Here we Go!

I was not in any way forced to make this application

Hello, my name is Fuzzy and this is my application for Polymaths. Seeing as I've worked so hard, even making a personalized petpage, I think that I should begin with an explanation why. I am a writer, and an aspiring artist *pokes art section* and I need inspiration to do either task, as many people do. For a long time now, I have been hoping to find a Faerie Draik up for adoption because of the stage that I have approached in my current story involving my Neopets, part of which can be found on Trevorien's and Imsea's petpages (links are later). Finding out that Polymaths was up for adoption inspired me to do all of this because she is just what I have been looking for. I've very careful when I look for pets to add to my family, which is most likely why I only have 2 Neopets on my main and 2 permanent pets on my side. I think that after a long time searching that Polymaths is the perfect fit.

If I am lucky enough to be the new owner of Polymaths she will not be neglected. Obviously she will be fed and cared for as my other pets are. She will not be a trophy pet. She already has a personality in my mind. She will, in my Neo-family, gifted and fantasy roleplays, be a shy and intelligent girl always ready to step in to help her family and friends but always secretive. In my story she'll be a soft spoken psychic, always calm because she has to be, who will fit perfectly into the plot I have planned for all my Neopets. An "angel" from Altador, she'll be very smart and intuitive as well as a cheerful addition to the quest. I also plan hope to improve my artistry enough to enter her into the beauty contest.

Well, enough of the basics let's get on with the good stuff, hmm?

Into Hiding, Preparing for Destiny

I don't understand." The young Draik said wrapping the thin cloak tighter around herself to block out the cold wind.

It was a dark day in Altador, darker than any day she had previously seen or imagined. She glanced at her mother and saw lightning flash across her mind's eye. Could the sky be that violent? Apparently it could, her mother must've seen it at some point before and was therein expecting it to be so now.

That's a first, " said the larger blue Draik leading the other two through the woods, his voice gruff with annoyance.

The older Draik reached out and smacked him, "Let your sister be Phin. Just because she's psychic it doesn't mean she knows everything. I've told you that, " she turned to her daughter, "Polymaths, something is happening and we need to hide you."

Polymaths tried to stay calm, bad things happened when she lost control, "But you said Alatador needs my gift, mama. That they hadn't had a Faerie Psychic in a very long time, you said that I was special."

Thick headed fae-"

Phin!" Their mother shouted with exasperation, "The people who need you will be able to find you, little one, but you can no longer live in the city, it isn't safe anymore."

Lightning streaked across the sky partly blocked by the think canopy of trees above them. Yet, Polymaths's heart still sped up, beating hard against her ribs. She slipped inside herself forcing the beats into a slow and steady rhythm.

Here we are." Phin murmured as they approached a large tree. Its branches spread wide around a trunk at least 3 body lengths thick and as tall as the Hall of Heroes at the city center. Phin approached it knocking on its bark with his tail. 5 beats rang out, 2 slow and 3 quick, something Polymaths could see in her brother's mind was a very important rhythm. Slowly part of the tree trunk swung inward revealing a large room with stairs.

Polymaths's mother turned to her grasping her shoulders gently, "This is your new home, my love." Her voice sounded so final.

What of my old home?" She asked her mother, crying as lightning shot through the clouds once more. "What of my family?"

Phin came up and hugged her tightly being careful not to crush her wings, "Little sister, we must go also, mother is not without her own powers and she is not able to live on her own, you are strong enough to be by yourself."

Polymaths couldn't believe this was truly happening; she spun towards her mother to find tears falling slowly from the older Draik's eyes.

I'm sorry Poly; I wish you could come with us but you must stay here. You are destined for something great."

Destiny, she'd heard the word over and over since the day she was born but it wasn't until now that she despised it.

Her mother reached out and pulled her daughter close, "Be careful my darling. Always remember us."

Polymaths held back tears, she couldn't lose control, she just couldn't. Lightning struck a nearby tree.

Phin gripped his mother's arm, "We must go."

A cold feeling filled Polymaths as she watched her family walk away, "Goodbye."

Phin gave her a half-hearted smile, "Don't forget to keep up with your reading and writing, your books are all ready inside."

As they disappeared into the darkness Polymaths turned to go into the tree-house. Her new home, her new empty home.

Destiny, " she huffed, the word bitter on her tongue, as she slipped through the doorway and the door slid shut.
