But somehow, this forest doesn't appear to be a jungle like area...you don't see any vines, or much of anything jungle like around. It's not even hot and balmy, like the jungle would be. Slowly a small thought makes it's way into your brain If I'm not in the haunted woods, and I'm not on mystery island, then....where in neopia am I? Suddenly, you hear a rustling sound, and a wherelupe jumps from the the bushes near the clearing, you cry out. Watching as around two hundred pounds of fur and fangs tries to tackle you to the ground. The last sound you hear is a sharp twang, and a startled yip, as you slowly find yourself blacking out...

Ello! 'Elllllllllooooo~! Wake up will ya! Ughhhhhhh.... you cry, slowly coming around, your eyes only partly open. A fuzzy green blob forms before your eyes, and finally your eyes focus, and you see a green ixi in front of you. You shudder, as you remember the sight of the large lupe that had almost attacked you. Y-you saved me? you ask, looking at the thin and scrawny green ixi before you. Aye, 'tis a good thing too. If someone else had found you well, you might have been in even bigger trouble. You slowly prop yourself up on one elbow and look around. You appear to be in a small cave, which someone had converted into a home. A fire was made in a small pit nearby, it's smoke going out through a small hole in the ceiling, a small wooden cot lies in the corner, covered with a green blanket. Where am I? you ask, looking around the cave in amazement. The ixi chuckles, then replies. You're around fifty miles east of brightvale. Just over the Meridell border. This area here is known as the Meridell Woods and it's one of the largest forests in neopia. This cave 'ere is my home, or the closest thing I've got to one. You sure did a nice job. you say, not wanting to tell the ixi about how bare it looked. Aye. Most of the work was done by nature herself, but I did what I could. I don't have company that often. Most don't even venture into these woods. They don't? you ask, looking at your young host. Nope. This wood is home to wherelupes, thieves, and a whole lot of other stuff they don't want to mess with, or so they say. she replies, smiling. Actually, the only thing they have to worry about is my friends and I, and a small pack of wherelupes. They normally don't attack people, like that one did, but I guess he must have thought you were something else. The ixi looks at the fire for a moment, then exclaims Oh Turtums, where are my manners! I've never introduced m'self! I'm Rita, or as most people call me...the witch of the woods. she says, laughing. I'm not a real witch, though I do know a lot about magic. I prefer to use it for the better of others, rather than turning people into stink beetles. Rita is simply put, Ilusen's Ixi, she was raised by the famous earth faerie from a young age, and knows a lot about the forest. Ilusen taught her about archery, potion brewing, plants and herbs, and many other important life skills. After Rita turned 16, she moved into a small cave in the Meridell Woods. She helps out the local Theives Guild from time to time, and guards the forest from any locals intent on deforestation.

Rita is a determined lass, she really isn't afraid very often, and often speaks her mind. She's not one for fashion, or dressing up, and she isn't that neat at times. She loves to bake, and she wears her hair in different styles depending on her mood. Sometimes it's just loose and curly, sometimes it's up in a pony tail, or a braid, I've even seen her wear it in a bun once!

Rita fears fire. Not the campfires that are contained, but forest and house fires. She fears being evil, and ending up like her cousin. She's half darigan, yet loves her home country. If a war were to break out, she'd try to stop it, before both sides get hurt. Her main enemy is Phantom an evil darigan kougra who is a really, really, bad guy.

Rita's got a love/hate relationship with Vawghn, simply because he keeps all of his secrets from her. He also acts like she doesn't exist, and treats her like a friend only. She wishes that he would get a clue.

Character Overview

Rita was born to a Dariganian acher, and a neovian astronomer. Tori, her mother, was sister to Alice, who was the mother of Sophie the Swamp Witch. Her mother and father had orignally settled in the land of Darigan, but when the Orb was stolen, a great sickness came over the land, transforming the people into the darigan pets we know today.

Rita's father was reported missing in battle just a short while after the orb was stolen, and heartbroken, Rita's mother fled the country shortly after she contracted the great sickness. Looking more and more like a darigan ixi, she ran through the small country of Meridell, looking for shelter with baby Rita in her arms.

Eventually, Tori was caught and brought to the castle, where baby Rita was seized from her. After staying the night, Tori soon found that the sickness was only a mild case, and her starry fur had returned. She was soon admitted to see King Skarl. After explaining about why she was in meridell and where she was going, King Skarl explained to the young mother in a kind voice that she couldn't expect to raise a young child by herself. He told her that he would see to it that the child would be taken care of until she was 18 years old, or until Tori could prove that she had enough resources to take care of a child.

Ilusen stepped up, and visited Skarl, and told him that she would care for Rita herself. Skarl agreed to this idea, and Rita became Ilusen's first ever apprentice. And, almost like a daughter to her. As the green ixi grew up, she learned archery, earth magic, healing, and everything about the forest.

When Rita turned 16, she moved into a cave in the back of the great Meridell Woods, and begain to live alone, but shortly after that she found a true use in the world. A young thief tried to steal from Rita, and after Rita caught the girl down, she found out the real reason for the many thefts that had gone on in the woods. Determined to help, Rita decided to teach the local thieves in the wood to grow vegetables, so they wouldn't have to steal so much. She also taught them about edible plants, healing herbs, and much more.

Soon, Rita was a full thief, and became fast friends with many of the guild members. She had many adventures, but soon after helping Illusen with a favor, Rita found out that her mother was alive, and soon found the starry ixi in Altador. A few years after she and her mother were reunited, Vawghn introduced Rita to an ixi that had been staying with his mom. Rita was soon shocked to find that it was her Father, who had lost his memory due to a bad injury. With the help of a few good friends Rita helped her father to remember, and her parents now run a small commuity center for local children.

Soon after, Rita goes with her good friend Calm Wood, to visit his family in the lost desert, where she discovers that she and Calm Wood are actually Cousins. Her father's brother is the father of Calm, Ash, Drift, Lilac, and Holly Wood. All of whom are as adventurous and strange as their meridellian cousin.

Friends and Family

Rita leads you over to a stone shelf in the back of the cave. On the shelf are many pictures, mainly of Rita and some other ixi. Those are my friends...and my family. We...aren't related by blood, but..we've kept each other out of trouble so many times. Family isn't about flesh and blood...it's about love and hope, and watching out for each other. They are my world, and I would never want them to be hurt.

Family

Telescope (Tori Swander Wood)
Tori is me mother. She's living with Sunny at the moment, because she has no place else to go. She misses my father very much, and wishes she could see him again. But we both know he didn't come home from war, didn't he?

Xellaration
Xell was a former wanderer from the lost desert, he met Sunny when she got lost by mistake. Apparently, he is descended from the first kings and queens of Sakhmet. He has a right to the throne, but he doesn't want to assert it.

Lady Pound
A Fair Lady who is a pure mystery to me. Pound claims to rule over the Pound Chat Building with an iron fist, but sometimes I wonder if under all of that ego and self-centered stuff, she might just care about those people.

Fatuidad
Fatu is a storm chaser which means she heads out to the Neopian Plains every spring and chases neopia's tornados. She and Sunny are kindred spirits when it comes to weather.

Vawghn
Vawghn is a slightly bookish ixi. He works at a small bookstore in neopia central. He's...a good friend, and I admire the calm way in which he handles things. I...I sorta wish he would tell me what he does when he's alone.

Writer
One of those "Elementals" that my best friend Ghost works with. Writer has a certain gift. Apparently certain people can be transported into her writing. Along with shapeshifting abilities, this girl has many different talents.

Reader
Apparently, Reader was created by Writer. Reader is a very impish, impusive, and quite daring ixi. Reader spends his time traveling around in Writer's stories, and sometimes traveling neopia with her.

Friends

Kyla_Desmond
Kyla is a mysterious ixi from a land known as Yiggdrasil, she met me and Iriz on terror mountain. Kyla has very powerful magic, but has trouble controlling it, but she is now receiving training in magic from some of my friends and I. Who knows what adventures Kyla and I will be having next?

magdalena_pirate (Impie)
Impie is an ixi with a style unlike any other. From her starry fur, to her ability to blast music into her ixi ears. She's friends with Kyla, and she can pin Calmwood to the ground.

Blasche
Blasche is a wood wizard, which are known for being vain, but he's not, surprisingly. Blasche has very powerful magic, and is best friends with Kyla, he is also receiving training from me and my friends.

Moss_Covered_Ixi (Mossy)
I seriously think that Sunny wants to steal Mossy from his owner Ani. She spoils him more than she does me! -___- ANYWAY, Mossy is a fellow guardian of the Meridell Woods, although he *cough* doesn't quite agree with my methods.

LadyListreena (Listi)
Listi should count as family, but NOOOOOO...Sunny said I had to put her here since she's not owned by her. Anyway, Listi is Sophie's daughter, and since Sophie is my cousin, that makes her...my second cousin-ish? Anyway, she calls me Aunt Rita, which makes me feel old. -___-

That is me, well, what I was named after. I know, I know, it's a hurricane, but if you know my owner Sunny, you'd know why. Sunny lives in this land she calls Texas and from what I can gather, she said that this storm which was named Rita, hit her land sometime in 2005. She said that it was one of the most powerful storms to hit her homeland, and that it was a catagory 5 storm whatever that means.

Anyway, Sunny created me on the 16th of December 2007, when she first joined neopets, I'm her first pet, and she loves me a whole lot. Even though she says that I'm a tree hugging ixi. *sticks out tongue at my crazy owner*

Sunny's Note: Rita doesn't know the whole "state" concept. She never was that good at learning about the whole government stuff. She's too used to having a king rule over her. :)

The Quilt...

Oh this little thing? Charrie made it for me. He's such an odd ixi, but he has some really good sewing skils. It's made out of magical patches of cloth I've collected over my travels!

Pound claims to rule over the Pound Chat Building with an iron fist, but sometimes I wonder if under all of that ego and self-centered stuff, she might just care about those people. Fatuidad Fatu is a storm chaser which means she heads out to the Neopian Plains every spring and chases neopia's tornados. She and Sunny are kindred spirits when it comes to weather. Vawghn Vawghn is a slightly bookish ixi. He works at a small bookstore in neopia central. He's...a good friend, and I admire the calm way in which he handles things. I...I sorta wish he would tell me what he does when he's alone. Writer One of those "Elementals" that my best friend Ghost works with. Writer has a certain gift. Apparently certain people can be transported into her writing. Along with shapeshifting abilities, this girl has many different talents. Reader Apparently, Reader was created by Writer. Reader is a very impish, impusive, and quite daring ixi. Reader spends his time traveling around in Writer's stories, and sometimes traveling neopia with her. Friends Kyla_Desmond Kyla is a mysterious ixi from a land known as Yiggdrasil, she met me and Iriz on terror mountain. Kyla has very powerful magic, but has trouble controlling it, but she is now receiving training in magic from some of my friends and I. Who knows what adventures Kyla and I will be having next? magdalena_pirate (Impie) Impie is an ixi with a style unlike any other. From her starry fur, to her ability to blast music into her ixi ears. She's friends with Kyla, and she can pin Calmwood to the ground. Blasche Blasche is a wood wizard, which are known for being vain, but he's not, surprisingly. Blasche has very powerful magic, and is best friends with Kyla, he is also receiving training from me and my friends. Moss_Covered_Ixi (Mossy) I seriously think that Sunny wants to steal Mossy from his owner Ani. She spoils him more than she does me! -___- ANYWAY, Mossy is a fellow guardian of the Meridell Woods, although he cough doesn't quite agree with my methods. LadyListreena (Listi) Listi should count as family, but NOOOOOO...Sunny said I had to put her here since she's not owned by her. Anyway, Listi is Sophie's daughter, and since Sophie is my cousin, that makes her...my second cousin-ish? Well, first you have to read a few things: Rita is RP'ed in furry antro, and only in the world of neopia, she doesn't want to leave neopia, be human, or even be wild. Rita likes being her furry antro self. M'kay? If you RP with Rita/any of my other ixi, I will be adding your ixi to her list of friends, and putting your patch (if you have one) on her page. The only way for your pet to get their patch on Rita's page is if you've RP'ed with her, or the pet is owned by a good friend. :) Sunny isn't exactly a perfect RP'er, and yes, she sometimes will mess up. I know, I know, it's a hurricane, but if you know my owner Sunny, you'd know why. Sunny lives in this land she calls Texas and from what I can gather, she said that this storm which was named Rita, hit her land sometime in 2005. She said that it was one of the most powerful storms to hit her homeland, and that it was a catagory 5 storm whatever that means. Anyway, Sunny created me on the 16th of December 2007, when she first joined neopets, I'm her first pet, and she loves me a whole lot. Even though she says that I'm a tree hugging ixi. sticks out tongue at my crazy owner Sunny's Note: Rita doesn't know the whole "state" concept. She never was that good at learning about the whole government stuff. She's too used to having a king rule over her. :) The Quilt... Oh this little thing? Charrie made it for me. He's such an odd ixi, but he has some really good sewing skils. It's made out of magical patches of cloth I've collected over my travels! Link Back! I know you'll be wanting to leave.
