-great-air conditioned SurfShack and headed for the Shop Wizard for directions.

After nearly an
hour of searching for the perfect pet, that was within our budget, we
finally entered one
shop that wasn't
very large, but it was said (by the Shop Wizard) to contain a Pink
Slorg priced at only 5,000 NeoPoints (opposed to the average 9,000NP).
A young male yellow Kau stepped forward and said, "I'm
Kootjuh,
how may I help you?
We're looking for a
Pink Slorg." I told him. Kootjuh nodded and guided us over to the
shelves that lined one wall of this shop. I could see something smooth
and pink four shelves above my head. I flapped my wings until I was face
to face with the sleeping Pink Slorg. "Heather! Heather! It's here! It's
here!"
Heather picked the Slorg up and
asked Kootjuh where the register was, and she handed the Petpet to me. I
hugged it tight and waited for Heather to finish the purchase. She returned
in a moment and we began our way back to our shop on Mystery Island...
