Meaty Dish!

Some days you just want a bit of protein, and with these recipes, you can get your extra protein in a most delicious way! This issue's meaty dish is brought to you by Julia!

Julia's Homemade Pizza
Ingredients:
*1 Boboli, any kind or similar product (you can also use store bought pizza dough, but I like the Boboli better)
*1 Jar Ragu or similar Alfredo Sauce
*1 pound ground beef (can be eliminated for a vegetarian variety)
*1 large green bell pepper
*1 large onio n
*1 can sliced mushrooms (can use fresh)
Jalapenos (optional)
*1 16 oz bag of mozzarella shredded cheese
*1 16 oz bag of mexican style shredded cheese

Directions:
1. Brown ground beef thoroughly (skip to next step if making veggie variety). Drain grease.
2. Put back on heat and add sliced onion and cook until opaque.
3. Put Boboli on oven safe cookie sheet. Spread Boboli with Alfredo sauce, covering entire surface. Place cooked beef/onion mixture on Boboli. Add sliced green pepper and mushrooms. Top with entire bag of Mozzarella and entire bag of Mexican Cheese. Top with jalapenos if desired.
4.Bake in 350 degree oven until cheese is melted and browned.

Enjoy!

Veggie Dish!

Craving a lighter dish? Don't eat meat? Get your vitamins and health on with these scrumptious platters! This issue's veggie recipe is brought to you by Jessica!

Jessica's Glazed Carrots
Ingredients
*4 medium carrots
*2 tablespoons butter
*2 tablespoons sugar
*1 1/2 teaspoons fresh thyme, minced

Directions
1. Clean carrots and cut into desired size and shape.
2. Cook in boiling salted water until tender and drain well.
3. In empty pan you just used melt the butter and sugar cooking until the sugar has begun to dissolve. Add thyme and stir to mix.
4 Add carrots, stirring gently to coat and cook until glazed.
*Usually when it comes to how many carrots, I use more than 4 medium carrots.

Yum! Carrots!

Mmmm...dessert!

After all of that delicious food, who can resist a sweet dessert? Our desserts range everywhere throughout the spectrum of dessert-dom, and many are unique to our guild members and their families! This issue's desert is brought to us by Amy-jean!

Amy-Jean's Vegan Raspberry Chocolate Cookies
Ingredients:
*1 Cup Vegan Margarine (try Earth Balance)
*1/4 Cup Sugar
*2 Cups Flour
*1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
*1/2 tsp. baking soda
*raspberry jam
*2/3 package unsweetened chocolate chips
*nuts of your choice, chopped

Directions
1. Preheat oven to 375ยบ F
2. In one (larger) bowl, cream vegan margarine. Add sugar and beat until fluffy.
3. In a separate bowl, combine flour, cream of tartar and baking soda.
4. Add dry ingredients to margarine mixture and mix until well combined.
5. Roll out dough to 1/2-1/4 inch thickness and cut out circles. Place circles on ungreased cookie sheets, putting an even number on each sheet.
6. Bake for 5 minutes.
7. Spread jam onto half the cookies, then place the still-bare cookies on top of the jammed ones, to form sandwiches. 8. Bake for another 7 minutes.
9. Let cool on a wire rack.
10. Melt the chocolate chips. The best way to do this is to place a glass bowl inside a saucepan of boiling water, putting the chips in the bowl.
11. Dip the sandwiches half-way into the chocolate and place on parchment paper.
12. Sprinkle nuts on the chocolate-half. Enjoy! :D

Happy cooking!
