Welcome
You enter a dark opening much like that of a cave. As you continue through the endless darkness you begin to wonder whether or not to turn back, but just as you do you feel a soft breeze brush against your face. You decide to continue walking until you approach a blinding white light.
You walk out into a secret cove filled with snow. Near an edge you see a bori sleeping. As you approach, he awakens and looks at you with a huge smile. But for a moment his smile looks distant. Suddenly, the scenery around you changes..

It was a fateful day when my entire life had changed. My family and I were living in what is now Shenkuu, but was previously just dense woods. It was here that I was raised, and hoped to live for the rest of my life. The seasons were always predictable and weather was never a problem for harvest or fun.
My parents sent me off to school, just like they did every other day. I had arrived and my day was going on much like it did every other day, but half way through, a grarrl general and a few other soldiers had arrived and rounded us up. It was later on that day that I saw my parents with another group. I tried to run to them only to be stopped by the generals. It was apparent that we were not going to be reunited. I hopped onto a car with several of my classmates and a few others. We were sent off to a little camp in the abandoned outskirts of Altador. I was panicking and desperate to find my parents.
I was not sure how long it had been, but I knew it was time to run away, or who knows what might happen. That night, I waited for midnight to strike when the guards would switch shifts. It was time. I made a run for it and dodged as the high beams came down and disappeared, and reappeared, and left yet again. It was difficult not being seen, but I made a run for it and kept running, running, running. I didn't know where I was headed and I looked back only once to notice I was a good distance away not to get caught. I was finally free.
My journey began at sunrise of the next day. I wasn't familiar with anything except for Altador and my previous home-- which was gone now. I decided to follow the direction of the rising sun, east. The next few weeks were full of picking food and finding possible shelters to survive off of. It was a bad decision, because I was now at the edge of a huge snowy mountain. I couldn't go back, though. It risked the possibility of being caught again. I stored up on food and began my hike up the mountain.
When I reached higher, it was harder to find food. But luckily, I found a kind couple who took me in. I stayed for a while. One day I heard the couple talking lowly and they mentioned me, costs of living, possible crimes, and many other things I faintly picked up. I knew they were getting tired or worried about me being here, and it was time to leave. I left a thank you note in my room, and left through the -blocked- My hike up the mountain was not too far anymore. The peak was in sight now and afterward, it would be all downhill.
Once I reached the peak, I saw an eerie sight below me. To my left, there was the Haunted Woods and to my right there was the Lost Desert. I had only heard of the dangers and fears of these places. Lost Desert had no water and I wasn't quite sure how I'd be able to survive. Haunted Woods seemed like the better choice, as long as I could face those creepy dangers. Haunted Woods it was. I descended down the mountain heading left.
I reached the Woods and was welcomed by several frightening things. First there was the Brain Tree, and it wouldn't stop asking me useless questions about neopians such as Lenny Skeith, and others. It was like trivia questions no one knew of. Then there were the freaky mutated pets that stared at me and a moving mountainous mass asking for food. Like I had much food myself. As I continued walking, I bumped into a werelupe, and boy did he look mad. I let out a scream, ran away and accidentally fell. The werelupe came closer and closer. I thought it was over, but when he was in front of me, he helped me up. Surprised, he said, "Whoa, sorry I scared you back there, I thought you were someone else. Do watch where you're going, though. There are some frightening things here to a stranger." I thanked him for helping me and for the advice, and I continued walking.
I eventually reached the end of the woods and reached the coast line. I didn't know what to do. I was expecting to keep going on my journey. It was then that I saw a bunch of pirate looking pets. They were carrying crates which seemed to be full of heavy objects that clattered. "Hey! You guys in the striped shirts! What are you doing?!" I yelled. One of the pirate aishas at the end was surprised and nearly dropped the crate. She turned around to face me with a cold look of guilt. Her partners seemed to have disappeared. I approached her as she stood there. "What's in the crate?" I asked her.
-"Oh.. uhh, not much, ye know, the usual," she said suspiciously.
-"Oh, well, mind if I take a look?" I asked out of curiosity.
-"Uhh well, ye see, I gotta catch up with me partners," and she started to walk away.
-"Wait! can I come with you?" I asked.
-"Sorry, no, but here's something for ye if ye keep yer mouth shut," and she tossed me a strange looking potion.
-"Oh, thank you!" I yelled as she began running away. She looked back at me and gave me a wink. She disappeared into a boat with a giant black flag and a skull on it.
I was walking along the coastline when I realized I had no food. I was getting tired and very hungry. There was no food along the coast, just miles of endless water and sand. Then I realized, I still had the potion in my hands. It had an awful smell and the liquid was separated into several colors, and no matter what, it wouldn't merge together. As unappetizing as it was, I was starving, so I chugged it down my throat. I felt awful afterward, but I kept walking. A little while later I realized I had become faintly lighter in color. I had to stop from the uneasy feeling in my stomach. I walked up to the water and through the reflection I saw that I had become faerie!
The potion I took must have had some magical affect! I decided to test out my new wings. I flew higher and higher over the deep blue ocean. I could see the peaceful kois swimming and the flotsams jumping above the water. Up ahead, I saw something floating in the air. I got closer, and saw that I had reached Faerieland. I entered to find a busy city with several faeries zooming by. Everything seemed fast and no one seemed to slow down. I tried several times to ask what the potion I drank was, but they all replied with "Sorry, I'm busy," or "Can't help you right now, bye." I flew up and hit a wall, but I couldn't see the wall. I followed it and found an entrance. I entered to see Fyora behind the cashier. I was amazed to be in front of such a figure. I walked up to her and she asked, "How may I help you?" she asked.
-"I was wondering what this potion is." If anyone knew, it would be Fyora.
-"You realize this is empty?" she told me with an odd expression.
-"Yes, but do you know what it is by looking at the bottle?" I wondered.
-"Hahahah, of course, I do. Most neopians would too. It's a flask of rainbow fountain water. It changes your color into something random," she giggled.
-"OH. That would explain a lot. Thank you for your help!" I exclaimed.
-"No problem," she replied with a smile.
I left the hidden tower and began flying away from the busyness of Faerieland. I finally found my way to Neopia. I was wandering around and found myself in the pound. A pink uni lead me to the very far end of the room. Here, several pets lay waiting for someone. It seemed no one came back here and these pets were bound to be doomed. I stayed here for awhile and I decided it was time for me to get away. That day, someone was actually coming to the back. Everyone looked hopeful. I decided to stay a moment to see if I'd be lucky. I stood there and tried to catch their attention, but they stopped before they reached me and adopted out a baby aisha. My hope was shattered.
Just then, another person who saw them, came to the back. I tried again to catch their attention. It stopped again before it reached me, but this time I threw my empty flask at them. They turned around and came toward me. When they were right in front of me, they smiled and told the uni, "I'd like to adopt him!" My plan worked. I finally had a home to go to. As I walked to the desk, several people were staring. Once we reached the desk, I realized delayedtime was going to be my new owner.
