Hello. I'm Rocky7697. I was my owner's first pet, so please exclude the numbers and call me Rocky. Come and learn about me.

My Story
The shining moon cast a silver glow on every tree. Every plant, on every blade of grass that danced restlessly in the wind. Amongst the scenery that glowed wondrously in the night, there was a beautiful flash of fur pelting across the plains. She ran over the land laid in front of her, the moon's light turning her pale blue fur to silver. She ran to the top of a rise and stood, letting the breeze run through her sleek, gleaming fur. Her beautiful howl split the silence and droned all the sounds of the forest. Her wondrous song was lasted many moments before dying away. Her name was Akeela. This is my mother.

Long shadows were cast over the canyon floor, drowning out the moon's light. In the depths of the shadows gleamed two bright green eyes. One could barely make out an outline of a lupe in the darkness. Then a massive paw stepped into a shaft of moonlight, bringing with it, the rest of its body. Out of the shadows stepped an enourmous figure. Dark blue, untamed, ragged fur clung itself to the Lupe's massive structure. Large, dagger-sharp claws pointed their way out from the Lupe's toes. His ragged ears perked up at the sound of a beautiful howl. His claws scraped the rock ground as he jumped into a run. Large muscles rippled under his thick pelt as he sprinted up through the canyons and up to a rise. His name was Adulphus. This is my father.

Akeela sat on the hill, waiting for Adulphus to come. She knew this is their meeting place every night when the moon was full. Despite their tribe leaders' orders to never meet with one another. Soon she saw him emerge from the shadows toward her. She stood up and her tail shot up in delight. Adulphus strode over to her, a smile strewn accros shis face. Adulphus was not like the rest of his tribe, who's only thinking was for themselves and wouldn't hesitate to sink their teeth into an intruder. No. He was kind-hearted and all he wanted was to leave his horrible family and be friends with Akeela. The two touched noses with eachother. For one magical moment both their eyes were closed while their noses touched. The breeze just swayed in their fur; making Akeela's fur ripple and shine in the moonlight, and making Adulphus's ragged fur sway in all directions. Then Adulphus's eyes opened in sorrow. "We can't keep doing this," he said, "Our tribes are bound to find out, and I know what they would do to me if they knew," he stammered but the last words caught in his throat as if he were imaganing the horrible scene. Akeela's aqau eyes opened in sorrow and sympathy. "We can go. We can escape all our troubles with our tribes. We can run away from them together," her beautiful voice said softly. Adulphus frowned. "But you have family here who cares about you here. I can't take you away from that," Adulphus whispered. Akeela's blue eyes changed from sorrow to determination in a heart beat. "You wouldn't be taking me away. I choose to come with you," she said. Adulphus raised his head to the silver moon. Nothing could stop them. "Let us go then. There are plenty of other places to settle," he said. Akeela only nodded and smiled, her eyes showing no sign of regret. And togther, they set off running, in search of their new home.

I opened my eyes to the sun streaming down from the sky and onto my pelt. I got up and yawned. All the siblings around me were still fast asleep. My mother had her light blue tail wrapped protectively around us. She was still in slumber as well. There were 7 of us, and we were only 3 months old, but old enough to talk and understand the things we never understood. Like, the waterfall. We never knew where that water came from. It just spattered down endlessly. Having slept by it all our lives, we soon began to find the meaning of it. It came from a river up top. While I was thinking about it, some of my siblings began to wake. Some of their pelts were dark blue like our father, and some were light blue like our mother's. I was sorta in between. Mia, one of my sisters, was yawning and getting to her paws. I playfully skipped over to her and wagged my tail. "You wanna play?" I asked her. But she only stared at me like I had asked her to cover herself in dung. "Like I would ever do that, Featherface," she said, turning away. My ears drooped. Why didn't any of my siblings ever want to play with me? I sighed and padded over by the river that flowed from the waterfall. I knew the reason. I just never wanted to admit it. I stared in dismay at my reflection. Why did they have to be there? Those ugly things that sprang out of my back. They made me look like a clown. I couldn't even get my stupid wings to fly. I never thought that anyone would accept me. Besides my mother and father, I was considered a freak. I glanced over by the waterfall's edge where my father usually slept. His dark blue fur was wet with mist. My mother had woken up by now and was gathering up my brothers and sisters who were all scrambling around. "Rocky!" she called. I obiediently padded over to her.

One warm afternoon, when the sun shined bright on the forest below it, I watched from a shaded bush staring at my siblings play tag with eachother. I wished I could be part of this fun, but I know what they would say if I tried to join them. We were almost six months old, and my siblings still treated me like an "it". Sadened, I lowered my gaze to rest on my paws. I narrowed my eyes. "Today will be the day I won't be a freak. Today, I'm gonna play tag!" I whispered under my breath. I got to my paws and stretched out my wings and padded determinedly over to where my siblings were playing. Damion, one of my brothers, who had cobalt blue fur like my father, came running angrily over to me. "What are doing?!" He snarled. "This is only a game for NORMAL Lupes, which DOESN'T include YOU, Featherface," he finished. I stared at my paws in misery and anger. The other siblings were looking at me coldly. Damion just seemed to be getting angrier and angrier. "LEAVE!" He shouted, his voice high pitched. His anger overtook him as he snarled and darted toward my side. He bit it, and I yelped in pain and shock. I took off to running, with Damion on my heels. The others were trailing far behind, cheering Damion on. "I'm going to give you what you deserve!" Damion shouted as he lunged forward to bite me again. But I had darted to the right, barely missing my brother's teeth. He stumbled, and fell on h is face in the dirt. I kept running, looking back to make sure Damion wasn't coming. While I was looking back, I remember feeling the ground give way under me and my heart lurching as I felt nothing but air. I had ran straight off the edge of the Great Cliff, the cliff that Mother had told us never to wander by. I was panicking as I fell. I scrambled in the air for a hold on something, but it was useless. As I thrust my head upward, I briefly saw Damion a ways obove me, staring in shock and ....triumph? He was staring at me in triumph. But my head swerved down again. I desperatly flailed my arms and feet as I saw the jagged rocks below me getting bigger. Then I remembered. The reason why I was who I was. The reason why my siblings treated me like fungus. The reason why I was falling helplessly through the air. My wings. I flapped them as hard as I could, feeling air swerve beneath them. I seemed to be falling slower. Then I did more big strokes of my wings, rather then lots of little ones. I then felt the pressure fade away on me, and, right before my stomache hit the points of the rocks, I Flew! I flew straight forward. My heart thudded as I got down the rythm of flapping my wings. I was flying! I gave an astonished grin. Flying! I was flying! I looked up, but it was too far away to tell if Damion was still there. I swerved around joyously. I even managed a flip. I flew in circles, and triangles. Up, and down. I spent quite a while flying, feeling for the first time the woundrous feeling of being lifted in air and soaring with it.

When I began to get tired, I looked around for a place to rest. I spotted a small cave in the side of the cliff. I flew over to it and slowly let the rythm of my wings get slower. I finally landed on the ground, and tucked my wings beneath me. I was in a damp cave with a small pool in the center. I padded over to the pool and lapped some of the ice cold water. I licked my lips and stared into the pool. I saw my wings springing out from my back. I smiled, but then it turned into a frown. I saved myself by flying, but if it hadn't been for my wings, I'd never have fallen off the cliff in the first place. An image flashed through my mind. The face of Damion looking down at me, his face twisted in triumph. He was glad that I could have died? I remembered the other siblings as they cheered Damion on. It didn't matter that I could fly. I stared at my wings, wishing I could rip hem off. My eyes grew very watery as I shut them tight. When I opened them, a single tear dropped into the pool, casting circular ripples around it. My horrid image was for a moment disrupted by the ripples. But when they cleared, another image had appeared next to mine. Akeela's. Her eyes shown with releif. I looked tearily up at her. "I thought you were dead," she whispered softly. "How did you mange to survive? Damion told me what happened. He said you had been playing tag when you stumbled off the cliff." I looked down at my paws in anger. Damion was the one who had chased me off the cliff! I looked up at my mother, tears welling in my eyes again. "I flew," I stammered, feeling my voice crack. My mother's bright aqua eyes shone with pride for a moment, then changed to questain and sympathy as she saw my tears. "Then, why are you sad?" She asked, sitting down and curling her tail comfortingly around me. "I..They..." I stammered. My throat felt soar as I sobbed. "My wings," I continued, sobbing. "THey chased me. I fell. They were happy I fell! They hate me because I'm a freak! They've never liked me and they never will!" I finished, than burst out crying. My mother leaned down close to me. Her voice spoke softly into my ear. "Your wings are special. Your brothers and sisters do not understand the gift you have, and how you can use it. Your wings are beautiful, and no one can ever be like you, Rocky," she finished. I looked up. A gift? A slight hope shone inside me. My mother was the only one who thought of my wings as beautiful. I smiled at her. She smiled back and pulled herself to her paws. "Let's go," she said, and I followed her out of the cave.

A couple nights later, the moon shone on my pelt as I lifted my head toward the sky. It was a full moon. I was snuggled up in my mother's tail. My other siblings slept a ways away from me. My mother was in slumber, her flank slowly rising and falling. I turned my head to where my father was sleeping. His cobalt fur was slightly ruffled by the wind and mist. The water fall was making it's usual sound. Water falling into a pool below. It was loud, but relaxing. Everything was peacful and calm. Only I couldn't sleep. I was thinking about a couple of nights before, where Damion had been chasing me. If I hadn't had wings... I shuddered. But then again, he was chasing me because I had wings. Troubled, I set my head on my paws. My ears perked up as I heard some shifting behind me. I turned my head to see Damion getting to his paws. He stretched out his limbs and yawned, showing off tiny pointed teeth. Then his dark green eyes met mine and I glared at him in hatred. Only he didn't glare back. He just stared at me for a long time. My eyes widened in surprise as slowly his mouth creased into a friendly smile. He silently padding away from the other sleeping siblings and toward the waterfall. He jerked his head toward the waterful, signaling for me to come. Confused, I slowly dragged myself to my paws. Was Damion trying to be friendly? Maybe he was actually going to apologize. I walked over to him. "What is it?" I whispered to him. He smiled again. "Come on. I want to show you something." He padded down the river, beckoning with his tail for me to follow. I followed him, curiosity burning within me. He led me farther down the river, away from my mother and father. I glanced down at the river and could see it's powerful current flowing over rocks and reeds. The dappled moonlight glistened on the flowing black water. It must be deep, I thought. I shuddered as I imagined plunging into it and being swept away by the current. He kept leading me down the river until he veered away into a sandy little clearing. The clearing was surrounded by thick-trunked trees and bushes. It was a nice clearing, right next to the river. Even so, I wondered what was so special about this place that Damion took me so far away to show me. "What did you want to show me? This clearing?" I asked him. "You'll see in a moment," was all he said. He stood calmly so that I was between him and the river. Damion looked down at his paws. He looked up, his friendly -disallowed_word- after a lot of saving up) to match my wings. My mother was right. I did find a loving owner.

Well there you have it. My closest friends are Nimmble and Lukui. We do fun stuff together. Anywho. What do I usually do for fun? Well... I usually fly off somewhere and explore new lands. I really like Tyrannia and Mystery Island. I also like to fight in the Battledome sometimes.

My Owner
I really love my owner. She feeds us more then just lost desert food. I'm so glad she picked me out of that box. She knows quite a lot about neopets now. I was her first pet, and we have had so many fun adventures together. Sleding down the highest sloap at Terror Mountain and screaming so loud that all of Tyrannia could here us, swimming at Mystery Island, exploring see caves at Tyrannia, Diving down deep in Maraqua, ah the memories. We still have a blast together now! She's not really the type who thinks before she leaps, but we grew up togethher and I have to keep her under control sometimes. She has long brown hair(as told in my story) and is quite tall. She prefers to be called Flaze. Call her honey(short for honeycourtney) abd she will NOT like you. She is a HUGE fan of Darigan. She told me if she was ever a was ever a neopet, she'd be a Darigan Lupe.
*Flaze bumps in* Flaze: DARIGAN RULES!!! So, BACK OFF you Merridellions!!..... Oh, sorry. Lost it there. Continue Rocky.
Okay... I think she's loaded up with cofee..... Well, anywho. She's really into wolves and stuff. Her favorite color is orange. And that pretty much wraps it up.
