Further into a species: The Masyno

Males are much more bland, usually only having a blue or green body base with a few (if any) markings. The girls of the Masyno species are generally far less vain then one would expect: they're mostly a humble race, but of course there are some exceptions. One thing that is almost universal, however, is the fact that females are more aggressive than the males! This could be due to the fact that if a Masyno produces and offspring, she will most likely perish, leaving the egg to be raised only by the father.

Masyno eggs are a marvellous sight to see. They can be absolutely any color, because the shell changes with the mood of the baby inside. Red is not just an anger color for example: it can represent love, deep thought, sleepiness, and many other emotions an unborn draik can have. Blue is also not always a placid color: several baby dragon species use a tone of blue to represent hate, fear, or nervousness. Therefore, the surface of the is constantly changing.

The inside, however? A different story entirely. Just beneath the fragile exterior of the shell lies a thick layer of the purest titanium ever known to Neopian kind. This protects the little Masyno from any dull-minded egg predator while it's body forms.

Once the baby is fully grown inside the egg, it will absorb that layer and their bodies will use it to cover their bones. No one is really sure how this happens, because it seems completely impossible; but miraculously, it does.

A lot of things can go wrong during this process, however. If the baby absorbs it's metallic shield before it's old enough to handle the molecules, it can end up poisoning itself from the metal, causing the infant to slowly and painfully deteriorate. If the baby absorbs the metal too late, it can be improperly distributed, making a "lopsided" appearance: that is, some of the bones are larger in shape than others, because some have metal and some don't. Because of all these odds against Masynos, it's easy to see how they are so rare. Yet a few survive, like Rylov, in solitude. Perhaps there will one day be unity in their population, and the Masyno race will be seen again in Neopia....

Further into a species: Mytherians

Mytherians (Order: Mithisani) are daintily built with fragile skeletons and soft skin. The only physical protection they possess are slightly hardened scales (called "skits") and long, curving horns. The horns are only used in defense, and never for offense. As you can see below, even their design is meant for peace!
However, all Mytherians have some sort of ability that can aid them in a crisis situation.

A Mytherian draik is classed in three ways: by it's environment, abilities, and age. Liy, for example, is a terrestrial healing flyly. She resides in the air above land, making her terrestrial; she has abilities in healing, making her a healing class; and she is under 3,000 years old, making her a flyly. Below is a table of Mytherian classifications:

All Mytherians are classed by the air they live in, because they cannot ever touch the ground. This is because of their amazing ability of repulsion. The way repulsion works is actually very complex, but it seems quite simple. The molecules that surround all life usually comes in contact with creatures and plants, but in the Mytherian's case, the molecules stop short of touching their skin. Instead, they clump up a few inches away from their body. This can act as a shield from outside forces, but it is possible to get past it. However, this ability is limited. If a draik wanted to fly very high, they would not be able to rely on repulsion alone, so they use their tails to repel off of. A Mytherian will learn how to control this repulsion, but a fetus may experience frustration until they do.

As a Mytherian matures and ages, it will continually get better at controlling its repulsion. The oldest of Mytherians, the Ancients, can allegedly touch objects and "walk on the ground" using a paper thin layer of air.
Another great thing about repulsion is that the air will insulate a Mytherian's body. This is most important during cold nights, when it is sleeping. Mytherians with disappearing abilities will often go invisible when they are sleeping--likewise, healing draiks will heal when asleep, shielding draiks will shield themselves, and so on.

One last thing that is interesting about Mytherian draiks is that females can NEVER see themselves, as long as they live. If they ever did, they would die instantly. This is why females must close their eyes when drinking water, for fear of seeing their own reflection; likewise, they stay away from any shiny things that could reflect their image.
