Helpful Tips for Lending/Borrowing

There are two ways to lend/borrow a pet: either through the Transfer pound option, or the Abandon/Adopt functions.

1. The Transfer feature is obviously the most secure, as it ensures your pet will receive its intended owner. However, you may only receive one pet per month, and you may only send one pet per month. They do not need to be the same pet. This limitation goes by calendar month (thus one send and one receive in July; one send and one receive in August, etc.)
2. When a pet is successfully transferred to its new owner, there is a short waiting period before it may be transferred again. (This is either a few days or a week; unconfirmed.) If you try to transfer the pet to someone, it will say that "petname does not want to be transferred" and you must wait.
3. Most guild members lending would prefer to only use the Transfer method to lend. If requesting to borrow, you should clearly state whether you have used your send/receives this month, so there is no confusion.
4. If someone (or you) initiate a transfer, but the recipient rejects it, it still "counts" as using up your one for the month.
5. If lending using the Abandon/Adopt feature (not recommended), make sure to clearly set up a time when you are both online and keep the pet name private. Also, it is recommended that the time be more randomized (e.g. 4:24:20 NST as opposed to 5:00:00 NST).
6. By borrowing a pet, you are obliged to return it.
