08.31.09 As you can probably tell from the past few days, if you visited this page, Raeci's petpage is going under revamp; however, since I do not have the time to work on his petpage on the weekdays (due to school and extracurricular activities), I'll have this page up for the week. Hopefully, I'll get his new layout done this weekend though. Hopefully. Thank you for your patience, and I realize I've been neglecting Raeci for the past few months. THIS IS GOING TO CHANGE, THOUGH. Not to worry! ^^
What to expect with the revamp:
- New layout
- New music (maybe?)
- STORY (wooo~ FINALLY)
- More character depth
- Form revamps
- New adoptable set
- Image cut down (honestly, the thing that kept me from updating was the amount of time this page took to load. owo)
welcome
Beware..! This page is VERY image heavy, so you might have to wait a while for it to fully load. /dies
Greetings, guest, and welcome to Raeci's petpage. I hope you enjoy your stay! Oh, and sorry if this page overloads your computer like it does Sasha's (ilusasha~). Oh, and on a side note, if you like the music on this page, please download and upload to your own server - you're using my bandwidth by hotlinking. xP
Here's a quick summary of my design and story for him:
His Past Raeci was once the beloved prince of his kingdom, his father's pride and joy, but his sister, Lirayne, hated him and was jealous that he got all of the attention. She was determined to drive him off... or even kill him. One day, the castle's magician found out of her evil plots to get rid of her brother, so on the cold, wintery night of the planned attack, he reached Raeci and told him to escape before it was too late. Confused and still loyal to his home, Raeci refused to leave, so the magician shoved him into a pool of icy cold water and returned to his room, pretending like nothing ever happened. Raeci, who had expected to drown, was surprised to find that he was able to breathe in the water, so that was where he stayed until he was driven out.
With each change in season... When the magician pushed Raeci into the water, he cast a spell on him that would give him the power to live within the elements for a certain amount of time. It was during the winter when he first discovered the power to breathe underwater, but when spring came, he found himself suffocating and as a result, jumped out of the water and became the air and the wind. He traveled through his kingdom's land until summer, when the rains brought back the memory of being stuck in the water for a very long and cold winter, so he leapt into the warm and dry grasp of fire. He stayed there until the leaves of the trees began to change color and fall off, and being the young lion he was, he wished to touch the falling leaves without burning them, thus becoming the earth, tree, leaf, and all. When the air had become cold, and the land dry and barren, Raeci became thirsty and left the land to become the water once more.

Raeci isn't one to easily hate, nor is he to easily trust a being either. One of the few beings he trusts is Suki, or Tsuki no Usagi, the snowbunny of the moon. He met Suki near the end of his first year of being imprisoned within the seasons. It was on the night of the new moon. By that time, Raeci had grown tired of being alone and having no one to talk to. It was only soon after he had been pushed into the pool of water that his father died from depression and his sister began to rule, bringing the his once-proud kingdom into ruin. No one in the palace could see Raeci, and that fact made him very sad. After several centuries of cycling around his kingdom as the seasons, though, Raeci has grown accustomed to such loneliness, but he is happy to be able to see Suki for a few days of each month. Also, even if Raeci may seem all-knowing and whatnot, he still somewhat retains a bit of a snobby high-class attitude from all those years ago.
suki
Now you're probably wondering, "Hm.. so what does this biting-cat-bad-artist-writer-type-thing plan to do as far as giving Raeci a petpet?" Well, I will attach to him a plain snowbunny petpet, named Tsuki no Usagi, Suki for short.
|
Name Suki Age Ageless Gender Female Species Snowbunny Origin / Color White Fur Color Light blue Markings Light yellow crescent under right eye; same color paws; glows at night Likes Raeci, sky, night, cool temperatures Dislikes water, day, warm temperatures Suki has a habit of hitching a ride on balloons, especially when it is during the spring with wind form Raeci. She can only visit him during the nights of the new moon, when it is dark. |
My reasoning behind choosing Suki before a lion/tiger-type petpet is because of Raeci's design, his ability to change with the seasons. The moon, I believe, has quite an effect on what Earth's weather is like, but alas, I am unsure of the details to such a theory. It's also because of the saying, "And so the lion fell in love with the lamb," from the massive amount of users on the boards with that quote in their signature... xD ANYWAYS... if a lion can fall in love with a lamb, can it not fall in love with a rabbit as well? ♥
P.S. For all of you thinking, "Well she's an avatar collector, so many she just wants to use Suki to get an avatar," you are wrong - I already have the Snowbunny avatar and am far too impatient to wait for one to age~ If you wish for proof of this, I shall show you by setting the avatar as my active one. (:
the legend
Heavy grey clouds wept over the terrain below. It was a dark and dreary day as a gloomy mood hung in the air.
Rain... Oh why did it have to rain on this day – this day of all days?! Today was supposed to be an important day, scheduled to hold one of the biggest markets of the year. It only took place when the golden leaves fell and frost takes over; products from all over the world were to be sold there today, and yet it had to rain. You had woken up later than you wished to, and now the traffic, the mud, everything – everything was ruined; there was no way that you could possibly make it to the market on time to be able to purchase the best of the crop now… yet you decide to try anyway. It was your first time going to such an event, after all – no use just giving up because of a little rain. Quickly, you dressed yourself and sprinted in the direction of the marketplace, fighting the strong winds and needles of water that were tearing through your clothing. Drenched, tired, and flustered, you find yourself at a fork in the road, the sign too weathered to be able to read. ![]() You stood there, trying to catch your breath as you debated on which road to take. The left side seemed promising, you thought to yourself, but there was just some eerie feeling radiating from it that made you hesitate. You then turned your attention to your right where the road seemed clean and welcoming, beckoning you to choose it. You smiled, muttering your thanks to the skies and beyond, and took a step towards your right. Suddenly the wind began blowing wildly, bringing along bits of twigs and leaves, and it blinded you momentarily… but your legs began to move on their own, and you, trusting that your natural instincts had chosen the right path, allowed them to continue onward. Finally, you were free of the debris that clouded your eyes, and you looked around to find yourself standing in front of a dense forest. Thinking that the forest was just part of the way to get to the market, you shrugged off any doubts and entered. Fortunately, you were sheltered from the pouring rain and no wild animals came to attack you, and soon, you reached a strange clearing deep within the forest. Glancing around, you saw old, worn rocks stacked up on top of each other, forming an enclosure around a very large tree resting beside a small pool of water. The rain had subsided to a light drizzle. ![]() Absolutely fascinated by its age, you stepped over the ruins of the ancient building and marveled at the beauty of the strong and healthy tree standing proudly with age before you. What vexed you most about the tree was the fact that it was fully green, even though all of the other trees had already lost their beautiful golden leaves, but still, it was a very amazing sight. As you walked around the tree, closely analyzing its complicated structure, your eyes dropped to its roots where you found a strange object. Curious as to what it was, you crouched down and tried removing it from its place between the roots, surprised to find firmly stuck. You began tugging at it, and you also tried to make simple contraptions to try and get it out, but alas your efforts were in vain. Sighing, you gave up to and sat beside the book, trying to think of other methods to release it from its prison as you watched the rain. It had become a lot brighter now that the time had progressed, and you found your eyes dropping to the book once more. Closing your eyes, you took in a deep breath and prayed for success. Gently coaxing the book once more to leave its cradle, the book moved ever-so-slightly, and your heart, feeling its movement, skipped a beat. You began to tug at it even harder, and as the book finally gave into your efforts, you heard a loud rip! The cover had been torn. ![]() The book was old, centuries old most likely. It was bordered with golden-edged pages, yellow with age, and studded with beautiful, multi-colored jewels. The cover of the book was made of brown leather with a maroon hue, meaning that it was most likely red when it was made. Ignoring the torn book cover, you opened the book to the first page, reading a message: The Legend of Raeci, God of Seasons, Lord of Time With each passing second, your curiosity for this book and its contents grew, so you tried flipping the page to see what was on the next page to find the same title. You tried again, and again, and again, and again, but no matter how many times you tried turning the gold-edged piece of paper, you found yourself at the beginning once again. You sighed and closed the book. Waving it in the air, you declared, I give up; this book was not meant for me to read... But while it was in the air, a thin piece of folded paper fell out and landed in your lap. Wondering what it was, you set down the book beside six identically-shaped rocks next to you and unfold the piece of paper. It read this: ![]() After you finished reading the note, you folded it and set it aside. You gave the book a suspicious look and picked it up again, but this time, you noticed the six rocks that it had rested with whilst you were reading the note. Your thoughts shifted to what the note said and you gulped. Your hand moved towards one of the rocks... |
winter This chapter is more of an introduction to anything rather than an actual chapter. It starts out with Raeci rambling (yes, actually rambling) about how his sister, Lirayne, never loved him, etc. The real action starts after said rambling, though. When the magician of Raeci's kingdom found out about his sister's true feelings towards her brother, though practically everyone knew she didn't like him, he knew he needed to act right away if he were to save Raeci's life. On the scheduled night of attack, the magician rushed towards Raeci's chamber and woke him up. Raeci, seeing as how it's very late in the night, and he's still a young boy, was confused and demanded to know what was going on, but the magician, Polreis, refused to answer until after they left the room. The two escaped into the forest and stopped to rest at Raeci's favorite hiding spot, a small clearing that homed a small pond accompanied by a young tree. When both of them regained their lost breath, Raeci, once again, demanded to know what was going on, and Polreis explained to him that his sister had plans to get rid of him forever. Afterwards, Polreis pleaded for Raeci to run away and never return (haha. lion king. -shot'd-), and Raeci, who knew nothing of the true outside world, could not choose between either choices. Before Raeci could make a choice, however, Polreis heard troops approaching the forest and pushed Raeci into the pool of water next to them, but he did not join Raeci in the water. The troops found Polreis alone, and they questioned him, knowing that he would know where the prince went, and when Polreis refused to help them... Poor Polreis, but somehow, Raeci was able to get away unnoticed, just sitting there in the pool. |
spring Like in the last chapter, Raeci rambles about near the beginning, which has sort of become a habit of mine to introduce what's going on in the story at that given time. In this chapter, Raeci found that he could not leave the pond that Polreis pushed him in, and he also found out that he could breathe under there without trouble, so he spent the winter in the pond. Another thing that Raeci found out while in the water was that he never grew hungry, and when he tried eating something, he found that, no matter how much he wanted to, he could not eat a single bite. Raeci's energy supply remained as high as ever, though, and that really vexed him. When the weather began to warm up again, Raeci found that it was getting harder to breathe underwater, and though he hadn't tried to in months, he leapt out of the water and found himself on land again... well, sort of. After a few minutes of running around and breathing in the fresh air of air (as silly as that sounds), Raeci found that he never stopped moving, and though he physically stopped a long time ago, even though he had a limitless amount of energy to run around for ever if he wanted to. He then saw an old friend of his walking on a pathway to the castle, and he rushed to greet his friend, but he didn't seem to physically touch that friend - that friend just seemed like he was greeted by a great gust of wind. |
summer This chapter, again, begins with Raeci rambling, but he doesn't ramble as much. Again, when spring came to an end and summer's heat now dominated the lands, Raeci found himself too cold from traveling in the wind all season, so he instinctively leapt to meet the warmth of flame. When he was finally comforted by the heat, Raeci found himself to be trapped in yet another element, fire. Though he, by then, had learned that he should not rush towards people as the wind, Raeci couldn't help but run around to exercise his energetic legs, and in doing so, he caused forest fires. This time, however, Raeci noticed that someone was watching him, and he felt even more so during the darkest nights of a month. He, not knowing who this silent watcher was, quickly shrugged off the feeling and continued on with his life. |
autumn By now, Raeci learned to stop dwelling in the past, and thus, he doesn't ramble as much at the start of this chapter either. He does, though, express worry over the silent watcher. When summer's rule over the land begins to died down, and cool weather took its place, Raeci found that after spending the whole season in fire, he needed to cool down, so he leapt into the ground and became the earth and its trees. |
time Raeci hardly rambles now - just expresses a few ideas about how he plans to go about the lands next year. Winter came once again, and Raeci found himself back in the water. When he found out that he could switch from earth to tree in the previous season, he was curious to see if he could do it with water too, and he was successful - he became the ice when the pond was too cold to be water. He also found out who his silent watch was - Suki, the moon and a snowbunny. |
