Our history:

The Lazy NT Writers Guild was created by five well, lazy NT (Neopian Times) writers, late one Saturday night. All of us were either flustered with getting lost in huge guilds, or we just hadn't found anywhere we felt comfortable with in quite a while. That's when LNWG was created. Physically, I (chocolateisamust) am the one who created the guild, but all of the founders have sharing, important roles.

Our purpose:

LNWG is a guild for any writer, reader, or artist who is overwhelmed by larger, crazy guilds. We try to keep a cosy, home-like atmosphere, and we want to be the type of guild where you log on each day and find the same, familiar faces. I've personally been in dozens of guilds, but I'd never found one I fit into - they were either too inactive or so busy that I'd leave for three hours and come back to twenty new pages and ten new members. LNWG is a happy medium.

Who can join:

LNWG is not the right guild for everyone. It mainly hosts Neopian artists and writers, so if you tlk lyk diz and have no interest in the arts, I wouldn't recommend it to you. However, if you're creative, literate, and/or like the Neopian Times, this may be the place for you! If you want to check it out, contact one of the following people for an invite: chocolateisamust, sytra, imogenweasley, edddib, or brymax406. Occasionally, we may close off membership for a short period of time for a smattering of reasons. If this is the case, wait a bit and ask for an invite later. I want to join your guild but it says I'm not a member!

That's because LNWG is private. Neomail chocolateisamust, sytra, imogenweasley, edddib, or brymax406 for an invitation. Make sure you don't have guild invitations blocked!

What kind of activities do you have?

We have a handful of writing and drawing activities that change each week. We also have a couple daily things (like an obscure 'word of the day'). However, in the future, we plan to have many more activities. By joining now, you can help influence how we grow and shape what events/activities we'll have later on!

Do you have newbie packs?

Not at the moment, no. It's a faint possibility in the future.

Do I have to be published in the NT to join?

Nope! A lot of us in the guild are published in the NT, but it's definitely not a requirement. As long as you like writing and/or art, you'll fit in fine.

Why should I join your guild when there's so many others out there?

I can't tell you that. It's your decision. LNWG is simply a cosy, homey guild for artsy people who don't want to be overwhelmed by a dozen new members each time they log onto Neopets. It's a fun place to chat, and also a fun place to meet new people.

Why is your guild private?

If you want the short answer: because when I asked the rest of the founders if they thought it should be private or public, they said private. If you want the long answer, well... privatising the guild was one way to make sure we wouldn't get too large and crazy. By making it private, we can control how many people join. I know this may seem odd, but remember, a major reason for creating LNWG was to escape the huge, frenzied guilds. Therefore, we wanted membership controlled... and we won't log on one day to find 100 illiterate members spamming the board with inane drabble. Also, we want to keep LNWG a certain way - a haven for writers, artists, and readers who can talk intelligently without being spammed or flamed. That's not to say we don't have fun - we do! A lot of our talk is pretty random, hyper, or stupid. I guess, without rambling even more, LNWG is private because that just felt right. It helps us keep a good membership level, makes it so random trolls can't join and flame us, and allows us to have lots of fun without worrying about sketchy folks watching.
