Welcome and thank you for considering the Emerald City Castle Guild.

Following are the current rules of conduct that pertain to the Emerald City Castle guild which are subject to change at any moment. It is up to each member to ensure that he/she is familiar with them at all times. Guild council, by receipt of an application for membership in the Emerald City Castle Guild, assumes that the applicant has read, understood and agrees to the rules of conduct. Please mention in your application that you are familiar with the rules.

1. When you join the Emerald Castle, please post an introduction to allow us to welcome you properly! If you have not posted within the first month of joining, your account will have to be removed. No one wants THAT!
   
   
2. When you join the guild, your rank will be Rainbow Rider. You may feel free to remain as a Rainbow Rider, or you may choose to belong to one of the countries of Oz. Yes, that is right, this guild does not have a rank structure. We do have countries and you may choose the country that you wish to live in. The countries are Gillkin Country, Munchkin Country, Quadling Country and Winkie Country. Please send your request to a council member and it will be taken care of.
   
   
3. Real life is very important to the members and council of the Emerald Castle. New members will be aware of this and consider this when things seem quiet. Please be patient and someone will be in sooner or later. We do not delete the board very often, so if you had a question or a comment, it will be noticed eventually.
   
   
4. While we appeciate the demands of real life, all members should come in and post whenever possible so that we will not worry. We do check, so when we see that you have been on Neopets several times and have not bothered to drop by, we do tend to feel slighted. And when we feel slighted...oh dear...no telling what might happen! That all said, as long as we know that all is well, your account will never be removed for inactivity.
   
   
5. When gifts are sent to members, for whatever reason at all, and they are not accepted and then returned, they will NOT be resent. The gift is then forfeit.
   
   
6. As a new member of our guild, you will notice that at times a member will ask for help for a Faerie Quest. Then another member will post that they sent it and then put NRP. Or perhaps they post the shops where the item can be found. NRP means No Return Policy in Effect.
   
   Please go ahead and ask for help on the boards, if you need it. Until you are at least one month old in the guild, the help you are given will be in the form of a list of where it can be found. Please remember to thank the person who provided the information and let us know what good things happened to your pet.
   
   After you are over one month old and have shown yourself to be a pleasant and helpful member of the guild community, when you request help, another member may just send you the item. If they have posted NRP, then you do not have to return the item. If they have not posted NRP, then you DO have to return the item. Do not ask on the board if they want it back or not. They have already indicated that they do. If two people have sent the item, then you MUST return one of them, no matter what was posted. Don't forget to post a thank you to the sender and let us know what good things happened to your pet. :D
   
   The proper form to ask for help with a faerie quest is to copy and paste the RE from the Faerie quest in your post and then ask for help. After the quest is completed, copy and paste the result from the Faerie to the board. Just posting "Faeire wants a blue hat" won't cut it. Don't worry, you will catch on after awhile.
7. You will conduct yourself with honour, respect and curtisy to your guild mates and other people on Neopets. Should it be witnessed that you have made a serious infraction, then action will be taken. Action could stem from simply being exempt from a guild event to being removed from the guild and barred from returning.
   
   
8. Do not spam the boards. Do not use chat speak on the boards. If we cannot understand your post, then we will not be able to know if help is needed by you. Please try to use appropriate punctuation. Do not worry about your spelling, we have many people from many countries and English is not their first language. All we ask is that we can understand you.
   
   
9. May you mention your shop? Yes. May you mention your goals and ambitions such as saving for a paintbrush? Yes. May you mention that you are in the beauty contest or the caption contest? Of course. :D You may NOT beg, ask for an expensive item, or try to drum up buisness for yourself.
   
   
10. Members may not create a donation shop, gallery, contest, game, drive or website. If it is discovered that any member is in violation of this rule, that member may be subject to immediated termination of membership. If a member has a suggestion for some activity, then please submit it to a member of council.
    
    
11. All members must obey the Neopets Terms and Conditions. Any member found to be repeatedly breaking the rules will be warned and if the behaviour continues, they will be removed from the guild and barred for rejoining.
    
    
12. After your membership is 6 months old, you will be entitled to participate in borrowing from the guild avie items or pets. These items and pets are very expensive. By requesting to borrow them, you are also agreeing to replace the items or pets if something happens to them while in your care. If they Paint Devil takes the expensive item lent to you, then you must replace the item. If you make a mistake in the name when returning the Halloween Lupe, and send it to someone else, then you must replace the Halloween Lupe. It is ok if it takes time, we can wait.
    
    
13. Do not make us get the Flying Monkies after you. That would be a VERY bad thing!

Council Chambers Brief

SUBJECT: Glenda

Council has agreed to a new section called Glenda. A person who is having a birthday may go to Glenda and choose from the assortment of crystal balls that will appear. The contents of the crystal balls will not be specific items, but general categories. A participant may choose a catagory of item. Not all catagories will always be available. In time Glenda may be expanded to include holidays and a point system of achievement.



SUBJECT: Dedicated Donations

Council has agreed to enable the dedication of donations. Items will be placed in the Guild shoppe that will be specific to some goal. A member may support said goal buy the purchase of the goal specific item. A person who is having a birthday or some other celebration may request, on the guild board, that donations be made towards the goal of their choice instead of gifts being sent.



SUBJECT: Avatar Lending

Council woman Jessew has agreed to open a avatar lending program. She will assist members in achieving as many avatars as possible. Consumable or cheap and easy to obtain items will not be lent. As well as members being active particpants for 6 months to be able to qualify for the avatar items program, collateral will be required before the sending out of more expenive items.



SUBJECT: GUILD OPENING

Council has agreed to open the guild to new applicants. The guild should be open by beginning Feburary.



SUBJECT: GUILD CLOSING

Council has agreed to close the guild during the holiday season. The guild will be open for new membership sometime in early 2009. Guild will remain private and anyone wishing to join us should send a neomail to the guild home account expressing their desire to join us and why. Council will decide upon acceptence after doing their utmost to examine the applicant.



SUBJECT: AVATAR PETS

Council has agreed that members may only request to borrow an avatar pet, or rare and valuable items, after members have been active participants in the guild for 6 months.
