Sumaem and Ravenlace were born to an equine who only wanted power and wealth. She married a Stallion who was a general of an army. After a few months of being with eachother, he wanted children. But not any child, a warrior child. While she bore his child, he inserted a Fire gem into the womb, creating a monster of fire that would battle enemies to no end in flame.
After the first born he was outraged. It was a Uni with fire feathers and hooves. He was disgusted by it. He ordered her to have another child with the same technique, but the results were the same.
He noticed, however, that the first born's fire feathers and spread to his entire wings. After having his top scientists experiment on the childs wings he was told that slowly over years that the fire will engulf their body. But the children were immortal, and it would take hundreds of years before he got the results he wanted for a warrior. In anger, his wife ordered her children to be beheaded. The first born begged and pleaded for his life, but she showed no remorse.
Mother, Please! I don't want to die!" He cried.
Sumaem, let go of my tail! I want nothing to do with you." She kicked him with her hind hoof and walked off.
He ran to get his baby sister.
The storm was usual around Darigan. The two child Uni's struggled in the wind, their wings being blown about.
Over there!" Sumaem yelled. They swooped down into a cave, sheltered from the rain. Gliding in and stopping, they shook as much water off as possible, still drenched from the rain. They looked around. The only thing lighting the cave was their wings, as dim as it was, they could make out it was rather large. Sumaem nudged Ravenlace, and they walked to a corner, layed down, and fell asleep.
RavenLace woke up to a beam of sunlight in her face. Its warmth comforting. She stood up and yawned, looking at her surroundings. Sumaem was no where to be seen. Ravenlace started to worrily look about.
"Its fine Im here." His voice echoed in the entrance. "I was just looking for some food." He dropped a few Gwernials, Bludberries, and Dark nova fruits from a satchel around his back.
Those dont look very tasty." Ravenlace scowled at the fruit lying at her feet.
You never know til you try!" Sumaem reached down and takes a bite out of the Dark Nova Fruit. "Oh hey, this is pretty goo-" He stops in mid sentence with a sour look on his face, and forces himself to swallow the bitter fruit. "ok, well, maybe you're right, but atleast its food!" Ravenlace shook her head and began to eat.
