Hello there, and welcome to the Doodlez webbie! We are an Art Guild that is dedicated to art, friendship, and improvement. We have weekly challenges, art exchanges and art trades, pet chats, etc. You can also just sit back and chat with the other members, or even find somebody to roleplay with.

We also allow people of any skill level, genre, age, or medium to join! And you don't have to draw neopets, either. :3 This is not one of those elite art guilds where you get turned away, it's a safe place for everybody to get along without being looked down upon because of their skills or style. Everybody has to start some where, after all!
..And what better place to start than here?

Doodlez was created November 30th, in 2007 by two best friends, in an attempt to find people who share a common interest: art. It had an overhaul mid 2011. Their mascot is a baby kougra named Sagehira.

1. Basically follow Neopet's rules. Need to refresh yourself on what they are? You can read them here: http://www.neopets.com/terms.phtml and http://www.neopets.com/chatrules.phtml.
Otherwise, just be respectful of other's feelings and try to think about how you would like to be treated~

2. Do not criticize somebody's art unless they ask for it, and if they do, keep it constructive! :3 It's a good idea to start on a positive note, point out what's wrong (in a polite way!), add a suggestion on how to fix it, and then another positive note. That way, people are more willing to accept it, and will know how to fix it and improve, but also know that it's WORTH improving!
Note: If you absolutely can't find something wrong, then you can point out what they did right! Simply saying "That looks cute." helps just as much as saying "The face looks funny." :(

3. This should go without saying, but: art theft is NOT allowed here. Using somebody's art without permission (but still with credit, or without claiming you did it), outright copying/tracing, and everything else is included. You wouldn't want your hard work stolen, would you?

4. You do not need to type with proper grammar and/or spelling, but it is highly preferred if you do. It's not that we're stuck up about it or anything, it's simply so we can understand each other. :3

5. Do not discuss downloading things such as programs (art related or otherwise), TV/anime episodes, movies, music, manga, or anything else illegally, or help other people commit these crimes! Illegal activities such as these are frowned upon in this guild, in the sense that all of those were created by artists of some sort. If they want to go the illegal way, they must do so by themselves and not be encouraged.
Breaking this rule will mean an automatic ban from the guild.

6. You should post (valid, not spam) atleast 4 times a month within your first two months of joining, nobody will bite, and afterwards you only need to post once every month after you reach that amount (just so I know you're still interested in the guild).
If you don't reach the amount, you will be deleted. However, you are allowed to join/try again as many times as you like, but the same rules will always apply.
Just so you know, if you want to join, but your schedule won't allow, feel free to contact me and we can work something out. I'm willing to be flexible for the rules if you need. Just.. 0 posts for a whole year is a bit much. :/
Also, you can give me a heads up if you know you're going on vacation/won't have internet, and I won't delete you for inactivity.

7. To avoid any confusion, you are not allowed to have more than one account in the guild. This is so we can realistically judge how many people are actually in the guild. If you think you need an exception, neomail me first.

Council The highest rank in the guild, used for creators, leaders, and other people who help in major ways around the guild. You have to apply for it. It's preferred that you have a decent post count and post more than once a month.

Sub Council - Usually used for retired Council or for when the council overflows, this is also for people who regularly help out with the guild. You have to apply for it. It's preferred that you have a decent post count and post more than once a month.

Super Artist - Posting 300 or more posts on the message board

Awesome Artist - Posting 100 or more posts on the message board. Awesome artists and above have the ability to send out neomail to all guild members and set up challenges.

Artist - Posting 50 or more posts on the message board

New Artist - Default; Starting point for everyone.

If you wish to apply for a spot on Council or Sub Council, please neomail me instead of applying through the guild. Thank you! :3

Currently, only Awesome Artists have the ability to set up challenges. Here's some quick rules:

1. Always double check with me and let me know what you have planned before setting it up. This way, I can advertise it for you, link to it on some pages, help you out, judge, etc.

2. Make sure none of it breaks Neopet's rules (for example, we can't use pets, items, or anything else for prizes. But as far as I know, graphics are allowed). Breaking a rule might not only get you in trouble, but it could get the whole guild in trouble, too! D:

3. Not really a rule, but it would be a good idea to be careful how you phrase things. There are certain words that you will automatically get in trouble with Neopets for saying, even if you're following rules otherwise. D:

4. Please be serious when hosting something, and let me know ahead of time if you find you cannot finish the event you started. This way, I can find somebody else to host it before you have to stop.
If you don't finish it and leave no warning, you will not be able to host an event or challenge again.

If you're interested in hosting a petpage for the guild, just neomail me so we can talk it over. I also appreciate suggestions, even if you don't want to host it! :D
