EVERYTHING HERE IS OUTDATED AND STUFF WILL BE ALL PRETTY SOON, MMKAY?

-The management It has been a well-known symbol of Altadorian history: the brave gladiator grarrl brandishing his sword. Immortalized in constellation, those tough neopets have gained their reputation as fierce fighters, relentless to the end. Alas, the passing of years of history has warped what really went on in the ancient years of Altador, back when that old Colosseum was used for a much more sinister practice than the annual yooyuball tournament many have grown to love.

Sure, grarrls often were used in gladiatorial combat back in the days of old, but not as much so as the yurble. Quick, smart, and rather feisty, yurbles were not only good, entertaining battlers, but many lived nearby in neighboring tribes outside the ever-growing Altadorian empire. Yurble tribes were invaded, the ones fit for use enslaved. The ones in their older years were sent off to the pit mines and famed perfectly flat rock quarries (or are they perfectly flat rock quarries?, but the ones who were young, fit, and healthy were went off to gladiator schools and trained for their inevitable death in the arena.

Not many made it out of arena life alive, and usually only ten or so out of 100 survived. The rate is alarming, yes, but we must think back to more savage times, when not even literature was available to the lower classes. It was sport that entertained the masses, and such civil sports like yooyuball just didn't exist. The shedding of blood pleased them, and the gladiators were always ready to bring sick joy to the ogling spectators of Ancient Altador.

So how does this pertain to anything, say?

Well, friend. You will just have to see for yourself.
