An old tattered journal lays on a rusted metal platform. Perhaps it can tell you something about this creature...
Day 1: Our studies prove that a creature can harness electrical impulses and use them at will. We are determined to create such a creature. We have started with two canine embryos and have been sending shock waves through their bodies at random intervals and intensities. All seems well.
Day 3: The electricity seems to have a few odd effects on the embryos. They seem to be growing at a rapid rate, and blue markings have appeared along one of their backs. Creatures under heavy observation.
Day 5: Experiment 249 has died. Cause of death: Electric Shock.
Day 7: Experiment 249A has been growing rapidly over the past few days. It's size has tripled and it has been moved to a larger test tube for further study. It seems to be absorbing the electric impulses and can withstand a sudden shock of 3000 volts. We will be increasing the voltage. Creature must withstand at least 35,000 volts to be classified a success.
Day 13: Gender confirmed: Male
Day 16: The creature has been given a number and has been moved to a holding cell. Experiment 249A can withstand a shock of 10,000 volts. Voltage increased.
Day 17: Exp. 249A has developed the ability to shoot electricity from his mouth. A rubber muzzle has been crafted for safety. Exp. 249A seems unhappy.
Day 22: Creature can withstand shocks of up to 22,000 volts for a period of ten minutes before collapsing. The electricity is absorbed into the creatures back and released through his jaws. Creature is a living energy circuit.
The pages seem to be torn and missing from here on in. It will be difficult to read...
Day 37: Exp. 249A has broken free of his chamber... Withstand... 37,000 volts... Success. Killed 12 guards and 3 scienti... Moved to high security...
Day 40: ... up to 46,000 volts... creature has... dangerous... mouth sewn shut
Day 50: Exp. 249A escaped... killed... guards and scientists... Creature... failure... dangerous... must be destroyed
There are many missing pages. You flip through the book, desperately searching for more information about the creature. Tucked away in the back of the book is a folded page. You begin reading...
Day 68: I am the only one left... Lab destroyed by Exp. 249A... I can hear... coming... I can see the shocks of his body... enraged... Failed experiment... too dangerous to... handled. Cannot be tamed... Steer clear... old facility destroyed... What have we done... creature... capable of... the world...
So this creature... was created in a lab? Then that means... you must be standing in the remains of the facility. The creature never left the lab... Why?
