*~Introduction~*
You find yourself alone in a quiet park, your view obscured by thick banks of fog that float lazily over the damp glossy grass and the rough pavement path upon which you stand. A gentle drizzle is falling, making a soft whispered patter as each tiny drop hits the ground. Through the fog, you can see the twisted forms of beautiful grey cherry trees leaning elegantly over the path.
You breathe in deeply. There is something very peaceful about this place. It is quiet, and comforting, and you are entirely alone. You close your eyes and listen.
Are you lost?
A sweet voice from behind you startles you, and you turn around quickly.
A young Zafara stands a few feet behind you, a pleasant smile on her innocent face. She is dressed in a beautiful purple silk kimono and tilts her head toward you, as if you are a very curious sight. Just as you start to feel a little embarrassed, she giggles quietly, giving her deep purple bangs a shake. When she walks up to you, she makes almost no sound at all.
I can help you find your way back, if you like. she offers kindly, approaching you. You notice a pair of gossamer pastel wings upon her back that flutter a little as she speaks.
No thanks, I'm not lost, you say, smiling. Feeling the need to be polite, you introduce yourself. I'm guest.
The Zafara smiles and dips her torso in a graceful bow. It is an honor to meet you, guest. I am Serendipitous. She giggled, But you may just call me Seren, if you like. She winks.
You smile at her, then look around, admiring the beautiful blossoms that hang upon the brittle branches above your heads.
It is cherry blossom season. you hear the Zafara say, Many people like to come here and see them.
You nod, understanding why. Seren looks down at her feet, scuffing a sandal against the wet pavement as she twirls one of the pink ribbons in her hair. From the shy smile on her face, you can tell she has something she wants to ask you.
Do you...need to be anywhere soon?
You think for a moment, then shake your head. Seren grins brightly, then bows again.
I would be honored if you would stay for a while. It is a lonely day and I have no one to talk to.
You smile. Why not? As you nod, she laughs and throws herself forward in a deeper bow.
Thank you! she cries, before smiling and gently taking your hand in hers. Picking up the hem of her kimono with her free hand, she looks over her shoulder at you.

*~About Seren~*
By looking at Serendipitous, you would never think that her life had been anything but easy. She is blessed with irrepressible optimism and sweetness, and is always able to bounce back from hardship. It is her good will and pleasant nature that have helped her brother through his darkest days. She has a wisdom about her that comes from innocence, not experience. Although she appears flighty on the surface, she often surprises others with her thoughtful remarks.
There is nothing remarkably special about Seren. She is, by all means, an ordinary young girl, growing up eagerly and trying to find her place in the world. She giggles almost too much and fantasizes about romance. She sees beauty everywhere and daydreams when she is supposed to be studying. Because of her culture, she is very proper and dutiful. She tries hard to conform to Shenkuu's strict standards of behavior, but it is impossible for her not to let her exuberance spill over sometimes.
Seren is well liked because of her infectiously jovial nature, but she is also quite shy. It is difficult for her to truly get close to anyone, even though she is incredibly kind to all. She worships her brother as all younger siblings do. He is her rock and her savior, and she is his. Though Seren is much more independent than her brother, she would never stray far from him because she knows how much they both need each other.

*~My History~*
My history is not a very happy one, But I have tried to move on, and appreciate how wonderful my life is now.
I was born in a little folk village in the Japanese Alps called Hida no Sato. I lived there with my very large family (my parents, my grandmother, and five siblings!) in a small house in the village. It was hard living with so many Neopets in one tiny space, but we were lucky, because we all loved each other and got along very well. My father was a farmer, and my siblings and I often helped him in the rice paddies. It was a simple, full, and happy life.
I had one older brother named Cohakuu, whom I adored. He wasn't happy with village life and wanted to see the world to travel and study to become a doctor. Our parents were supportive and urged him to leave and follow his heart. He did, and I missed him terribly, but I was happy for him.
His fiancé—Kanako was her name—moved in with us. She and Haku were planning on getting married when he returned. The house seemed empty without Haku, especially for Kanako and me, but we had work to do, so we continued our work and waited for his return. That was, until the fire...
It started rapidly and unexpectedly, and engulfed the whole house. My family was asleep, and all of them perished. By some miracle, I alone was spared, having decided to sleep out underneath the stars that night. But I saw my gift of life as a curse, as now I was fated to spend the rest of my life alone, without my family.
Haku's return saved my life, I think. He gave me a reason to go on living, as I gave the same to him. I remember every second of the night he came back. He looked so scared, but so brave. He became my hero that night. We depended on each other to get through everything. The villagers, all our friends, were endlessly helpful and helped us to rebuild and start anew, but we never forgot the pain in our hearts.
I have moved on, but I fear my brother still carries a deep wound in his heart. I know he blames himself for the fire, and hard as I try, I can't convince him otherwise…
Now, we live together in the house we built after the fire. Haku travels as a healer, and I stay home in the village. We support each other. He travels to earn money, and I tend to the farm. It's a simple life, and not really the one either of us wanted, but we make due, and we love the village, so we stay.
I don't know what will come next in our lives, but I guess no one is supposed to know that. I worry for my brother. I think he needs more than I can give him, but he would never admit it. For now, I guess, all I can do is go on being myself.

*~Family~*
Seren does not mention her family much because it brings her too much pain. Haku is her only living relative.
However, she has come to embrace the others pets under Ami's care as surrogate family.
Nothing in the world could tear Seren away from her brother,
Cohakuu. Ever since the fire, they have become each others' world. Seren worries about Haku, because he still blames himself for the fire, and has never gotten over the loss of his love, Kanako. Because of this, Seren tries her hardest to be as cheerful and helpful as she can, for her beloved brother's sake.
Seren adores
Rialyn, the cheerful royal seamstress. Ria loves to travel to Shenkuu, saying it is the most beautiful place in all of Neopia, so Seren gets to see a lot of her. The bubbly Acara is much like Seren, and they found a kindred spirit in each other. Ria made Seren's favorite purple kimono for her as a birthday present.
Seren met the mysterious
Losimiura when she went traveling with her brother into the mountains once. Both of them were struck at once by the Draik's incredible purity. Seren, especially, was captivated, and vowed that she one day hoped to be as kind and beautiful as the fragile Draik. Because Miura can communicate by mind, she and Seren are still close, even if they have not seen each other since.
Ria brought
Adantae along on one of her visits to Shenkuu, and Seren was immediately taken with the boy. Though significantly apart in age, the two became great friends, and Seren is convinced that Adan will grow up to be quite the charmer some day.

Seren rarely gets a chance to meet anyone outside of Shenkuu. Though she has friends in the village, she is only close to her brother. Thus, Seren has few whom she can truly call friend.

Miu is probably the most versatile petpet Seren could have ever asked for. A pleasant, down-to-earth creature, Miu often has to prompt Seren back to work when the Zafara starts daydreaming, as she often does. This plucky Angelpus is a great help around the house and, to Haku's relief, also makes sure Seren keeps up with her studies. She was a gift to Seren on the day she was born, and made a wonderful playmate for the Zafara as she aged. Now that both are older, they frolic less, instead preferring each others' company on starry nights.

So you want to role play with Seren, huh? Great! But read this first:
If you really want to role play with her there are a few things to keep in mind. Just because
you know all about her past and such doesn't mean your pet does. Remember, though sweet and bouncy, Seren is also very shy. She wouldn't do well with loud, obnoxious pets.
Seren tries her best to like everyone, but has always had trouble making friends. Her kindness and bubbly nature is irresistable, but she doesn't get the chance to meet others her age very often. She would love to meet some new friends, especially ones who show an interest in her Shenkuu culture.
As far as love goes, Seren is a hopeless romantic. That doesn't mean she'll fall for just anyone, though. Even she has standards! She loves kind-hearted, gentle men. However, she is attracted to outgoing personalities as well. Anyone who was willing to take her hand on a walk under the cherry trees or lie with her at night watching the stars would probably win her heart.
