My name is Joey and I'm 26 years young. I've been in Neopia for more than 10 years and have only taken a break from the site once during that time (and missed out on a few one-time avatars ). In real life, I work in IT with my bff (Kisa Rinface) and spend most of my time obsessing over various things which are listed neatly below. I love things to be organized, even if I'm quite messy.

Aside from my pets, my biggest source of pride on the site is my 100% complete Chokato Gallery. It's a huge, long-time goal of mine to win Gallery Spotlight. *hands you a CHOKATO IS A FRUIT, NOT A VEGGIE button to wear* It's an important message so spread the word!

I also put a great deal of time and effort into avatar collecting. I've got most of the Big Ones (MSPP, SUAP, Chokato) but am rather horrid at earning the game avatars. I'm pretty sure the Bilge Dice avatar is impossible and I will never get the Grundo Snowthrow one.

I guess, when I consider my gallery and avatar collection, I would classify myself as a collector. My SDB is filled to the brim with tons of items and I've spent a great deal of time and money on collecting Neodeck cards as well as stamps & coins. It would be smart of me to concentrate all my time and resources on just one collection goal, but I can't do it. I WANT IT ALL!

noteworthy accomplishments

A picture of my homemade plushie slorg was featured in the Art Gallery on page 23. I won a trophy as well as an item, though I can't remember now what it was!

A comic I drew of Stethacanthidae made it into the Neopian Times. That was back when I was zapping him in hopes of him turning Maraquan. It was in Issue 347 and I was awarded a trophy.

My poem The Red & Gold Hissi of Shenkuu was published in the Poetry Gallery on May 4th, 2011. I won a trophy and a Feloreena! It was my first time having a poem published.

I won the Lenny Conundrum avatar on May 11, 2011 by guessing correctly in Round 401.

Stethacanthidae

the lazybones

Stethacanthidae's (pronounced Steth-uh-canth-uh-day) name comes from the scientific name for an extinct family of shark from the Carboniferous period and so, as you can imagine, he was created in the hopes of becoming a Maraquan Grarrl.

Steth (as we like to call him -- our tongues need a rest sometimes) can usually be heard complaining to Quentin, his Floud, about his grumbling belly. Being a Grarrl, he's got an appetite as big as a Skeith's and there's honestly nothing he won't eat. His favourite food, though, are BBQ Porkwiches. They help him put on the pounds which is something he's proud of.

You would think that having a great big toothy shark in the family would ensure we have someone to act as a guard dog but Steth isn't interested in that. I would have to guess that 70% of his time is spent eating, 20% of it is spent sleeping and the other 10% is spent talking about eating and sleeping. He's a bit of a lazybones (let's keep that between you and me) but we love him anyway. I mean, really, who wouldn't? Just look at that face.

The only thing that ever seems to get and keep his attention is the Altador Cup. He cheers for Team Maraqua (of course) and, with a mouth that big, is pretty darn loud about it. Because of that, the rest of the family tends to join in and cheer for his team as well.

Ateayu

the globetrotter

Ateayu was my very first Neopet ever. He's a bit of a nerd and is absolutely obsessed with travel. He runs a Travel Center and, in his spare time, pours over books and maps, planning out his next adventure.

Ateayu was born as a yellow Kacheek but as soon as I gained access to the lab ray (way back when it only cost a few thousand NP), he turned into a Blumaroo and I fell in love. I painted him white just as soon as I'd saved up enough NP and he's been a white Blumie ever since. Of all the pets I have ever had, as of now he is the only one that I will never, ever change. I think customization suits him, don't you? Since customization happened, he is best known for his argyle sweater-vests and thick-rimmed glasses.

Being my first Neopet, and considering I've been around for more than 10 years, Ateayu's no spring chicken. He's getting on in years (his hair's getting a bit grey -- there's no need to rub it in) but would never let that slow him down. Over the years he's gotten quite a few stamps in his passport and has been everywhere, except the Lost Desert and Lutari Island (not counting Kreludor and the Space Station -- he's a Blumaroo, not an astronaut). His favourite thing about traveling is experiencing the different cultures and, of course, sampling the food. Once our family has the NP to spare, Ateayu plans on getting back into eating gourmet foods. He says his sensitive palette is being damaged by all the chokato crisps we have around.

Currently, Ateayu spends a lot of time in the back room of his Travel Center, planning his trip to the Lost Desert. He's expecting to make the trek in the Month of Hunting and will make a week-long stop in Neovia along the way. He can nearly taste the grilled ummagine already.

Misdirecting

the haunted prince

Misdirecting was found alone and sad in the Pound, but even though he was in that horrible place, I could tell he was special and adopted him quickly. There was something about him, the way he padded around his cage with his head held high and his big blue eyes sparkling. I knew this guy was destined for greater things.

The second he got settled in, I started zapping him. He was rather quiet and kept to himself at first, but after a short while he started to act more like himself. He helped everyone out with whatever needed to be done, came up with great plans to get the Neohome better organized and spent a great deal of time wandering around Neopia Central. It wasn't until about a year after he arrived that he came to me and told me of his past.

He comes from a royal family that used to rule over Meridell centuries ago. Through some rather cunning magic and manipulative tricks, executed by a close family friend, the throne was stolen from them and their family exiled and cursed. As new generations were born and Meridell had new royal families who were far kinder and better-suited to the throne, Misdirecting's family decided to keep silent about their lineage.

So, our precious pup is a prince! I could hardly believe it, but once I knew, it felt like a puzzle piece that fit just perfectly into the puzzle. He also shared with me his worries about the family curse, though he doesn't know for sure what exactly it entails.

As the days pass, I can see that Misdirecting is slowly becoming more prince-like and taking on more responsibilities as a prince should. But sometimes, out of the corner of my eye, I can see some sort of shadow. I say shadow but it isn't like any shadow I've ever seen before. And, to be honest, I'm not entirely convinced it is just a shadow. I think sometimes Misdirecting notices it, too, but he doesn't seem that worried about it so maybe I'll just let it go. Though, there does seem to be something curious happening to Misdirecting's eyes...

Einstein

the white wizard

Einstein (or, technically, Einstein_the_3rd) was my second pet in Neopia. He began his life as a green Mynci and began reading books right away. I have to admit, as proud as I am of his intelligence stat, he was able to accomplish most of his reading back before books disappeared after they were read, so it was a bit less costly back then. But in any case, as you can probably guess from his name, I could tell right away that he was going to be brilliant.

As the years passed and I grew older, so too did Einstein. While he was once a young, energetic Neopet, the last few years have seen his fur grow white and his beard grow long. His knowledge of the world and the way it works has increased tenfold in the last few years and he has discovered that maybe it is finally time to follow in the footsteps of his ancestors.

Both Einstein's father and his grandfather, for whom he's named, were also powerful magical creatures. His grandfather Einstein was a powerful fire mage who could hurl fireballs as large as Elephantes, and his father Einstein an incredible white mage known for healing spells. Einstein tends to think of himself as a wizard for he is able to use energy from the world around him as the source of his magic.

Intensely intelligent, Einstein is also rather quiet and can seem grumpy, though his heart is big and warm. That twinkle in his eye is what usually gives him away.

Einstein shows off his incredible strength as the family's Battledome pet. His spells are like none other and usually result in a swift victory, though his body is frail and his armour little more than cloth robes. Geth, his sidekick, is never far from his side and Einstein can often be seen speaking to Geth in such a low voice no one else can hear him.

Even though it's as if Einstein has more than enough knowledge to go around, he spends a lot of time in the various libraries throughout Neopia. He doesn't spend too much time in the popular sections, choosing to lose himself in dusty, ancient texts and scrolls.

In his spare time, you can find Einstein in his dusty old shop down one of the more abandoned streets of Neopia Central. Bottled Infamy is little more than a tiny hole in the wall, filled to the brim with stacks of scrolls and hundreds of bottles filled with mysterious liquids and objects. If you know what you're looking for you may find something to buy, but mostly it's a place for Einstein to keep his things.

Einstein has one other dear friend outside of the family. You've probably run into him at the Lunar Temple in Shenkuu. They like to take their tea together each day and can chat for hours, much like a couple of gossiping teenage girls.

Caaryatid

the female warrior

Caaryatid comes from the word "caryatid" which is the name given to the sculpted female figures that served as support columns for Greek buildings. The definition imparts a feeling of strength in femininity to the word and I felt it was a really good name for a female pet.

When Caar was created she was turned into a Mutant Scorchio almost immediately. The fact that she was a mutant lent a sort of irony to her name that I really enjoyed. Once customization came around, I converted her in hopes of being able to dress her and make her a more feminine-looking mutant but it was never really an option and I began to regret having converted her at all.

Once Mighty joined the family, I realized it was a good reason to finally find Caaryatid a new look.

At this point, Caar is being zapped daily in hopes of turning Relic, though a Lost Desert zap would be helpful as well (she needs her LD gauntlets). Once she finally turns Relic, I will be transferring her over to her permanent home on joeysaurus. Then I'll paint a WN pounded Grarrl Royal for the tailring and she'll be all ready to go. I can't wait!

I will spend some more time developing her story once she's ready to go with her final look.

Caaryatid was born on April 15th, 2004.

I have spent 390,000 np so far on Grarrl Transmogrification potions for Caaryatid while she's being zapped with the lab ray daily in hopes of Relic.

Serendippitie

the breathtaking baker

Serendippitie was the third pet I created on Neopets and she is the only female I have on my main account. Because of this, she tends to be a bit spoiled both by myself and by her older brothers. She's rough and tumble but is very interested in flowers and skirts and other pretty things.

Serendippitie began her life as a Gelert with plans to become a Unicorn Gelert but I wasn't able to save up for a Unicorn PB before they were removed from the site. Then, back when the Rainbow Fountain required coupons given to users who signed up with Neopet sponsors, I was able to turn her into a beautiful Faerie Gelert. After awhile Ser and I decided she was ready for a new look so I bought a royal paint brush then morphed (via the lab ray) and painted her. Now she's quite gorgeous, wouldn't you say?

She likes to flit around in the sky but thoroughly enjoys the water as well. She spends a lot of time in Faerieland because she loves all of the pink and all the faeries. Serendippite's pretty well known around the Faerieland Employment Agency.

Now, aside from her time spent in the clouds with the faeries, Serendippitie spends a lot of time baking. She is an expert at cakes and has opened a pâtisserie called Pastry de Résistance where she showcases all of her greatest works. They're more like art than food and if you don't believe, go have a look for yourself.

Right now Serendippitie takes care of Mystikal, her pink Bluna that she received back when she was a faerie Gelert. But she hopes to own a faerie Wibreth sometime soon.

Mighty

Who wouldn't love a face like Mighty's?

Mighty joined the family in October of 2010 and it's been absolutely no struggle to accept him into our family. I'd spent ages looking to trade for an UC Mutant Scorchio and one day, a friend neomailed me and said someone was looking for me on the PC and was offering to let me adopt her UC Mutant Scorchio. I just about lost my mind and contacted the fantastically generous Neopian immediately. Shortly thereafter Mighty arrived and I haven't stopped smiling since.

Mighty has a ton of energy. I don't mean that he's bouncy and energetic in the way that most Blumaroos or Gallions are. If Mighty doesn't have room to run around, he makes room. We've already had to replace a few walls in our Neohome. He doesn't mean to do damage, he just doesn't like to be caged but really, can you blame him?

The part our family's been struggling with in relation to Mighty is his diet. It is, in a word, rank. The smells that come off his food make us all a little queasy, but he won't eat any of Serendippitie's cakes and if he won't eat her cakes, we supposed he won't eat anything else, either (afterall, her cakes are spectacularly delicious). He doesn't have the best table manners I've ever seen, but I guess the best thing about him is that he eats fast enough that the smell doesn't really have time to linger.

One other really interesting thing about Mighty is that other "mutants" seem to be drawn to him. If we're walking through Neopia Central (usually on our way to the Book Shop for Einstein), by the time we've reached our destination, we usually have a few followers, tugging on Mighty's tail, trying to get his attention (well, aside from his petpet Kachi, I mean). Our most common tagalongs are the little guys to the left here. We think their names are Tony & Francis, but it's kind of hard to understand them. They mostly just snuffle and snort.

Spacefloss

the alien

Spacefloss is stellar. She really is. I've never met another Neopian with dreams as big as hers. She doesn't just want to travel to Kreludor and the Space Station, she wants to discover a whole new universe. She's hoping she'll get to name it Flossiopoeia.

As is befitting of any space explorer or Alien Aisha for that matter, Spacefloss's hero is the Space Faerie. She collects anything and everything that could somehow be related to Mira and will one day have a section of my gallery where she can showcase her wares.

Spacefloss is also a huge advocate for Grundo rights. She dislikes Dr. Sloth immensely as she believes he has abused his power by enslaving an entire Neopet species that couldn't stand up for itself. She hopes to one day be able to fight in a war against him and help Neopia (and the Grundos) defeat him once and for all.

The collar that Spacefloss wears is very dear to her. It was a gift our family gave to her when she came to live with us. The S charm on her collar represents her name and she is never without it.

One last thing before you leave. Spacefloss loves glow-in-the-dark stars. So if you have any laying around, she'll be quite happy to take them off your hands.

Spacefloss was zapped with the lab ray for awhile in hopes of a quick turn alien, but it took a Fountain Faerie Quest in February of 2011 to make it happen.

Galapas

the graverobbing tinkerer

I created Galapas when the second wave of Draiks were released many years ago. He began as a red Draik but was painted Christmas soon after because the deep green colour is quite splendid.

Galapas is a bit of a hard nut to crack. He gets himself into a great deal of trouble, sneaking through graveyards at night, looking for... well, it's not a nice thing to talk about. But in short, he has to lie low and sell his wares to some of Neopia's shadier clientele. In the end though, he's extremely sweet and if any of his brothers or sisters want anything, he gets it for them and leaves it by their beds for them to find in the morning.

Galapas is also a bit of an inventor. When he gets home in the early morning, he usually spends a few hours tinkering away in his workshop. He's created a few pretty incredible things (check out Doon, his petpet) and he has a few patents pending, but mostly he ends up with a pile of nuts and bolts by the time he heads to bed.

Galapas' most prized possession is his pocketwatch. He hasn't really explained to anyone why it's so important to him, but it's always close by and he is constantly taking it out of his pocket to look at it. He's taken it apart and put it back together so many times I'm sure he could do it in his sleep.

One night, while flying quietly through the graveyard, Galapas came across a sweet Kacheek who needed a home. That's how Gravehaunts came to join our family. They're pretty much inseparable at this point.

Gravehaunts was found wandering lost in a graveyard by Galapas and was brought home to live with our family. Even though he has a nice comfy bed and a room to himself, he chooses to stick by Galapas' side and spends each evening in the graveyard with him. He also has a nice pile of blankets and clothes in a corner of Galapas workshop where he likes to curl up while his friend tinkers with his inventions.

Gravehaunts hasn't said a word since joining us so we're not too sure where he came from or why he was in the graveyard in the first place, but he's very sweet and caring.
