Meet Saerhyn

A slim young uni walks up to you. His fur is light brown with large, irregular white markings that cover his sides, and white socks on all four legs. His back end is covered in small very dark brown spots, a few scatterings of these spots continue along his sides, and a few more towards his neck. His mane and tail are dark brown, he two broad white streaks in his mane, and the end of his tail is white. The front feathers of his wings are the same light brown as his body, with darker tips. The long flight feathers are brown striped with white. He has a white blaze on his face, which is wider on his right side, covering his eye. His right eye is blue, his left eye is brown.

He has a wide grin on his face, and his two tone eyes sparkle at you. His forelock falls across his face, and he tosses his head to get it out of his way. "Heya!" he says, pricking his ears forward. "Who are you? guest? Cool! My name is Saerhyn. That's pronounced say -rin. It's elven, it means 'music of the forest' or something weird like that." He shrugs, causing his forelock to fall back across his eyes. He gives his head another impatient toss. "So anyway, nice to meet you, guest!"

So.. You want to know a little bit about me? Well okay. For a start, I am not like those prissy, girly unis you see everywhere, always painting their hooves and giggling." Saerhyn rolls his eyes. "They get on my nerves. Most girls do actually, except my sister, Lyre. She's pretty cool, although see can be moody and weird sometimes. Oh and my owner, Meer! I mustn't forget her!" He grins sheepishly "She's a cool girl too. She's into music and video games like me."

Oh didn't I tell you I love video games?" Saerhyn starts to prance around you excitedly. He's so full of energy and extroverted you can hardly get a word in talking to him. But he has such a charismatic personality you can't help but like him. "Yeah, I play video games all the time." he continues. "I guess you wonder how you play video games with hooves? Well I tell you, it takes some mad skills." He tilts his head and offers you a wiry smile. Apparently his prowess with a console is his only vanity. "I can beat my sister at any game, and she has paws. Ya know, so it's easier for her to press the buttons, but I still win."

I'm really into music too. Rock mostly, but I like all kinds of music. I listen to music almost all the time, every day. I love to go to concerts. I've been to several so far, and my goal is to see every cool band in Neopia at least once. I wish I could be in a band myself, but I don't think I have any real musical talent. I can't sing or play any instrument." Saerhyn shrugs. "But maybe someday I could be a roadie or something. I'd get to travel around with a band, and I like working with electronics and stuff like that." Saerhyn grins. "Is that a silly dream? Well I don't care. It sounds kinda cool to me."

Saerhyn notices you looking at his eyes. "Oh, you think it's weird that I have two different colored eyes? Yeah, my sister thinks it's weird too." Saerhyn just shrugs and tilts his head, causing his forelock to fall across his face again. "It's really not a big deal to me, but people seem to be interested in it. It's not that unusual with my markings. It's all about pigment you see. I'm a pintaloosa. That means I have the markings of an appaloosa and a pinto. Neat huh? Well since I have white markings on my face, it also effected my right eye. Because white markings and blue eyes are just a lack of pigment, get it?"

It's not that common in humans, but do you know one human who has two colored eyes like me? David Bowie, he's a really famous musician. My owner thinks he is really awesome, and I like his music too. I think it's really cool that I have eyes like his, but I wish I could play music like him!"

So what else do you want to talk about? Oh! I want you to meet my petpet, you'll like him, he's really awesome!"

Antubis

This here is Antubis, the most awesome petpet in the world! He's not like your average, plain old Antwerph. Although don't get me wrong, Antwerphs in general are pretty cool, because they're like anteaters. What animal could be better than anteaters? Why are anteaters (and thus Antwerphs) so cool you ask? Because they are so different! They just, roll whatever way they want, ya know? There's nothing else quite like them.

Anyway I was telling you how Antubis is different than any other Antwerph. He's got that same awesome reddish shade of fur like most Antwerphs, but his underside is a light creamy off white color. And he's got really rockin markings on his front and sides, and on his front legs. They are the same kind of markings that giant anteaters have.

Antubis came to me the day I went to my first concert, Sticks N Stones. It was a very special day. Meer bought me a petpet and a ticket to the concert and said go have fun. And we did! Antubis loves music just like me, although he likes to just chill out, relax, and let the music flow over him. I like to get up and move around, and sing along with my favorite songs. Music really energizes me.

But oh yeah I was telling you about Antubis, not me. Hahah. Antubis and I are always together, and I take really good care of him. In fact, when Antwerphs won the Petpet Protection League Award, I got a forth place medal! That may not sound that impressive, but neither of us are very old, so we haven't been around long enough for a higher award. But still, no one else in my family has one a PPL award, I am the first! How cool is that?

I like to collect stuff. My sister is the big collector though, she collects all kinds of things, it's crazy. But I just like a few things. Concert Log

Here I'm gonna keep a record of all the concerts I go to, what I thought of them, and the souvenirs I get from them. I think it'll be a cool way to remember all the awesome bands I've seen.

	Sticks N Stones Date: 9/17/06 Merch: Sticks N Stones Cap My first concert. Wow it was so awesome! SNS really rocked! I was so excited I couldn't believe I was there. I also got my petpet, Antubis, right before the concert. It was the best day of my life, so far. ;)
	Jub Zambra and the Cobrall Charmers Date: 10/5/06 Merch: Jub Zambra and the Cobrall Charmers Poster Wow, this was really different. Not normally the kind of music I listen to, but very good all the same! I loved the laid back atmosphere. And the Aisha in the band is really pretty! I got a cool poster that I keep on my wall.
	Moehawk Date: 10/31/06 Merch: Moehawk T-shirt Moehawk was really rockin, and LOUD! I thought it was great! Everybody in the audience was screamin and head bangin, including me! The atmosphere was really charged and exciting. I had a great time.
	Jazzmosis Date: 10/20/07 Merch: Jazzmosis Hat Well jazz isn't normally my thing. But I'm open to trying new things, and Meer wanted an avatar from this concert, so I thought I'd give it a go. And it wasn't bad! The atmosphere was a little more relaxed and subdued than I'm used to, but it was still fun. And the music was pretty good. I think my petpet Antubis liked it even more than me.
	Yes Boy Ice-Cream Date: 1/26/08 Merch: Yes Boy Ice-Cream Poster Yeah I most went to this consert becuase Meer wanted the av. Because these guys are just really weird.

Family

	Meer - My owner. She's pretty cool, for a girl. She likes video games and music, and she's not girly at all, so she's all right. Obviously she's not actually a feather. That's just the image she chose to represent herself, I guess cuz she likes feathers?
	Lyre - My sister. Lyre is older than me, a girl, and really weird and moody sometimes. But for all that, she's still really cool. She's rude and nasty to most people, but she's really nice to me, well most of the time anyway. She lets me hang out with her and stuff, so that makes me feel special. It's nice to have a cool big sister, even though I'm not the youngest anymore.
	Rider - The dude that lives in the pool. Right, Rider isn't really my brother, he's just sort of. . . there. He's really weird and he doesn't talk much. He showed up in the deep pool in the river near our place, and just stayed there. I dunno what's up with him and he doesn't seem very friendly. So whatever, I just leave him alone most of the time.
	Cobalt - My brother. Bah, Cobalt's not much fun. He's younger than be, but he's way too serious about stuff. Like this whole wizard obsession of his. He rarely wants to just hang out and have fun. He spends most of his time studying magic and trying to make potions and stuff. Even when he's away from school! Which is not often. He lives at school all week, and stays most weekends too.
	Reihakai - My brother. Rei is a pretty cool guy. But he takes everything to seriously. He's always training and going on about the importance of discipline. I mean this guy is seriously dedicated. He's the youngest in the family but sometimes he acts like the oldest. One of these days I'm gonna take him to a concert and teach him how to just chill out.
	Antubis - My petpet. I got him the same day I went to my first first concert. Antubis is a cool dude. He's really laid back and relaxed, he likes to just chill. Nothing seems to bother him, even when Claudio, Lyre's petpet, pounces on his tail. Antubis likes to sit in my lap while I play video games. Although sometimes he gets playful and tries to push buttons with his tongue.

Well it's because Neopets itself is a game, and these are screencaps of that game, and I love games. So... Wait, that means I am a gamer living in a game that.... uh now I'm confused.

An incredible string of good luck led to this screencap. Meer managed to grab a wearable at the Secondhand Shoppe that had just been released. Since it was new it's price was higher than it eventually would be. She knew this so she put it on the TP right away. She got an offer of a Nerkmid worth about 100K. She used it and instead of some worthless food she got a petpet PB and sold it for a nice bit of NP.

Oh not another one. An obsession like this can not be healthy.

Then I was finally a uni again, although I was green, where I was originally blue. I only let Meer do all this crazy stuff because she promised that afterwards she would paint me spotted, like I'd always wanted.

Meer was so excited when she got on a scoreboard for the first time. And it was her first game trophy too! She thinks she's pretty good at Carnival of Terror, but I'm pretty good at it too.

Um, yeah. Meer thought it was quite amusing her score translated to exactly 666 neopoints. Especially considering what song was playing. You can just see it at the bottom of the pic. "It's the End of the World as We Know It" by REM. So she went a little nuts playing with the image.
