The Return of Dr, Sloth Plot: Dissolving Test: Create acid solutions |

After I fell head over heals into the plot of the return of Dr. Sloth I decided to give a little bit back.
here are some hints to solve the task "Dissolving test" in the Token Testing Facility. The task is to dissolve some samples of metal given to you in order to produce "a usable quantity of acid". You will take the length, radius and density of the sample, do some calculations (or just take wild guesses - which doesn't promise a good success) and submerge it into the oxygenating bio-solvent. The trick is to find a suitable time! |

First convert length and radius to cm, just divide by 10! Take radius (cm!) and length (cm!) and calculate the volume of the cylinder: volume (cm^3) = radius (cm) * radius (cm) * Pi * length (cm) (Pi is a constant in mathematics, I think everybody knows that. You can take either 3.1415 for Pi or if your calculator has a built in function use that, I have compared both possibilities and the results didn't differ) |

Once you have found the volume you can calculate the mass of the cylinder, the formula is easy: mass = volume * density (The density is constant for everyone: dariganium=3.9 faerillium=2.8 kadoatite=4.6 meridellium=1.2 neopium=0.9 slothite=3.0 tikium=4.9 tyrannium=5.1 xweetite=2.5 zafarium=1.8 |

Now you have the mass of the cylinder, which seems to be important. Look up the metal in the charts below and fill the mass in gramms in to the formula. Example: you found out, that a neopium cylinder has a mass of 36600 gr: y (the time) = 0,00236 * 36600 +0,75481 and should be 87 seconds (this example was one of the successful dissolving tests) |
