I'm Never
Nice
.
«Prologue»
Oh- you've traveled far! The gray sky hung above you, almost about to burst from an overload of rain... so why don't they? Heh, the answer is quite simple- they're waiting for you to find somewhere safe, because no one likes to cause another's misfortune. No one at all, not even the sky. Well, hurry now! The clouds can't wait forever! Your feet pound hard against the asphalt as you progress (can you even say that you've been progressing?) through the... well, where else? The Middle of Nowhere.
This is pointless. Where's the end of the road? Where's the start of the mountain range? Seriously- where's any sign of life?! You can't be the only one here on this never-ending path of cold, hard earth... can you? You look behind you, at the road you've already covered. Now, how did I get stuck here anyway? I hardly ever walk around by myself! Ah- there's a first time for everything. Keep going, you'll find someplace to stay soon.
Look up, what do you see? Telephone poles? Still? My, this is getting boring. Too bad you're not on some sort of computer on some sort of web page, or you'd be able to rush through to the bottom. Yeah, too bad. Better keep going...
Nothing... nothing still. The same endless road you've been staring at for the past three hours. It's the same, right? Yes... it's all the same.
Wait- what was that?! You looked straight up a Telephone pole and see-- whoa! Look, look at that! A strange creature stared back down at you from on top the towering pillar. Heh, you already know there's nowhere to run, so wait here, maybe it'll greet you.
The creature skillfully jumped down the side of the pole, easily hooking it's long claws around the steel staples used to guide most people up the pole... down too. Sure enough, the creature's friendly. You should take a few seconds to inspect it first... Large elfin ears, long neck, narrow muzzle, six strong legs- one of which being a... what? A horse leg? Never mind. It looks somewhat friendly...
Alright, careful now... it's coming closer. The both of you pause in front of each other, but the creature is the first to make the next move. It bows it's head low, and looks back up at you slowly. She chuckles slightly.
Heh, Welcome to my... Hnnh- everlasting roads...

As you stride along the black road, your new friend leading the way, you begin to wonder just what kind of creature Revolting is.. and what she's doing out here in the middle of nowhere. Only- it seems like a pretty irrelevant question, so you decide to keep to yourself..
After a moment's wait, Revolting stops under another huge telephone pole. Had she read your mind? Ehm... I don't get company so often, and I have a... story of some sort. Your friend begins. She seems a little skittish at first, but then shakes off her nervousness and continues to speak. You wouldn't mind listening to me, would you? Well, of course you wouldn't mind.
The both of you sit under the wooden pole as Revolting begins to tell her tale...
Life is like a box of chocolates...
You never know what you're gonna' get.
Well, I can hardly even remember what happened last week, much less can I remember what happened years ago. There is one story, however, that I've completely memorized forward and backward. Hnn... let's see.. it all started the day my mother and I received glorious news- well, it was glorious to me.
My father had passed away during an assignment to bring a parcel of some sort to a friendly tribe to the west. My mother wasn't all too happy about the news, and when I learned how that would affect my own life, I wasn't either. I was told that because my father had failed to bring the parcel west, it was now my duty to see that the parcel made it to the amicable tribe before they decided to wage war against us. Now, I have no idea why this package was so important that it would alter our friendship with this powerful civilization, but I knew that I wouldn't want to be the cause of our tribe's downfall.
Twelve human years old, and I commenced this journey for my father's corpse and the half-way delivered parcel. My own tribe's fate was in my hands now..
There was no real adventure planned out for me. My job was clear and straightforward. The route my father took was pretty dangerous.. You had to be very skilled in the paws to scale the same mountain he did, and to skip across the same rivers. I was actually starting to get the impression that my father had perposly taken this path- and purposely died, just so I could share his fate on this mission. Hey, what can I say? I was young and weak in the head. As you might have noticed, my father and I didn't get along too well.. and I'm not quite sure why. But, I am perfectly sure he wouldn't want to kill me, right?
Eh, anyway..
Apparently, I adopted some of his genes, and managed to make it as far as a few miles from home. As I said, I wasn't too old, and I wasn't the strongest in my village, for that matter. Not even close... the travel was rough and tumble, and anything but easy. Yes, I'm willing to admit it was a small shred of fun. I had the thought of returning home and news of my father's death fresh in my mind-
.
Heh... listen, friend. The journey to my father's rotting corpse is certainly not intriguing enough, nor would you care to read about it. Ehm... no- I'm not covering for anything.
Ah- I've lost my train of thought! Do you wish to hear my story or not? Mmm... yes, that's right..
I'm afriad I've forgotten my adventure. These things happen when you become as old as I am! Oooh; how I wish I could remember. It was epic, dear, I'm sure of that.
The creature suddenly froze- entirly. She slowly lowered her head until she was looking point-blank at the ground.
That's... that's why I'm here.. What? You wonder what she could mean by that.
I never brought the parcel back. I was banished. Shunned.
You don't say anything... of course. Why don't you wait for your friend to change the subject.. it's not best to stay on this topic.
Ha! But that's not your problem, is it? Nope! Heh- I'm sorry to have bothered you with that! Now- erm, let's get going! That's enough about me, I wish to tell you about my family!
You and Revolting stand, and wait a while for all the blood to rush back to your feet. As you start to walk further into the endless road, Revolting purposly stumbles into your way, nearly knocking you off your feet.
Oh- I'm so sorry. That's my bad!
She said, and dashed off, leaving you behind. You can hear her laughing.
Hurry up! I'm at least a few years older than you!
Fam-Fam
DUSTYMASK as I've heard, has had some fairly good luck lately. Of course, I wouldn't know because my own flesh and blood hasn't bothered to say a word to me since I've come to live with him and his new found family. As much of a good person he his, he ain't got a bright bone in his body. It other words, he isn't too smart... but, hey! You shouldn't listen to the crazy old aunt; he's probably plenty smart. Plus, the last time I spoke to him he was no more than a year old, so of course I'm going to say he's stupid. I haven't much more to say 'bout him... so if you need to learn more, just go ask him yourself. *mutters* He'll most likely want to talk to you rather than me...
VAMPIRIC HECKTIC is the only one creature I know who's been able to keep in touch with her inner goddess. Like her brother Dustymask, Vapiric Hecktic was born in Olympus- which was, unfortunatly, destroyed. Dusty seemed to give up of his godhood straight away, but Hecktic gave it all she got, and eventually ended up reviving Olympus, along with a few friends she made on this... adventure she went on. Eh.. I know she told me all about it, but I forget these things. She's and alchemist, I think... Oh- y'know what? Go ask her yourself, I'm not going to ramble on about this...
WACHTRAUM! Oh, what a dear! She is currently keeping me company while I live under Jasmine's watch. Wachtraum is just like Dusty, I say, but they're both in denial. Of course... here is that one thing Wachy has... erm, Obsessive-compulsive disorder? No, no.. ehm- Oh yes! Short-term memory-loss, that's it! She quite fun to be around, actually! She forgets information almost three seconds after it reaches her ears! Nonetheless, Wachtraum is one of the greatest friends I've been in a long time, and it's pretty much staying that way. If you ever have the chance to meet her, you'll know what I mean. Wachtraum, unlike the lot of us, always has a sense to do good and help the rest of us out. But... I'll never really understand her ways... I just enjoy them while I can! No one can stay that way forever... can they?
SRADICHI. Heh.. he's changed alright. I didn't even know he was still alive until a few months ago! Strange kid, Sradichi is-- even so, he's fairly handsome and has a good personality to match. Sradichi... he is... polite, patient, and awfully kind. I've been a little worried, lately, though... He's real jumpy, and you can't hardly make any sudden movement while he's around or he'll huddle up in the corner and totally freak out or something... Anyway, I told him that he needs to give the address to the charm school that he went to so I can take Dusty there one day. He insists that he's never even seen a charm school, but I don't believe him. What else can I say? The guy's a pacifist.
AIRITHUS is my younger, less radiant goddess sister... I mean, she thinks she's a goddess, but she's really not all that great. I say I'm better than her in all sorts of ways. I mean, just look- in all her... preppy, winged prepness. She's been annoying since I could remember, and even now. Hmph. I have no more to say about "Air-ih-thus", nyuh.
Friendie-Wendies
Revolting stumbles slightly and falls forward into an awkward sitting position. Friends? She asks, and rises slowly to her feet. Heh, heh.. hah- ha! She bursts out laughing. Wait, laughing? Why is she laughing? Do I look like I own any friends? She stands in front of you, tall, strong, and with good posture. Sure. Why not? Yeah. She looks like she has friends. Well, I don't. Haven't even seen that much people come by in a year years. Glad you stopped by. She said, and turned in a small circle before marching away. Fallow me, I still have more to tell you. She calls out.

Your friend stops under yet another telephone pole and plops down onto the ground. She freezes momentarily before yawning for what seemed to be an eternity, revealing several rows of jagged, bleach-white teeth. While yawning, she speaks. Yes, I know of this little place called Luminosity, believe it or not I've been able to walk long ways away from this.. She glares spitefully at the road behind her, and then to the road ahead. this... really long street- I'll just say. Revolting switches her attention from the road to the sky, and then to you. Luminosity, although I've only been there once, seems like a nice place. A pretty little grassland, that's all. Oh, I've heard talk of a gully-type thing somewhere along the way, but I've never seen it, so I'm not real quick to believe it. She rambles on about Luminosity and it's peaceful enough to hear myself think and, has a lot more color than my depression little street, laughed at territory of the nephew, not aloud to wander and concluded with give it a look see, maybe you'll like it too. Before getting back to her feet, she stretched her two front limbs. Oh... I'm getting old. She muttered. I'll bet next time you come around, I won't be around. You and Revolting slowly haul yourselves up to you feet and walk down the road.

Somewhere along the way, you've managed to accept Revolting not for what she looked like, but for how she acted. Revolting was strange, no doubt. She was a seven-way hybrid. She complained a little, laughed a lot, was rather lazy, told you about her childhood, nearly knocked you off your feet, explained a small family to you, described the new found land of Luminosity, and told you that she wasn't excepting to live much longer.
You're not too sure, but what was it that made Revolting a friend? She didn't do much for you. Maybe kept you busy, but does the thought of her death bother you at all? No- not so much? That's alright, she's probably going to live for some time longer.
- - - - - - - - - - -
What're you doing way over there? C'mon, hurry it up! You look forward to see Rovolting far ahead of you. Daydreaming isn't that healthy, y'know! Hurry up, I have something for you...

When you catch up to Revolting, you notice a small, green frog rested on her palm. Well... ehm, he's not much, but... Her voice trails off as she tries to explain herself. You see, my mother once told me, 'Where ever they are frogs, there is water- and where ever there is water, there is life.' Still confused you stare at the frog, who stared back at you. Riiibit. The frog croaks. Revolting sets the frog on the asphalt. It never made any sense to me, but that doesn't matter. You can have him if you want. She looks down at the frog. I just thought it was kinda' cool. Y'know, frog means life, and there's practically no life out here. Revolting turns around, and begins to walk away. As she does, she calls over he shoulder, Heh, I guess things aren't always as they seem.
You think for a moment. No... things are most defiantly not as they seem.
