Sezirue is easily one of the most adorable and yet misunderstood Mutants in the family. His goofy outlook on life and oftentimes vacant appearance tend to hide his true nature. Like many Mutants who have felt the lash of a society that does not except them, he's very shy. His sunny disposition is perhaps his best trait and is cherished by all who know him well. And it is his desire to help other abandoned pets (like he once was) that has led him to come out of his shell. He's well acquainted with the fears of abandonment and the anxiety of waiting to be adopted), and as such the Mutant Adoptions cause is near and dear to his heart.

His deep need to help others, particularly those less fortunate Mutants who have yet to find their permanent home, has lead him to work hard on behalf of Mutants everywhere encouraging the adoption and most importantly, he works to encourage Neopians to cherish the Mutants in their lives for their own special traits!

June 26, 2009: Huge updates have been made to the site today, including the addition of the list of the pets stuck on the pound_release account which used to be listed on the main Mutant Militia page. Hope you enjoy your visit!!

August 25, 2008: Happy Mutant Day Everyone! And welcome to this brand new branch of the Mutant Militia - Mutant Adoptions!!! Please have a look around and who knows - maybe you'll be able to adopt one of these loveys for Mutant Day!!

Welcome

Welcome to Mutant Adoptions! This is yet another branch of the marvelous and ever-growing Mutant Militia! While we have been anticipating launching this page ever since April of 2007, for various reasons, it finally came to fruition Mutant Day 2008! So we certainly welcome all mutant fans here and we hope you'll look around and maybe even decide to take one of the lovely Mutants listed below home with you!

Originally, this site was only used to list Mutants that were currently UFT or UFA. However, the need to address further issues has brought about significant change to the site of Mutant Adoptions. In fact, the name "Mutant Adoptions" does not really cover the page's purpose entirely, but as yet I have been unable to think of a better one so this shall have to do! ;)

So what does Mutant Adoptions do now? you might ask. Well, of course we are still quite willing to list any Mutant pets that are up for adoption. Anything we can do to encourage Neopians to bring Mutants into their homes and loving arms must be a priority. But you'll also find information here on specific ways to adopt, where to find Mutants that might be up for adoption, Mutants that are stuck on the pound_release account (and thus you can pound surf for them), as well as tons of other information. Sezirue and I hope you'll enjoy the site and if there's any additional information you think you could use, please don't hesitate to contact me, GetxthexPoint.

About the Mutant Orphanage

This branch of the Mutant Militia was initially started because there are tons of Mutant pets out there in Neopia just looking for a kind owner to adopt them. However, for various reasons, these Mutants often have difficulty getting adopted. GetxthexPoint decided that it would be great to have a page where any Mutant pet up for adoption could be posted so that Mutant fans Neopia-over could come to one central location to find tons of Mutant pets up for adoption without having to stalk Neoboards or go off-site or anything like that!

But you might be wondering why, when there are so many other amazing neo orphanages like The Official Neopian Orphange (TNO) (which is Banet's other guild) and Neopound, we felt it was necessary to create a mutant-only orphanage.

Well, the first reason is simply that we typically get a lot of requests from people who would like their Mutant foster who is up for adoption to be listed in the Mutant Militia with a note saying they're up for adoption. We of course have always agreed to do that, but it's hard for someone searching the directory to find the few pets out of the hundreds in the directory who are up for adoption. So it seemed like a seperate page would be better to help meet this need.

But perhaps more importantly, it's that many orphanages don't appreciate or allow mutants. Neopound is a perfect example. They refuse to allow many types of Mutants to be added to their orphanage. Now I'm not trying to say anything bad about Neopound because I think they offer a great service, and I certainly understand why they don't want to be overwhelmed by the vast numbers of Mutant moehogs, for instance, that may be up for adoption at any one time, especially when certain types of Mutants don't tend to get a lot of attention.

But the point is that if places like Neopound and other adoption sites won't even let you list certain Mutant pets, how do you get the word out there when you have a Mutant pet up for adoption? After all, Mutant Moehogs need love too!

*Love me!*

Well the Mutant Militia may not get as many hits every day as Neopound surely does, but one thing is for certain. The people that visit the Mutant Militia LOVE mutants, and you know they just might be willing to take one more lovely Mutant into their hearts and homes. So it just seemed natural to have a Mutant Oorphanage associated with the Mutant Militia! And here it is!

But you might ask yourself why you even want to adopt a mutant? Well, first, they're just so cute, though in an oftentimes grizzly kind of way. I mean who can't fall in love with a face like this!?!

Please take me home!

Second, they're just awesome! Ok so that's about the same as the first one. We all know mutants rock so here are some other reasons that you should open your heart to a mutant. By adopting a mutant pet, you're not only saving a pet, you're also saving one of the most misunderstood pets in Neopia. After all mutants can be just as loving and wonderful as any other pet, and by giving them a chance, you show not only that you have a lot of compassion but that you can look past a sometimes ugly face and see the true beauty within!

We're confident that after you've spent some time getting to know the fosters below you'll fall in love with Mutants just as much as we have!

As an additional note, all Mutant foster pets here are listed with the permission of their foster parents. And if you're a foster parent who would like to have your Mutant listed here you'll find information later in the page on how to get your pet added!

We have high hopes that this will be a valuable service for Mutant lovers everywhere as well as for the foster pets who are anxiously awaiting the perfect owner!

Enjoy!

*NOTE 2.0* If there are no Mutants listed in the species that you are looking for, please don't hesitate to neomail me. Adding Your Foster

If you would like to have your Mutant foster added to the above list, please simply neomail Banet_eh_Rih with the following information:

Foster's Name:
Species:
Rules page (if you have one):
Special Details/Comments:

I'm willing to be very flexibile with the listings at this moment, so if you just want the name of your pet listed as up for adoption, that is just fine. But if you would like pictures you've done or maybe information about a zapped petpet that comes with your foster please send that along too and I'll be sure to add it!

I will send you an email back after I have added your pet to let you know the pet is up. And while it's not required, it would be very nice of you to link back after your pet is added so that other Mutant fosters may get some attention! And of course once your pet has been adopted please let me know that they've been adopted (see information below).

*NOTE: For the moment I'm also willing to list pets that are Up For Trade. If your pet is up for trade instead of adoption please be sure to let me know that and also to let me know what type of pet you're looking for in exchange (within reason).

Removing Your Foster

Once your pet has been adopted, please neomail Banet_eh_Rih so that your pet can be removed from the Foster listings. Please be sure to include both the name of the pet as well as the species!

Also, if you've recently adopted a Mutant and find that your new pet is still listed on this page, please feel free to contact me so that the pet can be taken down. I definitely don't want people trying to apply for Mutants who have already found their forever home!

Adoption Tips

The best tip for applying for a pet is to Read the Rules of the foster parent as all foster parents have different rules and while it's probably true that most prefer petpage applications that isn't always the case. So try and tailor your application to the foster parent first and foremost.

After that your best bet is to be as creative as you can and try and show real interest in the pet to show the foster parent why you would be such a great permanent owner!

And most imporantly (in my book), you need to show some effort on the pets you currently have. The treatment you give your current pets is what indicates to me (as a foster parent myself) how well you'll take care of the pet you adopt from me.

So those are my brief tips on applying for a pet, but there are a number of wonderful Neopians who've put together much better sites focused solely on giving you tips for making an application. My favorite by far is linked to below, and I hope that helps! There are many others but this one should tell you everything you need to know about creating a petpage application!

Places to Find Mutants

Obviously, there are tons of mutants up for adoption or trade in Neopia and only a few are actually listed here. So this section is dedicated to helping you do your own research out there in Neopia to help you find the perfect Mutant for you.

The Neopian Pound

The first place (or at least the most obvious place) to look would be the Neopian Pound. The problem though is that it's fairly limited because pound surfers are everywhere and it's very hard to get a painted pet out of the pound, Mutant or otherwise.

Adoption Agencies

The second type of place you should consider is a reputable Adoption Agency. There are tons of great people out in Neopia who are dedicated to finding all sorts of abandoned pets (including Mutants) good homes! Here are a few of the big ones:

The Official Neopian Orphange
Neopound

You can also find a listing of tons of other Adoption Agencies at the Void Pet Directory or at Cieque's Directory of Adoption Agencies.

You'll also notice that there are pages where you can list your dream pets and then people will give them to you once they get the pet you requested. The Dream Pet Zappers page is an example of just such a site. But there are plenty of other dream pet listing pages that you can find with minimal effort.

All of these adoption/foster sites are great resources for finding Mutant pets. What's even better is that Foster parents will often have significantly improved these Mutants with training, faerie abilities, gourmet foods, and reading/intelligence. Plus, it also gives you the leisure to look through these pages to pick the pet that's really perfect for you and draws your attention!

The Neoboards

While I consider adoption agencies to be the best places to find Mutants up for adoption (UFA), you can also find Mutants UFA or up for trade (UFT) on the Neoboards (both Premium and Regular). Specifically, you can visit the Neopian Pound Board and search through the threads posted there. As a note of caution though, most people there will be looking to trade pets rather than simply allow you to adopt their Mutant. But that said, if you have a pet you are willing to trade than perhaps two people's dream pets can find good homes instead of one by executing a trade.

If you are going to use these boards you should be aware of a few additional abbreviations:

-VWN or WN = Very Well Named or Well Named (referring to people who are looking for a pet that has a good name - usually meaning one without numbers or underscores).
-RW = Real Word (referring to a person looking for a pet with a name that is an actual real world, usually in English but sometimes other languages too.)
-BD = Battledome (means that the pet should or does have above average battledome stats).
-FFQ = Fountain Faerie Quest (sometimes people will trade their FFQ for a pet. AKA if you will trade them your Desert Cybunny, they will take a pet and use their FFQ on it to paint it any color you want - including Mutant).
-U C = Unconverted (meaning this pet is still using the old art that existed prior to April 2007).

Just remember that if you agree to a trade you will be bound by the agreement. Failing to complete a trade as agreed could result in you being reported and frozen.
-UFQA = Up for Quick Adoption (meaning that the foster parent doesn't want a long appication and instead just wants to adopt the pet out quickly - often a simple neomail saying you're interested is enough).

Also, I personally don't like the trading of pets because I think it discourages people from creating good personalities and ideas for their pets and encourages people to think of them as pixels that can be easily swapped just like any other item. But that said, it's not illegal so feel free to do so.

The Mutant Militia's Mutant Foster Project

At the Mutant Militia, we're always looking for fun activities to do that won't violatie TNT's rules, but that will enable us to help our fellow members or otherwise advance the cause of Mutants in Neopia. Since GetxthexPoint's first guild was an orphanage guild and obviously adoption is near and dear to her heart, she has long wanted to have a Mutant Militia Foster Project. The concers though were how to allow the guild to be involved without violating TNT's rules since money pools are not allowed (and for very good reason), and it wouldn't seem appropriate (under the same rule) for guild members to send in books, dubloons or codestones that could be used to educate or train a pet. While I think it's fair to say that we all have the best of intentions, the proverbial concern that the road to you no where is paved with good intentions, certainly illustrates TNT's rules. Enough said there, I think you catch my meaning.

The good news is that due to Malling, GTP, finally managed to make enough to be able to reasonably support the Mutant Militia's Foster Projects all on her own (as long as they were reasonably priced). Sorry, there will not be any Mutant Draiks on our foster projects!! So in Thanksgiving of 2010, the guild finaly came up with it's plan for a Mutant Militia Foster Project. We called it the "Tis the Season to be Giving" Foster Project because so many of us had so much to be thankful for and we wanted to give back.

The rules are as follows. GTP (with the help of the guild where possible) will adopt a pet with a suitably mutant-y name, often chosen from lost.quiggle because those pets are all "stuck" in the pound and thus can allow for some guild discussion before the pet is adopted.

Once the pet is adopted, GTP begins labbing the pet for stats, while guild members post on the board with the 3 species that they think the pet should be. GTP compiles the results and then takes the top five most-voted for pets and puts them up on the Guild Poll for everyone to vote for the species. Now as said before, Mutant Draiks and Krawks are out of the question. Generally the limit is that the transmogrification potion must cost less than 1 mil.

Once the species is chosen, GTP sets about finding the TP (without using any guild funds!) and paints the foster pet ASAP. Once the pet is painted, they're advertised as being UFA, and then finally, once we get some applications, the guild is given approximately one week to review the applications and vote on the guild poll to decide who should get the foster pet! Sounds fun, no?!

Below is a list of our past foster pets!

Past Mutant Militia Foster Projects

Fulmarus

Fulmarus was the 1st Mutant Foster Project! He was adopted on December 31, 2010 by Slamming (Khaos). Khaos is a wonderful artist and did a truly lovely application for Fulmarus. The voting on who should get Fulmarus was very, very close between Khaos and one of our guild members, but I'm positive that she's gone to a wonderful home!

Just for history's sake, Fulmarus very nearly ended up being a Mutant Tonu (which is why Deralic is one). During the voting, the mutant tonu was the leader for a long time, but the final results of the poll (which ended on December 6, 2010) were: Lupe - 6, Tonu - 4, Eyrie - 3, Pteri - 2, Peophin - 1.

Deralic

Deralic is the 2nd Mutant Foster Project, and he's currently UFA! Deralic ended up being a Mutant Tonu because during the vote for Fulmarus' species it became clear that many of our guild members wanted to see a Mutant Tonu Foster Project.

Mutants Stuck in Pound_Release

You may remember when the pound reopened ages ago that thousands of pets that had been in the pound were frozen (including many mutants) to keep the servers from overloading. All of these pets are no longer frozen; instead, they're all on a single TNT operated account - the pound_release account. And now TNT is gradually releasing the pets from the pound_release account. Rumor has it that TNT releases more pets every Thursday, but I can't guarantee that. Below is a list of all of the known Mutant pets that are still on the pound_release accounting waiting to eventually be put back into the pound. If you're interested in a adopting a Mutant pet you can try stalking these names to try and snag them when they're eventually released. Here are the names:
