Rules/F.A.Q.'s

Welcome, guest! This page covers all the rules and F.A.Q.'s. You must follow
them, or there will be consequences. However, rules can be changed,
if agreed by guild council. If you have an idea or a question
waiting for an answer, please neomail the headmaster, asking to
put a question on the Rules/F.A.Q. page along with your answer
because we're always eager to post a question that seemed confusing
or inunderstandable so future guild members won't have the same issue.

Sorting Questions:

How do I get sorted?
Take the sorting quiz. There is a link under Portkeys on the homepage

How long should it take to get sorted?
Usually less than 2 days, unless the council is busy

Can I pick the house I would like to be in?
At Hogwarts, the sorting hat chooses the best house
that will represent you and your fellow housemates, as
best as possible. Do not bother to ask if you can be
in the house of your choice. It won't help. Remember,
the main thing is that you are a part of the guild.
Being in a House only allows you to earn house points
for your House to win the House Cup.

I havent been sorted yet. Why?
If you have already waited 48 hours, or you don't want
to wait any longer, send your answers to someone else,
but tell the first person someone else is sorting you.

House Point Questions:

How do I earn house points?
To earn house points you can choose to participate in
classes, activities or some specials which give out
house points for completion of events. Another way to
earn house points is by donating to the guild donation
shop, or by recruiting a new member to the guild, you
get 2 house points for every person you recruit, and you can also donate to the birthday page

When does the house cup end?
We usually try to have the House Cup awarded three
times throughout one year. Dates will be given closer
to the end of the House Cup

What does my house get if we win the House Cup?
We will award prizes to every active member of the
winning house & the guild layout & colors usually
change to suit the winning house.

Other Questions:

How come I was suspended/banned from the guild?
You most likely have broken a guild rule. Please talk
to the Headmaster or council if you come across any
problems.

Can I be a part of the council?
The answer is no. As you can see we already have a
council. As for Head Boy/Girl or prefects, they are
determined by elections of the House Heads. When you
see an open spot ever on the council, please do not
hesitate in applying for the position, we may select
you, and if you beg for any staff position, you will
simply FOR SURE, not get the spot. All I can say is:
BE ACTIVE & HAVE FUN! If there is an empty position on
the sub-council (prefects, Head Boy, or Head Girl),
the council will most likely elect people by spotting
them because they are active, so others know who you
are.

Can I donate to the guild?
To donate to the guild you can send any items
(depending on the value of the items, you will get
house points) or give a kind donation of 1001np at the
donation shop, gaining your house 2 hps. All guild
donations go towards the running of guild activities
and specials.

Can my shop be an official Guild Shop?
Possibly, set up your shop, then you can ask one of
the council members for permission.

How often do I have to take classes?
Classes are there for anyone sorted to take part.
There is no max or minimum to the number of classes
you take. It's totally up to you if you would like to
participate and earn house points. Taking classes is a
great way to be active and get to know others.

Can I run a guild activity, special, or class?
You are welcome to run an activity, special or class,
only if it hasn't been taken already. You have to be
sorted, and been in the guild for one week to run an
activity. Please neomail a council member if you are
interested in running something. You have to get an
approval, though.

What should I teach?
Any class/activity featured in the Harry Potter series
is accepted, or anything related. For example, you
could teach Herbology because it's in the series, or
you might teach Dragons because it's related even
though it's not a real class in the series.

How come my post was deleted on the message board?
This is because you either posted spam, or the post
was pointless. A pointless post includes one or two
word posts. Try to post longer messages and combine
topics in one post. Also if you advertise your shop,
or another guild, it will be deleted.

Why hasn't the guild council responded to my neomail?
The council is very busy replying to as much necessary
mail as it comes. The council will reply to everything
as fast as we can, if it is something urgent, then put
URGENT in the subject.

Where does the money from the guild donation shop go?
We will most likely use the money to buy items for the
Goblin Giveaway and Birthday Packs. However, we're
also saving up to buy an advertisement notice on the
Neopets notice board so more people will be willing to
come to our guild.
