I created this directory on May 2, 2009 (the day I adopted my first Maraquan pet) when I noticed there weren't many good Maraquan Directories around.

adding your pet

If you have a Maraquan pet that you would like added to The Tide Pool, please fill out the following form:

Please have "The Tide Pool" as the subject line and send your neomail here.

It usually takes me up to a few days to add a pet. I will neomail you to confirm that your pet has been added.

* - The nickname is how your pets name will be displayed in the directory, it should be a shortened version of the pets actual name. (example: SkeithyBoy5252 could be shortened to Skeithy or Keith. It should not be shortened to Caleb.)

NOTE: Please only submit a pet if you plan to keep it Maraquan forever! If you decide to repaint or trade, please let me know so I can remove your pet from the directory.

how can I get a Maraquan pet?

There are a few ways to get a Maraquan pet. The first, and most obvious, is to purchase a Maraquan Paint Brush, pictured below this paragraph. The paint brush is currently selling for approximately 11 million neopoints.

You can also zap a pet Maraquan using the Lab Ray. This is entirely based on chance, and honestly... your chances are probably pretty low. However, you could get lucky!

If you complete a Fountain Faerie Quest (or FFQ), you will have the option to paint your pet almost any color, including Maraquan. These quests are quite rare.

The final way to get a Maraquan Pet would be using a Flask of Rainbow Fountain Water (pictured below). If you're lucky, you might "catch" one at the Underwater Fishing (available around Fishing Level 78). The Flask can turn your Neopet any color though, so this really isn't a reliable method. The Flask itself costs about 1.5 mil at the Trading Post; I'd recommend re-selling it if you're lucky enough to fish one up.

Maraquan of the Month

Each month I will choose a Maraquan of the Month, who will have their picture displayed. I look through the directory for a pet that catches my eye. I generally choose based on customisation, art or a story that sets a pet apart. I also look for pets that are loved and cared for by their owners.
