Tonight's Show!
The restaurant goes dark and all the chatter slowly dies down. A voice booms into a microphone. "Welcome ladies and gentlemen! I hope you are enjoying your stay at The Towers!" Your attention turns to the host, standing on stage. "I'd now like to present, tonight's feature act! We have with us, tonight, two aspiring performers, Sarenii and Nautikah! Enjoy." The host walks off the stage and the lights dim. Seconds later, music is blasting through speakers and two young girls walk onto the stage. The lights brighten a bit. One young girl, to the left is singing, and the other girl, is doing a dance routine. You admire both the girls, who look to be only fifteen or sixteen. They have potential, you think to yourself, and you wonder who they are…[Top]

Sarenii's Diary
Sarenii: Nothing ever happens in Littleton. In fact, the town is pretty true to its name. Small and ordinary. Not the type of town you'd expect a star to be born in. But before you hear the rumors and read the tabloids, let me tell you the story. The whole story. Exactly how it happened. From the very beginning.Chapter One.
The first day, which wasn't really the first day, but seems like a good place to start, was perfectly normal. No explosions, no surprises, no nothing. It was just an ordinary day in Littleton. I went to school like usual and everything was fine. I had salad for lunch, like usual, and had rehearsal after school. My story begins at rehearsal, even though at the time I didn't know it, or for that matter, even think that stardom was an option for me. You see, I was just an ordinary girl trying to live her life unnoticed. I wasn't stunningly beautiful, or popular, or anything like that. Well I was rich, but it didn't phase me. I wasn't spoiled (thanks Dad!) and it didn't really affect my life in any way. I was just a 15 year old girl who had a passion. My passion was for theatre. So how I love the Stage. Anyways, as I said before, my story began at rehearsal. Littleton High School put on two productions each year, a play and a musical. It was early on in the school year, and we were working on our winter musical. At the end of the rehearsal, Mr. J (the drama teacher) asked if he could speak to me. Of course I stayed, being a student, and these were his exact words: "Juliet, (he called me Juliet, for what reason is still a mystery to me) you got talent. And I ain't just saying that. I think it would be in your best interest if you seriously consider taking up theatre professionally." I was absolutely appalled, but now that I look back at it, I see no reason to have been appalled. I had been receiving excellent training in musical theatre since I was young, which had made me a far better actress, singer, and dancer than anyone in Littleton High School. Ok, maybe I wasn't that great. But I was surprised because Mr. J had been a casting director for some famous company. That was before he was found to be involved in a scandal, was fired, and was forced to teach at a small town high school, as he calls it.
For the rest of the day I pondered what he said. "You got talent." I talked to my parents, well my dad, because my mom was out partying or shopping or something like that. He told me that, "over the years, I had shown extreme dedication to the arts, and he would be glad to assist me in my way to professionalism." My dad was good like that. He was the one with all the money in my family, but he was smart, conservative, and didn't let it go to his head. Thank gosh too, because if he hadn't been a saver, we might be broke, because Mom was a spender. He told me about my aunt Viv. Apparently, I had an aunt who lived in New York City. My dad told me he'd see to it that he'd talk to my aunt Viv and see if I could stay with her for a little while. I said my thanks and was off to bed, thinking nothing of it. Well the next day, which was a Saturday, I awoke to find a stranger downstairs. This woman had curly orange hair, which was styled in an afro. I'd like to say that this was the strangest thing about her, but I'd be lying. Her make-up was comparable to a clown's. Her fire-engine red lipstick, which was over applied, clashed with her green eye shadow and pink blush. This stranger was fairly skinny, but had a few too many surgeries to make her appear younger. She looked to be about thirty years old, but she dressed like a teenager who went to a costume store, and bought everything because she couldn't decide what she wanted. Yes it was that bad. Her leather "tights" (I use this phrase because I don't know how else to describe them), which looked as if they were ten years old, were only partially covered by the purple tutu she wore over them. Her orange striped turtle neck, was layered under a green and pink flowered tank top, made for grannies. When I walked into the room, sleepy and unprepared, I almost screamed. She just stood their, her arms outstretched, and said, "Why lookit you, darlin, come give Viv a big ol' bear hug!" I was not in the mood for hugs, which I really gave or received anyways. My dad stood their with a forced smile on his face and said, "Honey, meet my sister, your aunt Viv." "Cousin Viv, sweetums, aunt just sounds so old." Viv's voice was high pitched, squeaky, and annoying. Viv had given up on her hug. "Dearie, why don't you go pack, we have a long drive ahead of us, we can get breakfast to go." I turned around and headed back to my room, horrified. "What in the world have I gotten myself into?" I thought. After I shoved everything I owned in two suitcases, Dad helped me carry them out to Viv's car. "Is that all she has?" Viv asked my dad. "What? Have you been depriving her of the necessities, Sher? Well, you always were the saver." My dad lead us back in the house, but not before Viv had told me how much 'better' I'd be off living with her. After a few more minutes of chatting, I said good bye to my dad. He didn't want to wake up Mom, so I just wrote her a note. Before long, we were headed off for New York City. Viv and I were in the back of her limo, chatting it up. Well Viv was chatting, I was listening.
A few hours later, we pulled up in Times Square. I was amazed. This has to be one of the best moments of my life. Stepping out of the limo, onto the heart of New York City. The lights, the sights, the sounds, the smells. Everything was pumped up to about 200% more than in Littleton. I was wowed in taking it all in. Once I recovered I went to grab my stuff from the limo. Viv stopped me and said, "Let the bellhop get it. You don't worry about a thing. You're a princess, honey. Just take in the moment." A princess. Whoa. How is this possible? I was just in nowhere-ville Littleton, and now I'm living the dream? My mind raced with thoughts, thoughts of the present and the future. We entered the hotel, in dead center Times Square. Everything was so fancy and expensive. The lobby looked like the entrance room to a castle. Diamonds and jewels were sparkling. I followed Viv into the luxurious elevator. "Penthouse, Jack," she said without a moment's hesitation. I sort of liked Viv. Even though she was kind of crazy, eccentric, as she put it, people liked and respected her. She knew it too. If I was a princess, she was the Queen of queens. She glimmered with confidence, but she wasn't stuck up. I want to be like Viv, without the eccentricity. We walked into the Penthouse/Royalty Suite. Off to the side, a young girl who looked to be about my age was getting a spa treatment. At the moment she was getting a mani/pedi/facial. "Oh, hello Viv," her words were clear and confident. Much like Viv. "Cookie, come meet your cousin," Viv said to the girl. "Um…Viv, I'm sort of in the middle of something?" she said annoyed. So, now I had a cousin too. I'm surprised that Viv forgot to mention this. I wondered how much of my family my dad was hiding from me, were there more. I decided it would be best to wait for her to be finished, and more presentable. Right now she was in a fluffy, pink robe, with a white, plush towel on her head. Viv told me I could explore the hotel myself, but she showed me my room first. It was amazing, tripe the size of my old room, and far more glamorous. It was purple, because that was my favorite color (Dad must have mentioned it.) A king sized bed was in the corner, with those princess-like drape nets over the bed. There was a hot tub directly opposite to the bed, on the other side of the room. The gleaming, maple wood floors, were covered by a large, furry, carpet. Purple of course. A diamond (or at least what looked like diamond) chandelier hung in the center of the room. There was a walk-in closet the size of my old bedroom. And lots of other things, which I simply cannot describe. My cousins room was right next to mine, but I didn't go into it or anything. I packed away my stuff, which seemed so minimal now.
I walked around the suite looking for Viv, but she was nowhere to be found. As I walked into the TV room (high-def, big screen TV) a voice spoke from behind me. "Looking for Viv? She's probably out shopping or playing Bingo," I jumped startled, and turned around. My cousin stood there, now in a designer pink-sequined sundress. She had small white gloves on, and white stiletto sandals. Designers I assumed. And she carried a metallic clutch. "Why do you look so surprised?" she questioned, nastily. Well it wasn't nastily, but she was obviously trying to scope me out. I stood there, in my favorite purple tee, which had been worn to death. And old jeans. I slowly stumbled, "Oh..um…no one told me I had a cousin. Or an aunt for that matter…and um…well my name is Sareniiy…" I was rambling. I looked down at my worn sneakers. "I know that. Unfortunately, I was told I had a cousin. And that she was coming to visit. So how long are you here for?" she snapped. I didn't really know how long I was staying. "I'm not sure…" I said shaking. "Gosh, why are you so darn scared? I won't bite, I promise. We obviously are going to have to work on you, if you ever wanna make it big that is. Oh, by the way I'm Nautikah." she said, a little kinder. Work on me? Make it big? Nautikah? I took it all in. "I think I've heard of you before…Nautikah…it sounds so familiar." Nautikah shook her head and told me to sit down. "Of course you've heard of me. I'm half way to Broadway, Sarenii. And you will be too. Of course you won't be half as good as me, but from what I've been told, you aren't an amateur. I hope you don't prove me wrong. I've been told to teach you the ropes of show biz though. And I intend to get started right away." Nautikah grinned cunningly. I wasn't sure if I could trust her yet, so I just nodded.
End of Chapter One.

The Towers
The Towers is a hotel in the heart of New York City. It is owned by Mr. Goldsmith, who is an elderly man. He is kind enough to let the girls live in a small storage room in the back of the hotel, if they work at the hotel. He also pays them, so they have a little pocket money. Reni and Kah both work as waitresses in the hotel restaurant, as well as doing some cleaning and odd job around the hotel. They get paid extra when they perform at the hotel. You can visit The Towers here to get an idea of how it looks. It's a little crammed and hectic, because it always has guests going in and out. Many are famous and important, others are tourists, more are trying to make it big, and some are just like Reni and Kah. Anyways, just stop by if you ever want to see a performance, or spend the night.[Top]
Family and Friends
This is my cousin and best friend Kah. She, like me is into performing. My dad sent me to live with her at The Towers, even though at the time I had no idea who she was. Surprisingly she turned out to be awesome! Now we perform together! She supports me in everything I do. [Top]

Q&A
I gave my fellow internetters a chance to ask any questions they wanted, to Reni or Kah. Here are the results. To both: Do you like the rain? Why or why not?
Sarenii: The Rain is calming. It is peaceful and refreshing. I guess it might be because I was born and raised as a small town girl, so I appreciate the little things and like to take it easy. Watching the rain is so lovely. The pitter-patter on my window sill and the water streaming down the pane. Everything is just so taken aback and slowed down.
Nautikah: I hate, hate, hate, hate rain. It gets me wet, for one. It makes me late to important auditions and such. Everything is all muddy, and then makes the lobby of the hotel all gross, and then we have to clean it! Rain is just horrible. :( Yuckyuckyuck.
