Basic Stamps Info
Stamps have been around in Neopia for quite a few years, but before they were stamps, they were filling albums!
When you get a stamp, shell or coin then you can put it into your own album, but when you put it in there, it is impossible to get them back out!
Each Neopian who owns their own account gets a free stamp album, with 22 pages in including a front page and free adhesives. The adhesives have no special role, they just act as an image to show that you do not have a stamp in that position of the album page. The adhesives do prevent you from licking the stamp, saliva on stamps mean they can become destroyed easier.
The 22 album pages come with 21 sets of stamps and a front cover for your album. The front cover only serves as a decorative purpose. The rest of the album pages are where you stamps are placed and kept forever. You can not remove any stamps once they have been put into your stamp album, you can not put 2 of the same types of stamps in an album together.
Each stamp sits in a specific place according to what it's NP value (on the stamp) and rarity. This position is predetermined by the Neopets Team, meaning you can not place stamps where you want them to go. According to the theme of the stamp, it is placed on it's stamp page theme, e.g. Mystery Island Kougra Stamp will go on the Mystery Island Album page and the Mini Evil Coconut will go on the Evil Coconut Album page.
In your album, you currently have a front page and 21 other stamp pages to fill up. When you click on the first page, it takes you to your first Stamp Album Page: Mystery Island.
When you go to an album page, you can hover over the pictures for the Stamp/Coin/Shell/Coconut/Charm name!

Buying Stamps and Adding Stamps to the Album
You can buy Stamps from the Post Office, Shells from the Collectable Sea Shells Shop, Coins from the Collectable Coins Shop, Charms from the Toy Shop and Coconuts from winning a game at the Coconut Shy.

When you buy a stamp through haggling, or have got a stamp through other means, it is placed in your inventory and then from there, you must click on the stamp to open its window. Once the new smaller window has opened, you must select the "Put in your Stamp Album" option and press the submit button. This will take you to the page saying your stamp has been added to your album, if you have done this correctly.
When you don't have a stamp, then you have this (picture below) in it's place, which is hinge that you can put on a real life stamp that goes in an album/for display. Also, TNT haven't made some stamps yet so currently where there isn't a stamp to fill, it also looks like this:
When you have placed a stamp into your album, from your Inventory, it takes its allocated position on the stamp album page, where there was the picture above.
You can earn avatars collecting stamps! You can only get them by filling up the whole stamp album page, a few stamps won't get you them!

However, to get on the High Scores list (found here), you need about 395 stamps or more. This is not easy, so if you want to get yourself recognised in the stamp collecting industry, you have a long way to go and a lot of NP to spend to get there. To get the avatars alone, you need roughly 1 billion NPs and the patience to get the stamps, meaning getting a trophy would require more effort, patience and NPs!
